Thanks, Lisa! And thanks for your editing input. I agree with you about second chances, although in some cases they aren't warranted. Hence my question... does Ivan deserve a second chance? I think so. He's made an effort to change through therapy and medication and I think he's genuinely regretful as far as his treatment of Kenny. Thanks for the review!

Thank you for such an insightful review. Ivan was part of a cycle of violence. Now that he's been educated and received therapy and medication, hopefully it will be enough for him to change. I do think that Ivan has a chance and I hope that he and Dana are able to make it work. Thanks again for the review.

This was a really cute story. There were a lot of nice elements, from the "It's a Wonderful Life" type moral to the more comedic antics of the boys. I found the description of Max searching the computer quite poetic. And, of course, I liked the reference to my hometown You also included my absolute favorite Christmas carol with the flash mob. That part actually brought tears to my eyes. I'm glad I saved this to read 'til now. It was the perfect way to spend some time this afternoon before heading off to see family. Merry Christmas, Geron!

My cousins did this for my uncle after he was diagnosed with cancer. I don't remember what kind of car it was, but they wanted him to enjoy it for as long as he could since he loved old cars.

No offense meant I don't think I've read many of your stories (I'll have to add them to my list ). I was just teasing you. I wasn't sure how to treat the translations, since this is the first story I've written with them. I don't really like the parentheses because it feels unnatural to me, but all my editors and beta readers thought they were ok, so I left it as is. Reading how you treat them will help me for the follow-up stories. The other story I am planning would pick up after Matthew moves in with the markwarden and the subsequent fall-out. Thanks for your support. -

You are very perceptive, droughtquake As of right now, I have plans for two more stories in this universe. I won't say much other than that, because I don't want to give anything away. Anyway, I'm curious as to why you wouldn't have read these. Are you not a fan of the fantasy genre? I'm glad you did, because like I said in my reply to your other review, I enjoy reading your insights. Sorry the German was confusing. I put the translations close to the text because I dislike having to scroll to the bottom of the page to know what characters are saying (sorry, Tim ). Thanks for the great review. -

Wow...that's high praise, Tim. Thanks for such a great review. I never envisioned this story taking off the way it did after I started writing it. I loved writing it and you'll be happy to know that I have plans for at least two more stories in this universe, one of them being how Avid and Isaiah met. I think your questions about what happened to Isaiah should all be answered when I write that story. I guess I didn't make it clear in this story, but it was the chiristowarden that 'cleansed' Isaiah. There's so much more I could have written, but needed to find an ending point for the antho. Like I said, I do plan on continuing it. Thanks again for the review! -
Thanks for the review. I like to think that redemption is possible. Ivan is educated about his issues now and clearly remorseful. Hopefully Dana is enough motivation to keep him on the right track.

I figured you knew. I didn't know until I looked it up. I took four years of French in high school, but only a couple of months of German in eight grade. I thought the German made a better surname. Thanks for the recommendation and warning about Prophylaxis. I'll add it to my reading list.

I think your review is pretty spot-on. I agree with you about Ivan. I do think he's changed, too. The real test will be when he and Dana have problems in their relationship. Hopefully his counseling and medication will help him deal with any issues in an appropriate manner. I'm optimistic about the future for them. Hopefully that optimism is justified. I love reading your reviews. You always put so much thought into them. Thank you for that.
