  1. Amazing! So many surprises! I had it figured all wrong, but when "jimmy" showed up I guessed who it was, but that made it all the spookier! Heartwarming, a bit scary, and such a mystery. The part about his father blew me away! It was so mysterious. What happened to Jimmy, did he kill himself, or was it something else? And it looks like he's bringing a father and son back together, too. Luc, this was beautifully done, with artful misdirection.
  2. I thought Darry was setting Alex up with Paul, and that was the whole reason for getting Alex back to Storeyville. When Darry confessed his feelings, I was bowled over! TOTALLY unexpected! Thanks for a great story, with a delightful ending!!
  3. This started out with a palpable feel of loneliness, and the story of Pete's cold-blooded move-out was wrenching. But everything turned around when he answered that door and thought he recognized little Stevie. I'm definitly in the "everything will work out" camp! This is a beautiful and heartwarming story. Thank you Jack!!
  4. Wow, Graeme, that was fanatastic! I was guessing that It was a prank, and thoguht Nick was in on it, right up until the security camera part at the end! Wow! That last line "Somehow, Cole, that doesn
  5. That was a surprise! I had no idea it would end like that, and I was astounded at how easily he accepted it. Wow. Thank you!
  6. My hunch was that it was a premonition, too. And I REALLY loved the way Tyler overcame his fears and attacked the thugs. I also loved the way he "lost it" a bit when it was all over: that is so VERY realistic!!! This is just absolutely great, and I really love the writing style! I sure hope this continues!!! That was my very first thought! I usually breeze through a disclaimer, but this one sure made me do a double-take! OMG!!!!!!! That had me in hysterics!! Thank you, Dezl, for a superb story, and that disclaimer set just the right cheery tone for it.
  7. Thanks!!!! Provided, of course, that it doesn't end up being entitled "insert title here" Hi Camy!! Well, "A Goat's Tale" is better then "insert Title Here", So that is a possibility! As for training the Muse, I do hope that your Muse treats you a little better then the one in "The Muse" tends to behave.
  8. I loved this! I've experimented a little with lucid dreaming myself, so that alone hooked me. I loved the descriptions, and the characters! Bax was especially great ("golden-boy looks" made him especially interesting! ) I just loved this story, and the mix of fun, with.. something very different. Forboding? I loved it, but I want more!
  9. This was a really "feel good" story! I loved it! Very well done, and I loved the imagery you pulled off with very few words. I'll agree with Kevin though: Poor Jake! Thank you Camy!!!
  10. I was oblivious until the final lines. I was wondering what the "chamber" was earlier, but in the last it all made perfect sense. A great deal left to the imagination! Fantastic, Birds!!
  11. My interpretation was that Brent was indeed an old man, who had fialed, the first time around, to let Lucas know how he felt. Perhaps Lucas' ghost had been coming to visit him every haloween, always in the same costume. I think the "old man" is Brent, who has just died, and is now able to be with Lucas. A very romantic ghost story!! VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. This is extremely thought-provoking! Wow!! Very powerful stuff, DarkShadow! Great character development, and I loved the hints that I missed, only to find that they had been there all along. Very well done!!! I was wondering that too! My guess is that they can't interact, but aren't fully aware of it, or even of their situation until the "death". I think it's a different day, but it is showing us that this sort of thing keeps happening over and over, which sadly it does. Awesome story!!
  13. I'm excited too!!! I love the anthologies!!!
  14. I live in the woods, and I love the fall colors! I also love that I don't have to worry about daylight savings time! The person below me also does not have daylight savings time.
  15. Hmmm, very true. I note though that there is still a heavy Jordanite influence. That Bishop sounds very interesting! From the sound of it, I think Garret would have his hands full even without the civil war! Heh! Just you remember, if I find that I am guaranteed to be always wrong no matter what I predict, I shall predict that Earth will still exist tomorrow! AND BTW, thanks for telling me that I needed to word it as a positive prediction. I couldn't destroy the world without you.
  16. Hi Michael! The cowboy pic cuts off, so if anyone wants to see it, just save it to your HD and then view it. Nah, that's a city-slicker version of a cowboy! But, work with me, and I can have you looking like this in no time at all! (and no, that isn't me!!!) And you will owe it all to Kevin's blog! Kevin, you will soon be famous for hosting fashion advice of this calibre! It's a first, I tell ya!
