  2. I know! My week is all thrown off now...
  3. Congrats on the feature, Zenith! I read this story and enjoyed it. I look forward to the discussion day.
  4.
  5. I agree with you. Mountain Dew is a chemical stew that's much worse for you than a cup of coffee. Edited to add: a regular cup of coffee, I mean. Not sugar-laden coffee concoctions that are so popular right now.
  6. I agree with you, Bill. I've had many people assume that I'm gay simply because I'm in my 40s, never married, never had kids, and am single. That is so true! Single does not necessarily equal celibate Good advice. I think we can all relate to feeling alone at times. I'm an introvert, so being around people can be exhausting to me. It's nice to be able to go home and not have to put on a facade.
  7. A friend of mine posted this article on Facebook, and there is a lot in there I can relate to. I've lived the majority of my life as a single person. I also live alone and have since 1995. I like living alone. I like only having myself to answer to. I'm proud of the fact that I have a good career, own my own home, and am able to pursue my hobbies and interests with relative ease. I am a strong, independent person that knows how to take care of herself. Am I lonely? Sometimes. Do I regret choosing to remain single for so long? Sometimes. Sometimes I wish I had a 'cushion' to rely on in times of need. If I get sick or lose my job, I'm screwed. I have some savings, but not enough to live off of for very long. Sometimes it would be nice to come home to find the house clean or dinner started or just simply get a nice hug. (I know...wouldn't we all? ) When I'm sick, it would be nice to have someone to heat up some soup and bring me a blanket. But overall, I'm content with and have made peace with my life choices. I've experienced some of the societal stigma that's still attached with being perpetually single, but I've learned how to brush it off and it doesn't bother me like it used to. Well, sometimes it does, but we all have moments of weakness. http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2016/07/what-does-it-really-mean-to-be-single/489701/?utm_source=atlfb

  10. I like how you meld the spiritual with the scientific at the end of the first one. Can I guess this is a topic you learned about at your conference? lol I didn't understand a lot of it, since I am not really a math person, but enjoyed regardless. The second one was just lovely

    Chapter 3

The plot thickens...so Nobu isn't the abused son of a Yakuza leader, thrown into his role by happenstance, but rather someone who is exactly where he wants to be. It makes me wonder if there's anything in his heart for Viktor other than using him to further his standing with his "father". I find myself feeling sorry for Viktor, who is sure to be hurt at some point - both physically and emotionally, I'm willing to guess. You've planted some interesting crumbs about Vladimir. I wonder what his role in this is going to be? Very intriguing, Cynus. I read on with trepidation...

    Prompt 508

lol It's not exactly my cup of tea either. I'm not sure how into it Sven will ever be, but he loves Alex enough for it not to be a deal-breaker. Thanks again for your help and and for the review

    Chapter 2

OMG that ending was great lol I have a feeling Nobu knew exactly what he was doing. lol You have me wondering now if Viktor is as aware of Nobu's family and their dealings as Nobu is of Viktor's? Onward...

    Chapter 1

Great beginning. I'm hooked! You've woven a rich tapestry of cultures in a realistic, futuristic setting. I'm very interested to see how the sons of such diametrically opposed backgrounds develop their relationship. I don't think Nobu is only interested in Viktor to gain his father's favor, but I can see betrayal in their future. I'll hang on for what I'm sure is going to be a bumpy ride!
  18. Beautiful, Tim
  19. Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a great day!! Here's a rainbow cake for you
  20. Cute story You shifted POV a few times from third to first person, which was a little jarring. Overall, I enjoyed this though. I see good things in the future for these two.

  22. Prompt 508 -Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following in a story – a blue coat, a large animal, a crutch, a new house, and an evergreen tree. “There’s something you need to know about me before we move in together.” Alexander fiddled with his hands and looked at the ground. His normally pale face was decidedly red. I took his hands in mine and was surprised to feel them trembling. My boyfriend was always so stoic; not much rattled him. The lunch we had just finished sat in my sto
