Thanks for reading so many of my stories today I'm glad you liked this one. I agree that Pete's father is beyond redemption. Unfortunately, some things just can't be fixed.
lol That's one of my favorite lines, too. I'm glad you liked these guys so much. There's one more that features them peripherally, as it's really Pete's story - Exit to Redemption - if you're interested. Thanks again for all the reviews.
I probably ought to have these listed as a series so it's easier for people to read them in order: Max's Garage, Lawyer or Mechanic, Proximate Cause, then Closing the Circle. There's also Exit to Redemption, which tells Pete's story. I'm glad you like the stories so far. I really enjoyed writing them. Thanks for the review!
My heart goes out to Brian at the loss of Chris. Your depiction of the car makes me want to go for a ride in it, and I get carsick at the drop of a hat! lol I look forward to what's next.
Like Reader said, I hope you change your mind. I enjoy reading your poetry and find it very genuine and heartfelt. You are one of the true Poets of GA and your work will be missed by many.
Sorry for the late reply...somehow I missed your review. This week's prompts look promising for continuing the story. We'll see what happens to zombie dad. Thanks for reading and leaving a review!
lol yes I thought it would be interesting to explore the POV of a stalker...I am not a stalker myself... Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
I enjoyed this tremendously. You make me want to visit Amsterdam and see the sights you describe...with the exception of Black Matthew I found I wasn't looking for translations as much in this story - I remember only once wondering what the phrase meant - so the meanings were woven into story well and seamlessly. I love creepy stories and the creep factor in this one was high. I'm really looking forward to reading the next installment and finding out who the girl whose form Mooi took is.
A very sad, touching story. I had no idea about the name until the end. I didn't pick up on any clues, unless Renouf means some sort of lily in French. Anyway, glad to have you here on GA. I look forward to reading more of your stories.
My stomach did a bit of a turn at the thought of eating those leftovers... You did warn me... lol I did a recent refrigerator purge so its contents are all safe for consumption. whew. lol
I loved this story. It was very well-written and I felt like I knew the city before you revealed who Mooi actually was. I agree with Stannie about adding the translations. Most of them I could infer, but a couple of times I found myself wondering what the words meant, but didn't want to stop reading for "Google translate". lol I'm so glad to hear you will posting more. I look forward to reading more of your work. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
You are not worthless, Emi. You have become a very active part of GA and have lots of friends here. I know that's small consolation when your life feels like it's falling apart, but know that you can take refuge here. Your ex sounds like a narcissist. I know what it's like to be around one - I was raised by one. They suck out your self-worth and leave you feeling empty and worthless. I hope you're not giving him any money...cut this jerk out of your life completely. It's not worth it. Hang in there...things will get better.
