  1. LOL That would be pretty awesome... Zombie Dad Pepsi ads! I'm glad you liked it.
  2. Thanks I'm glad you liked it.
  3. Probably wouldn't hurt to have a case on hand in case the zombie apocalypse arrives... I couldn't kill Zombie Dad. He's been through enough. Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked it.

    Shelter

Tears, huh? Still not feeling sorry for him, even if his stone heart is starting to crumble. You've portrayed his downfall quite nicely. Now I'm wondering if there's further to fall or if he will start to pick up the pieces and do something good with his wretched life. He's at a crossroads...let's see which way he goes. Nice job, Parker.

    Hunting

I was thinking about this story yesterday, and the parallels between it and the story you just proofread for me--like we were discussing--and it struck me how you haven't let us know the predator's name yet. I know I'm a bit slow on the uptake in that regard... lol but the lack of name is dehumanizing and makes it easier to look on him with disgust, his actions notwithstanding. I'm willing to bet he has a name before the end of the story...if he grows enough to deserve one. Anyway...his roommate and Ted have completely eviscerated the predator. Interesting that he feels he can go to Marc. I'm not surprised by the other's reaction to him, though. On to the next chapter...
  6. Thanks I wanted to add a little drama, so I'm glad it worked. Thanks for the review!
  7. Thanks, Dugh. I'm glad you liked my take on the zombie genre. The Pepsi thing is from a Prompt response I wrote in 2014 and has become a bit of a joke between me and Zombie on the "Last Post Wins" thread. I honestly don't remember why I chose Pepsi... lol http://www.gayauthors.org/story/valkyrie/2014promptresponses/22
  8. Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it.
  9. “I need to find a way to make this right.” The man in the white lab coat ran his hand over his face as he stared into the quarantine room. The still form on the hospital bed haunted him ever since he had administered the wrong treatment three days prior, exacerbating the man’s symptoms instead of alleviating them. It was widely known that Diet Pepsi intensified the effects of the zombie virus and regular Pepsi lessened them; however, after working a double-shift, the young doctor had inadvert
  10. I loved A Healing Heart. It was difficult to read at times (due to content, not writing--the writing is very good), but well worth it in the end. I'll have to check out the other stories as well.

    Lost and Found

Thanks so much, Lisa! This is a messy situation, with lots of hurt, but ultimately I think everyone will come out the other side ok and stronger for the experience. Thanks for reading and the great review!

    Lost and Found

That's an interesting perspective. I don't think Jake will give up on the kids. The situation wasn't easy on anyone, but had to be especially hard on Richard and Lee. I have faith they will move on, though. Thanks for a great review.
  13. I hope everything is ok, Emi. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
  14. I thought I had read all these, but it looks like I will have to read them again. Great reviews!

    Lost and Found

Thanks, Defiance! I agree...happy and sad. I think Jake and Lee will be able to reach an agreement that benefits the kids. Like you said, kids are resilient and I think they'll be just fine. Thanks for the review!

    Lost and Found

The marriage would have been terminated with Jake being declared legally dead. So the second marriage would be legal and subject to divorce proceedings. At least that's my take on it.

    Lost and Found

Thanks, AC. I feel for Lee and Richard, too. I think the kids will probably fare the best. I imagine both Lee and Jake will want to do what's best for them and work together to ensure their well-being. I'm glad you liked the reunion scene. Thanks for the review!

    Lost and Found

The scene when Ben utters Jake's name instead of Richard's was hard to write. I wanted the end of their relationship to be pretty clear-cut, even if it was painful. I'd like to think that everyone will heal and live the lives they were meant to. Thanks for such a thoughtful review.

    Oliver

Wow...that was intense! Oliver's final battle scene made me think of Jon Snow in the "Battle of the Bastards" on Game of Thrones. I didn't see the triad coming...you hinted that Zaidu and Adam knew each other in a previous life...I don't remember that from the previous stories, so I guess I'll have to re-read them. I'm salivating for more now...please?
  20. I loved this story. I felt for all the characters--Brooklyn included. The ending was perfect. There's an opening for more, but it's also great as is.

    Chapter 1

I really enjoyed this story. Brian did a lot of growing up and it was nice seeing how Nate helped him discover what he truly wanted out of life. I know what it's like to be blindsided by family secrets and I think you portrayed Brian's reaction perfectly. I don't tend to re-read stories I've already read, but even though I proofed this, I did read it again in its entirety. Great job!

    Chapter 1

I hope you continue these guys' story! My only complaint is that it was too short...I want more! You had me wondering if Brady was using Ryan to explore his sexuality because he was crushing on some other guy or if he really felt something for Ryan. I'm glad it was the latter. Nice job!
  23. Your strength as a writer is the emotion you put into your stories, and this one delivered in spades. I felt the rift between the two men and Duncan's pain was so palpable, yet when you introduced Leon I immediately was rooting for them to work things out. You showed how easily misunderstandings and lack of communication can destroy relationships. It's a good thing they had such great friends in Kelly and Martin. And I totally want their house! lol Great story, Gary. Very well done.
  24. So many story updates! Well done to all groups. I'm still working my way through the antho. There aren't enough hours in the day to read, edit, write, and get any sort of chores done. Good thing I live alone. The cats don't really care if the house is messy for an extra day...

    Chapter 1

I would love to see this expanded. There are so many things I'm wondering....about the creepy fences, why only teenagers were affected, will the teenagers succumb once they reach a certain age... I thought it was a great sign that Ben laughed at the end. As a speech therapist, the whole communication aspect of the story was fascinating to me. I'd love to see where it goes.
