I like how you meld the spiritual with the scientific at the end of the first one. Can I guess this is a topic you learned about at your conference? lol I didn't understand a lot of it, since I am not really a math person, but enjoyed regardless. The second one was just lovely -
The plot thickens...so Nobu isn't the abused son of a Yakuza leader, thrown into his role by happenstance, but rather someone who is exactly where he wants to be. It makes me wonder if there's anything in his heart for Viktor other than using him to further his standing with his "father". I find myself feeling sorry for Viktor, who is sure to be hurt at some point - both physically and emotionally, I'm willing to guess. You've planted some interesting crumbs about Vladimir. I wonder what his role in this is going to be? Very intriguing, Cynus. I read on with trepidation...

Great beginning. I'm hooked! You've woven a rich tapestry of cultures in a realistic, futuristic setting. I'm very interested to see how the sons of such diametrically opposed backgrounds develop their relationship. I don't think Nobu is only interested in Viktor to gain his father's favor, but I can see betrayal in their future. I'll hang on for what I'm sure is going to be a bumpy ride!

Cute story You shifted POV a few times from third to first person, which was a little jarring. Overall, I enjoyed this though. I see good things in the future for these two. -

Wow! You packed a lot into that prompt. John did what had to be done, and technically it was self-defense. I'm glad that Tommy is free of Jack and hope that he only experiences the good things life has to offer from now on. I could see this as a longer work, although getting into the details of such a sick mind would be tough to read (and write). Nice job.
