That first neck in black and white... And the guy in the black hoodie with green lettering... Sigh! Sometimes, I love the internet.

No Coffee - Prompt 445
Puppilull commented on albertnothlit's story chapter in No Coffee - Prompt 445
A world without coffee would spell disaster! LOL This was a great prompt, even if it was a bit sad that the whole existence had to go for her experiment. It's fun to read (and write) prompts, since authors can just have fun with them. -
Destiny - A Novel By Ac Benus

I didn't feel attacked. It's hard for me to discuss matters like these in a foreign language... If we look at Linc and Jack, I agree with you that reason points to the judge using his/her sound judgment and not convict Linc. However, just because someone agrees to a certain action, it doesn't mean it's ok. If someone at 18 convinced a person at 12-13 that having sex was a good idea and they agreed, I wouldn't necessarily feel the same way. A child that young doesn't know what they are agreeing to. So, even if it went undiscovered and both parties agreed, it would in my opinion still be wrong. But just to be clear: I don't see any problems with the love between Jack and Linc and I hope the situation is resolved quickly. -

I hope you don't read my post as a defence for the sheriff's actions. He was, as I stated myself, way out of line and there is no excuse for that. The question I wanted to discuss (perhaps all too clumsily put) was if Linc should have been arrested at all. Laws can indeed be flawed, but who has a right to decide that? If it's a law harming people, then yes civil disobedience sadly perhaps too often is needed. Here, it's a law set for the protection of young people. I tried to start a discussion on this particular law. There can be different views on when young people are deemed ready for a sexual relationship. Who gets to decide when? I did not see this as a question of gay or straight, as I assumed that the law is gender neutral. Perhaps this was wrong if me and as you said a result of a cultural gap. I didn't mean to offend anyone, but find this a very interesting question. When is it OK to go against a law? -
Poetry prompt 7 - Blank verse
Puppilull commented on Puppilull's story chapter in Poetry prompt 7 - Blank verse
This time I really, really battled my impatient nature and general lack of time and read all lines aloud over and over, working to get that flow. I moved words around A LOT. Some phrases I unfortunately fell in love with when I wrote them and I couldn't kill all my darlings that in truth might have needed to be put down. The rythm and flow is therefore compromised in some lines... I also discovered my preferred syllable count is eight. Almost all lines ended up being 8 syllables on the first go. Strange! Thank you for reviewing and your continued encouragement! -

After reading the latest chapter, I have to say something and I hope you won't have a fit... Ok, the sheriff was an asshat for the way he treated Linc, no question about that. However, he is investigating a serious alleged crime against a minor. In Sweden, their relationship would not be illegal, since Jack is 15. Age of consent is as I gather higher in many states in the US. This is to protect young people from being used and abused. In this case, we readers all know the nature of Jack's and Linc's relationship and are therefore angry at the law for tearing them apart. But what if Linc was 25? 45? Would we still see their love as something worth protecting? Probably not. So why is it ok to disregard the law here? And can we blame the police for enforcing laws that have been passed by people elected by the voters? I would expect there to be some exception to the law, for instance when the persons involved are close in age as in this case. I don't know if this is the case in Ohio. If there isn't, maybe people should work on changing the law? If we start to pick and choose which laws we want to follow it's a dangerous path we take. It was mentioned in the reviews something about inequity. If for some reason, same sex couples are judged more severly, than that is something that needs to be addressed. But I don't know if that's the case here. Also, I find the moral outrage against their relationship kind of hard to believe. That may be due to my Swedish view on things. The press here would never write about a relationship between two guys close in age or find it news worthy. -
Yay Bryan! Just hurry up now and go get your man!

Oh, and I was preparing a speech in Colin's defence! I don't think he's an idiot. He's a guy who's ended up in something ge doesn't really understand. He doesn't want to bother Ben when he thinks he can handle things on his own (like checking out that car) and he also wants to help by gathering information he believes the police won't be able to get (such as the diary). That USB could to him be anything, so not telling Ben about that isn't stupid. So in my opinion, he's doing a few stupid things, but he's not an idiot. He just doesn't want to accept that the killer is very close to him and therefore tries to go on with his life and keep busy best he can. -
I'm going nuts here, feeling so frustrated about Talin slowly dying and the threats against Dimitri and his family. The final chapter can't come soon enough! Such a great story!

