MetaPrompts 593: Aide (MW4)
Puppilull commented on JohnAR's story chapter in MetaPrompts 593: Aide (MW4)
Being married to Will, I can't really fault Samantha for being an easy target. After all, she's only a dumb female... The description of the inner circle lifting each other by adding their respective strengths made me think how great it can be to work together. When people can let go of their own petty agenda. -

These throwbacks are welcome if sometimes adding to my confusion. So Cold had some choice in the matter. Not all manipulation. Good for him. -

Puppilull commented on JohnAR's story chapter in MetaPrompts 589: Hung (MW8)
This ticked so many boxes... Pervy minds think alike... But where will this go? An exciting new experience...? Or an elaborate prank? Close to the edge though. -
MetaPrompts 600: Cell (MW8)
Puppilull commented on JohnAR's story chapter in MetaPrompts 600: Cell (MW8)
Well, if a fucking stupid brat can't keep from fucking outing himself and all the rest in a bout of fucking childish anger, then Max is right to get DI on his fucking ass. Although, amazing Swedish women named Malin are very hard to let go... -

So much sadness in the wake of Fate's manipulations to get things to happen according to plan. I feel sorry for Zef. How different his life could've been. -
Mine! Part Two Chapter Thirty-three
Puppilull commented on Cia's story chapter in Mine! Part Two Chapter Thirty-three
Hmm... That possessive overreaction is not helping Ritch feel like a capable and competent man. As difficult as it is for Park, Ritch won't like being treated like a helpless child for long. I don't think the threat hanging over them changes that. Times are dangerous, but Park will need to step back. -
Diarmad should be able to figure out he's being manipulated and not by Noel. This attempt to hurt Noel must make him wake up. Or for Noel to realize what's going on. Why else would Diarmad react like that at hearing Noel might be going out with Kris?

Finally, Andy! About time to stop carrying that mountain around all by yourself. Still quite the decision to make. I don't think Cheryl is being very fair to Andy. He's been nothing but open about his situation and broke it off when things got too intense. Marcus is a grown man. He will survive a break-up. What would she say to Andy? That he's an idiot? This particular dance had two participants. It doesn't take very much knowledge and imagination to know a Catholic priest will be a mess in a situation like this. To me, it would seem party boy Marcus is far better equipped to handle this.

For a great example of keeping history alive and close, I would suggest people go to Berlin. I've never been to a place where history felt quite as present as it does there. Not just from WW2 but all of their history. A striking blend of celebrating triumph and cautionary tale. The momunents still standing are debated and they try to get new monuments to reflect curent day Germany without losing sight of the past.

Heartbreak and sorrow can be dealt with in many ways. One strategy is to lock yourself away from the world. Perhaps not literally, but still hiding yourself emotionally from others around, just so you won’t experience anything like that ever again. Talin has chosen to do just that, making sure to keep a professional distance to those around him, no matter how supportive they try to be. In his corner of the world, life plods along in a predictable and safe manner. Or it could be if it weren’t for a certain man, Dimitri. A man with an uncanny ability to shake Talin up in seconds. Also a man of quite a few mysteries. This is an action filled novel complete with gangsters and surprising twists. Some of them will have you reading at the speed of light just to know what’s going to happen. Then there is the story of the growing relationship between Talin and Dimitri, written in a way that you feel the attraction they have for each other, even though it really isn’t a good idea to get involved. So much is at stake. But who can fight a pull like that? It’s a fast-paced story and yet Lilansui takes the time to add those extra lines to give you atmosphere and a feel to the surroundings. The description of a strand of hair, the play of the setting sun over a face is just right. If the mood strikes for a sort of noir feel story with romance to boot, read A healing heart!

When it’s that time of year, with hearts everywhere and everyone acting so lovey-dovey it’s making the air turn pink or red, what do you do if your reality doesn’t fit in? If your life has taken a completely unforeseen turn, leaving you feeling disappointed, lonely and perhaps even despairing? A story that deals with these less written about sides to this thing we call love can be such a relief. If that story is friggin’ well written as well, things are looking up. Mike who is fighting an uneven battle to get over the boyfriend who dumped him. When that infamous date rolls around, he finds the sadness flares up and seeks ways to deal with it. One remedy turns out to be the one to lead him on his way. But where will it take him? This is a truly bittersweet story telling us life isn’t always a bed of roses. I think it’s important to not lose sight of that. It’s actually somehow comforting to know bad stuff will happen, but you will be OK. A bit scarred perhaps, but OK.

If you are looking for a story that can't be boxed in so easily, look no further! As usual, Lilansui's story is a mix of action and love, with characters that aren't always doing the right or sensible thing. In short, they are despite their circumstances very human. You read with sweaty palms and an increasing need to get to the end, kept in a state of guessing what will happen. So give it a try!

writing tip Writing Tip: Speech Tags

This was very helpful! I wrestle with the speech tags quite a lot, mostly trying to avoid them. But that can get repetitive and unnatural if overdone. So thanks! -
Mine! Part Two Chapter Thirty-two
Puppilull commented on Cia's story chapter in Mine! Part Two Chapter Thirty-two
Wise choice to wait. Both because of injuries and Ritch's history. -
As regards your question, I don't think I can choose a side. They are both in the middle of an emotional maelstrom and can't be expected to act maturely. Is it fair to ask Marcus to graciously step away from someone he has fallen in love with? Should Andy just suck it up and get over himself, leaving the church for a guy he's known only a short while? What kind of expectations do we have on people? It's unrealistic.

Hmm... I have practically earned all those badges.

Marcus needs to realise Andy wouldn't be just colliding with his beliefs. He would have to leave his profession, one that he worked hard for. He can't remain a priest and have a sexual partner. Male might be worse, but a female wouldn't do either. And i can see how Marcus' frustration can cause him to lash out at Andy, when his attempt at reconciliation crashed and burned.

They are all in way over their heads. I really hope the doc can help. Otherwise, they're doing Galen a bear's favor as we say in Sweden. A favor that is in fact not a favor at all...

Ginger: How's it hangin'? Gray: Shut up and help me! Ginger: I thought we were supposed to hang out together... Gray: For the love of herring, do something! Ginger: Hang on... Gray: I will kill you!

The next chapter better not be a face in to morning after... And when will Nathan and Bryce finally talk?

Not Lost, Not Wondering, Just Not Sure Where I Am
Puppilull commented on JayT's blog entry in Randomnicity (aka Jay's thoughts)
Hmm... Difficult to give advise, but I say definitely don't work more than they pay you for. Especially if you've informed them the job can't be done in only 5 hours/day. Can you survive on the lower salary? Then perhaps it's worth giving the company more time to sort things out. However, no one will thank you for being loyal and getting the job done when you end up sick or exhausted from stress and guilt. So look out for yourself, no matter what they "promise" you. Vestigia terrent as the saying goes. Springing this on you like that is not a good sign. They could be using your dedication to do a good job and then never hire you full time again. So look out for no 1, meaning you. No one else will... -
Sweet surrender to a force more powerful than RaHyun! But they still have to work some things out. All in good time. They should just kiss for now!

So funny to follow their little dance! Both slowly gravitating towards each other, all the while denying it. The suspense is mounting!
