  1. Wow, that DOES sound like a good idea! Hey Kevin, I think you should do it, but if you don't, *I* will!!! Let me see.. Fashion advice! Yes, Plaid flannel shirts are "in" this season, especially when graced by a well-used baseball cap. This ensemble works best when worn with levis 501's and good Western Boots (what city people call cowboy boots, but NOT the gaudy "fashion" kind!). Personal skin and hair-care advice! OK, Shampoo is a good thing to wash your hair with. The generic stuff at wallmart for 99 cents works just fine. I did try a hair conditioner, once. A little bottle of it was in the hotel room, so I tried it. My biggest gripe: they don't put instructions on the stuff: How the heck am I supposed to know if I am supposed to put it on before, or after shampooing? Keep looking sharp: get a haircut every six months whether you need it or not! For skin care, use a bar of soap. If you want to be really fancy-shamancy, use a name brand like "Dial". <CJ checks his bathroom cabinet> Yep, one bottle of cologne (old spice), one anti-perspirant, and one generic mouthwash. OK, Kevin, what do you think? You gonna do this, or should I be the fashion and grooming guru for GA?
  2. This is an open THANK YOU to Kitty. Right now, Kitty is incredibly busy preparing the anthology, which is a HUGE amount of work. (I've only recently learned how much). It was Kitty who helped get me started in online writing, and Kitty's anthology was my first online venture. This is true for several other GA writers too. Kitty has helped me in many other ways, as she has many others. So, Kitty, THANK YOU for all that you do!! Best Wishes, CJ
  3. I have never seen a movie that I have liked as much as the book. In most cases, I have hated the movie version. That is probably a large part of why I so rarely go to movies these days. The person below me did like a movie better then the book.
  4. James, thank you! I had no idea of this until I read your blog, and I'm going comet-spotting tonight! Thanks again! CJ
  5. Now see? You are trying to use your powers for "other than good" purposes. Besides, your predictions are for things that *will* happen, not things that *won't* happen so you have no track record on that basis. Emoe, you have a very good point! You are quite right. I'd have to change the wording and predict that the World will still exist tomorrow!!!!! Thanks, Emoe! I couldn't have destroyed the world without you! Leonev's ships are mainly newer, too, which might give them capabilities that we have not seen yet. I think you have a good point on the tactics, and I also don't think Leonev is going to be dumb enough to sit back and wait while Garret wins the battle of production. I think the missile targeting problem is a harbinger of things to come.
  6. Well said, JC! And WELCOME TO GA!!!
  7. ROFL!! What? Hardware stores not your thing? My other two "recreational shopping" destinations are automotive stores, and electronics stores. Hmmmm, come to think of it, I need to go to Napa (an auto parts and gadgets chain) to check out some gadgets for one of my stories, so this fits into your "props" theme. Um, has anyone here ever fitted a supercharger (not a turbo) and a nitrous plate to a 357 short block? If so, I'd really like to talk to you! ROFL!!! Wow. Was the wet-jock competition at the same place as the drinks?
  8. It would help if the adopted was a kidd rather than a kid. Otherwise, becoming a successful goat might be very challenging indeed. People always said I was a cute kidd. I have no problem with cross-species adoptions.
  9. It is vaguely possible that that constitutes TMI... Very funny, Kevin! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, that could be read more than one way. Those were real?!?!!?!? Wow. I have a confession to make: When I was reading "Falls Creek Lessons", that drink was the ONE thing that struck me as too hard to believe! Oh no, not shopping!! You are more than welcome to my share. If there is one thing I hate, it's shopping malls. But, put me in a hardware store and I am happy to spend hours looking around and shopping, so I have my shopping moments too.
  10. Short posts? Hmmmm... Yes, brevity is admirable. I admire it greatly. In fact, I could write paragraph after paragraph on the vitues of brevity... The person below me likes long posts.
  11. I am very much looking forward to them!! You have me hooked with "the Druid". Excellent!!! Take care and best wishes; CJ
  12. I use one to two paragraphs, listing everything from physical description, personality traits, to favorite foods, plus of course quirks. I need to learn to keep them updated as a story progresses. How would a character sheet work? I have no idea what one would look like?
  13. I have many delusions, but grandeur is not amongst them, BECAUSE I SAY SO, and that, after all, makes it true. The person below me wonders how long this game will keep running?
  14. To: The Forum Troll From: The Forum Goat Welcome back! We have missed you!
  15. Hmmm, I've got to try that (a character encyclopedia). That does sound like a great idea! So, when will you tell us what the inside joke is?
  16. I certainly am, though that is no surprise because I can rarely think of anything to say. (that is why I am a lurker, not a poster.) So, what to say, what to say... Hmmmm... The person below me knows the difference between a Wallaby and a Kangaroo.
  17. But Kevin, you can't arrest a Duck. He would fly the coop!
  18. I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. :-( I'm wondering if Frank will end up with someone? Jay, or maybe David? This is certainly one wild ride!!!
  19. I'm not tired, and I am at home, so I guess I shouldn't be answering this one. The person below me is a big fan of Echidnas!

  21. That is downright spooky, Kevin! I lost mine yesterday. I have a backup set, but it still bothers me as I don't know where my main set is. The person below me is also missing their keys.
  22. Glad I wasn't the only one to think that. I have a gift for predicting things that do not occur! Hmmmm, if I become infallibly wrong, I might just decide to predict that the world won't end tomorrow. Still, the idea of just Aaron and Garret alone on that moon certainly does raise a few red flags. Especially if Aaron has some other loyalties.
  23. James, thank you for that great post! I love it! Snowey, Thanks again! BTW, for anyone wanting to experiment with color emission and absorption, an easy way to see the effect is to shine, in a dark room, a laser on a like-colored object. In many cases you get less reflectivity than shining it on something black.
  24. I'm hoping that there is some other explanation for the "heroin" rumor than it being real, but, I do not the word "flying" in the title which might indicate otherwise.
  25. Hmmmmm... Probably right. Thinking back, I remember being in first grade and "choosing" a "Best Friend" because he was the best looking guy in the class. Wow, OK, I was definitly wrong on that, and I've learned something today. For some reason, when I saw "Disney shows" I assumed pre-teens. I guess my lack of TV viewership is showing! I certainly do wish that one of the "educational" channels, such as the Animal Channel, would do a show on homosexuality in nature. I'd bet that a great many people think that it occurs only in humans.