So much emotion between these guys. They might try and act as if they are operating under that contract, but it seems pretty clear something else is at work here. Dorian really needs to watch out for Felix' ability to take anything sexually but nothing emotionally. For someone so young to be so without boundaries and still trying to distance himself, is at least to me something to be careful with. A bit of a challenge for the very smitten Dom...

I like that Colin feels comfortable with asking for what he wants in bed. Ben's response was very funny. Being able to laugh together in bed means so much. And yes, Colin needs to stop playing detective. That will only end in disaster. -

Yes, I had to struggle a bit to get those words, 'life's essence', in there and to fit the rythm. I wrote them and then couldn't let go. They are kind of significant for my pair. Thanks for your review! -
Chapter 11 Poetry Prompt 7- Michael's Ode to Kendall
Puppilull commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 Poetry Prompt 7- Michael's Ode to Kendall
Aaah! You went sweet too! Maybe it's the form that draws out these romantic lines? I felt tempredto curl up in bed with my guy when I read this poem. -
Good to see Luke being a bit remorseful, even if he still acts like a predator in a way. Does he really believe the best way to help Gary is by seducing him? Sure, Gary should be old enough to make his own decisions, but having suppressed his feelings for so long they will be coming out in force. He doesn't really stand a chance. Weird reaction from the supervisor. Why couldn't he just listen to the boys? Blind obedience would have left Luke in pain for much longer. Is that better?

Chapter 7 - Just a Conversation
Puppilull commented on Cynus's story chapter in Chapter 7 - Just a Conversation
Uh-oh... I guess this will give Chris a bit of a conundrum himself. So when Gary finally decides to take a chance, he really goes for it. Good for him, but perhaps not the best timing. Sucks that they were warned for simply trying to help Luke. -

Chapter 3 A Rent Boy’s Christmas Birthday
Puppilull commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Chapter 3 A Rent Boy’s Christmas Birthday
These poems almost makes me cry. To me, it's unthinkable to put a child, my child in anywhere near those circumstances. It breaks my heart to know it happens all too often. Very touching. -

I like that we're getting to know Rother a bit more. He can't just rush through life. We are curious about him! -
That was such happy news! I tear up thinking back to those days, waiting for our first baby. Such turbulent, emotional times, when I went from being scared out of my mind to feeling I could take on the world and back again. Take your time and build your family. I think you'll find writing can eventually be an outlet to just be you. As a parent, you often end up being "only" a parent. So maybe we'll get to read more from you eventually. I hope so. Also, I'll give you the only piece of advice I give new parents. Take it or leave it... Most things you have to work out on your own and see what suits you. Just remember to be kind to each other and bite your tongue on occasion. I know, it sounds like weird advice, but when you've had three months of no or little sleep it's all too easy to not be very nice. So just be kind. Parenting is the most rewarding and fun (yes fun!) experience ever!

To George So soft the skin beneath my hands I feel So sweet the skin upon you neck I taste The precious love we share runs deep beneath Life’s essence we share unguarded and free My guiding light when darkness clouds my heart And cruelest nighttime falls upon my world My guarding angel though yours I should be With strength to protect and keep you safe So strange and precious belonging to you And be your lover through eternity

Well, now that they have their contract in place, they can start having serious fun... Dorian has got himself quite the sub to handle. Felix's history with that girl and the church group sounds sad. Everyone got hurt and all for nothing...

No not Billy... I'm thinking we haven't really met the killer. Or maybe I just like people too much and want to believe the best about everyone. -

I don't think Kit is the killer. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be law enforcement of some kind. Or a PI. I too suspect that weekend retreat (to which Kit conveniently invited himself...) will reveal a lot of things. Also, Denny's letter and that journal of his. I have to say Ben is growing on me. I've even stopped calling him the brute... The reason Janet likes him must be because he is essentially a good man. Something happened to him to make him question himself (loss of a partner at work?), which has made him difficult to interact with. Also, even if he appears to enjoy the company of men, I think he's still not out. Perhaps because he hasn't met anyone worth coming out for. Until now...? I do hope Billy doesn't end up dead. I'm more concerned about Roland and Lizzie...
