I so hope the zoo work will work out! A perfect spot for Jian, as long as he can disguise his sort of uncanny ability to talk to the animals. Although, in my experience 'animal people' have a way to accept almost anything as long as it means the animals are happy and healthy... Besides, the existence of shifters is so unbelievable they won't suspect that.
  2. Ahhh... Boys! I'm sure you would have rocked your outfits! But I can understand it can be a bit much if no one else is dressed up...

Joel takes such pride in his work and to meet someone who goes against everything he's ever been taught and believe must be infuriating. I think the fact that it was a cop during an interview was a bigger trigger than the actual words or hints... And lucky for Officer Asshat that Lucas was there! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  4. Finally! I have been so curious about Matt's family for so long and now they turn out to be very reasonable and sane people. Really nice actually! I'm very happy for Matt and Parker. They no longer have to hide their love. At least not at home. It must be such a relief. I doubt I can even imagine that feeling. Great chapter!

    Chapter 2

This is interesting. Nathan seemed to indicate a little more than simply casual interest in Liam. And what happens if Alek actually makes changes to his life and comes out to his family and girlfriend? He really should break up with her anyway. It could be difficult choice, given his feeling for Alek. And he should have enough help, if he just dares to ask.

    Chapter 14

That was gruesome... And all in vain, if Kiorl is right. His careful planning and then nothing. He really doesn't know how to connect. Lahja is in no position to help either. Two lost demons.
  7. Oh, Park has to rein in his feelings and tread so very carefully. Like approaching a wild animal. No sudden movements... And no guarantee Ritch will ever return his affection. A true test of character.
  8. So intense! A very good excerp to represent the story. Not that it's always daggers wielded around. Just a lot of things going on and much of it under the surface.
  9. Kind of fun to see Tim and Cynus playing catch in the reviews right now. Tim is binging big time!

Yes. Yes I do love Joel. In a platonic and non-weird way of course...! And he can only take so much (unless it's Lucas doing the giving ). I share your hope and I believe so, based on the police officers I've met in life. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  11. I might be way off here, but the whole having a secret no 'human' is allowed to find out... Couldn't that also be connected to a feeling of being on the outside as a gay person in regular society? Many shifter stories focus on the lonely outsider human, lost on the world until they find their 'pack'. Then again, feeling like an oddity at times and not having somewhere to belong is quite universal. We are more or less herd animals...

Maybe Lucas will be in touch with the department. Joel is probably too loyal to cops, even those of the as shat variety, to do so. Or they can just sick Pierce on the guy. He'll wish he'd never been born... There are more coming. Just hold on! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

    Story

I'm not very religious myself and I agree that so much horror has been caused in the name of religion. That said, I do have religious friends who interpret their god in a very different and loving way. Also, they get a lot of support from their faith in troubled times, something I envy them on occasion. To me Valentine is one of the good ones, but that is of course up for interpretation as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

    Chapter 1

Yes, that ending is challenging. I don't think it would have been my choice either, but we're all different. And who knows what happens in a year's time? Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  15. That's true. One of those flash of inspiration stories that sort of wrote itself and I didn't really have a say... A dabble in sci fi light. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I'm glad I could bring your idea into writing in a satisfying way! I might work slow sometimes, but I never forget a good idea. An angry Joel would be scary and aweinspiring. A bit like a bear on its hind legs. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Very kind words! And I'm sure Gunderson is very relieved about Lucas' 'power' over Joel. The big guy doesn't lose it very often, but when he does it's best to run for cover! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And stick around... There's more in the so called pipeline. Some hot, some sweet. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  20. Oh, do try it! It's so much more than a crime story. To follow that group of boys on their way to becoming friends and more (?) is exhilarating.
  21. I suddenly had an idea for April Fool's last night. It could actually be a true short story! And wouldn't you know it! It just hit me I made and ate copious amounts of lasagna! Too funny!
  22. Happy birthday!

“Well, it’s not like we have a choice. They did say they wanted to talk to us first thing today.” Frowning, Joel sat down on their bed next to Lucas who lay newly awakened tangled in the sheets. He gave his boyfriend a stern look as he rubbed his head to dry his hair after his shower. What was Lucas suggesting? Stay away from a police inquiry? “Maybe they only meant it figuratively…? I’m too tired...” The sound of Lucas’ whining had Joel roll his eyes. Lucas changed track. “Besides, we should s

    Chapter 4

This is turning into a nailbiter of a story! I can practically see the action before me as it happens. What a tempo! Just the right amount of description to let us know what is going on but without weighing down the text with too much detail. And a nice twist at the end, letting Daven be the expert for a while. He probably needs that now, to feel more in control. Kian sure is an enigma. A self sacrificing assassin...? Complex doesn't even begin to describe him.
