    Chapter 12

I like how the pack is adapting to Cyn's needs. Shea is going out of his way to find Cyn's interests and cater to them. I bet Cyn will win the marathon with ease I also don't think Cyn will be comfortable in that room without Shea staying there. Great chapter!

Great chapter! Their relationship is progressing and they're learning more about each other. Gus will do wonders for Rick's confidence. I think Rick will come out at some point... I just hope it's on his terms.
  7. Sometimes I look at my hands and notice the same thing. Years of manual labor were not kind to them, and my skin is definitely not as smooth as it used to be. Great job.
  8. Very small snowmen
  9. Do you mind sharing the recipe for that meatloaf? 🤤
  10. We got about 7" of snow overnight and it's still snowing. Storm #2 is on its way for later this week, bringing about another half a foot. And it's still bluefish cold. The big thaw should start on Sunday... I'm hoping my sump pump modifications hold until the line thaws.
  11. Oh gosh... I've got about 15 tabs open on my computer I totally understand what you mean about 'productivity'. It's been a buzzword in my profession for a while now, and not in a good way. Where I work (when I'm not furloughed), they put a lot of pressure on clinicians to get our 'numbers'... meaning there's an expectation of how many people to see in a day. And they don't care about why we weren't able to see a particular person. Excuses 🙄 So in my line of work, productivity can mean demands which straddle the line of our code of ethics, in the area of providing appropriate services. I refuse to cross that line, which sometimes means my numbers may be down, but that doesn't mean I'm lazy or unmotivated... I'm using that time to write reports, catch up on case notes, or provide staff training. One area I wish I were more productive lately is with my writing. Especially with being furloughed, I feel I should be writing more, but just don't have the mental fortitude for it at the moment. If you're looking for constructive feedback, I'll send you a PM later about "Cernnunos" and some of my observations.
  12. This is an enjoyable story. I've read it before, but just read it again. It's a quick read that's definitely worth checking out.
  13. So I had to have the plumber come back this afternoon because one plumbing issue in a day is not enough
  14. You're so thoughtful 🙄
  15. Every day is Val day As for today, it's turning out rather sucky. The sump pump is replaced, but then we went and checked out the pipe outside where it goes from the house to the underground pipe, it was frozen solid. So the pipe on the outside of the house had blown off. So the plumber put a temporary pipe there and I attached a flexible hose to it so it will drain onto the lawn until the pipe thaws. I'm so sick of this shite.
  16. My sump pump kicked on yesterday morning and decided it liked running so much, it would do so constantly Despite running constantly, it wasn't getting rid of the water in the well. So I had to unplug it and keep my fingers crossed there wouldn't be enough water draining to flood the basement. Good thing it's an arctic snap, because that means minimal drainage. So the plumber is here now, replacing it. The company I use is great about sending someone out in a timely manner. I was relieved they fit me in first thing this morning. My bank account, however, is not so happy We're supposed to get walloped with a winter storm this afternoon through tomorrow, and then again later in the week, so I'm very glad to get this work done now. I wish I could have gotten to the grocery store before the storm hit, but I have enough to last me the week. Just no fresh veggies #firstworldproblems
  17. That's for sure! Snoozing and unfriending has made my life a lot more peaceful
  18. It's been frigid cold here too and it's supposed to last another week before any kind of warm up. Not as cold as Calgary, although I totally get the lack of motivation
  19. Happy Valentine's Day
  20. I think Steve is sitting on the sidelines with a stein of bier, wondering how the hell we saw through his attempt at deception
  21. Looks like they ate spinach
  22. My mom always called those "cowboy cookies". They were one of my favorite when I was a kid. Well, and now if I could still eat them.