  17. Thank you Joe!!!! Joe does a heck of a lot here, far more than most of us ever see. Keeping a site like this running is no easy task! THANK YOU JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Tom, I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother.
  19. I was actually talking about products like "Hair No More". These are supposed to be used for the following areas: * Chest & abdomen * Back & shoulders * Hands, arms & underarms * Legs, feet & toes * Face, chin & upper lip * Bikini line * Eyebrows I guess we need Kevin's expertise after all But maybe you can run the column together. Hugs, Michael (a candidate for a makeover by fashion and grooming consultants James and Kevin) Wow, they really do have stuff like that! I thought you might have been pulling my leg... I know a lot of guys (gay and straight), especially the fit ones, will shave their chests (I happen to like that look) but I had no idea creams and such were available. OK, makeover time! Shifting into fashion consultant mode here! So, how do you feel about plaid flannel? Nice and warm in winter. Or a concert T or NASCAR T for summer. Levies plus A belt with a buckle that has the name of your favorite beer on it, and don't forget a baseball cap or maybe a nice, subdued Stetson. Work boots or Western boots are always a good choice, but if not, there are always the generic sneakers at Walmart. Also, part of a makeover is a haircut, right? So, go high-end. Don't go for the $5 special at the local barbers (unless they are good), go for the $11 cut at the Wallmart barbers. Speaking of wallmart, If I absolutely have to go clothes shopping (something I enjoy as much as trips to the dentist), I start there first, and then go to a local feed and grain store (I live in rural Arizona) that carries shirts, hats, jeans, and boots in addition to the stuff for horses. Sound like a good makeover plan? CJ (Who is out to make Kevin's blog the go-to place for fashion advice!)
  20. Thanks!!! The Anthology submission was accepted, so it will be in there (thank you Kitty!!). It's called "The Muse", but I should warn people that it is nothing like "No Shirt, No Problem". I'm biting the bullet and beginning to post chapters of a multi-chapter story about a week later (that one is a little more like "No Shirt, No Problem!"). I am still in need of a title, but if I don't think of one by posting time, keep a lookout for "insert title here"
  21. I loved this chapter! It was great to see Ian coming out of his shell. I'm liking Nathan a lot, too!
  22. I wish I hadn't dropped a hammer on my foot. I also wish that I had not been barefoot at the time. This is not something that I recommend as a recreational activity. The person below me also had a painful incident with construction tools today.
  23. Well, another of my predictions failed! (I'd predicted that Garret would run into trouble on Braxix). The description of the laser display was interesting and vivid! I'm assuming that the "arcing" meant they were firing into the atmosphere of Braxix, because you can't see lasers in a vacuum (such as space) unless they hit something. We finally found out what Jordanisim is: a meld of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. I find that one a bit hard to imagine (I doubt anyone can recall any instance of religions, even sects, merging, because they don't.) However, stranger things have happened, and fanatical expansionism is a common trait of "new" religions, as this would be. Interesting that there was no explanation of, nor even reference to Garrets rather questionable liaison with Aaron in the last chapter. I found the slip up by one of the Calosians referring to the "liberation" as "Invasion" VERY interesting. A great chapter!! Thank you!
  24. James, what about hair removal products? I was curious if any of those "permanent hair removal" ointments work, and what are the side effects? Well, Michael, I don't know much about hair removal ointments. Ummm, actually, I've never heard of such a thing? I have heard of Laser hair removal, but I know nothing about it. Personally, I don't mind shaving my face in the morning, plus sometimes I like to grow a beard for the winter, so it wouldn't be for me. But, to each, their own. I assume we are talking about getting rid of a beard? If so, I use plain old shaving cream and a razor. I find that canned shaving cream works just fine, so I buy the generic stuff. I suppose a surgical alternative might work too. Just amputate at the neck. The side effects might be messy, though. Best Wishes; CJ (The self-appointed fashion and grooming consultant of Kevin's blog, at least until Kevin finds out).
  25. I think I gound it as a link from Dabeagle, but I can't remember. I just read the stories and forums for a few months, then earlier this year I registered.
