Now that is quite the environment to grow up in for a cat among dogs... No matter how much the brothers love Cory, I find it hard to believe they will go through that uber macho life unaffected by prejudice. Still, it's the father who seems to set the tone here. Then again, I guess you have several surprises for us along the way. I'm down for the ride! -
Daniel doesn't strike me as a puppy, more like a young horse ready to bolt at any time. I think Julie's right. They need to play this carefully and not spook him. So Michael better get his protective instincts under control and let her take the lead on this. The gang seems determined to adopt Daniel, so his number of friends is on the rise. Good for him.

As for scents, I believe they never left, but is a cruel rest by Fate. DNA is a tricky one. I can't really come up with a good theory other than Alex wanting to meddle with the samples. Was it necessary to remove one sample perhaps?

Well, I reread Sane and I still feel it's a nightmare of the kind Colt has had since the beginning. Doubting his life is his life, with the IC and his role in the story. The prompt is peppered with bits from Meta, the cast of characters, the fruit scents, a husky, Warren's badge number, the concept of shadowing... I can't see all these things having any combined meaning for anyone but Colt. The warped time line mixing everything feels very much like a dream, the brain cooking up something from encountered facts mixed with insecurities and doubt in the person having the dream. For me, I can't see Jeffrey as needing any kind of treatment. He's very good at humoring his mom and making her believe he's firmly in her corner.

Feels like David is at a crossroads and he doesn't know which way to go. He's seeing things, real or imagined, making him question his life. It's a good thing, I guess. Just don't make any decisions until he's spoken to Mike. I really think he loves David. Is he enough though? Can he change his work life to suit David? Should he have to? Or is David having unrealistic expectations? Tricky business relationships...

You know I favor that reclining 8. Or is that 8 in repose? There have been several unrefusable offers in Meta. So far they've been declined. Unless of course it's Colt offering the beer. Then Gavin would open up and swallow...

Oh, to have someone play you a fugue... There's something special about church organs. The setting adds to the music. I so much enjoy their slow but increasingly closer dance. What could be in that shopping bag...?

Thank you all again! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since you've been nothing but supportive. Already when I published those first trembling haikus, because I couldn't resist AC's poetry prompts and then writing about my little vampire in 'Finders, keepers', I felt embraced by you all. Such a great feeling! -
I think it's so weird the voters can't distinguish between Dorian and his father and realise they are two different people. We never see family and certainly not kids here in Sweden. The very idea of campaigning like that is unthinkable. Besides, what is so bad? To have a son, who might not share his father's views but is an independent young man making stand up choices and supporting himself? Yeah, that sounds just awful... I hope Dorian keeps his mind made up. He needs to be himself. All the time.

I feel we can't be too hard on Prime and the IC. For Colt to turn into a vampire would be like my hubby suddenly turning out to be a sadistic murderer. I love him like crazy, but that's sort of a deal breaker. There would be very little room for rational conversation... Didn't they mention Bradley scenting Colt in the last chapter?

Usual Meta rewrites apply of course. Can't really see Colt handling matters of the heart by stealing cars either.

And Prime needs to wake up and realise that since Bradley can smell Colt, the missing scents are just another cruel test by Fate. One he's dangerously close to failing... Maybe Fate needs them to understand it's not an addiction to scents, but something else. Declarations of love are nice, but where is his declaration of loyalty? Perseverance?

Glad they got all that off their chests. Maybe now they can begun to build a true 'we'. Together and heading in the same direction. I can't help wondering though, if Luc will show up unexpectedly...

What a cool way to handle things by their dad! He reminds me of my mom. She never told me or my brother we couldn't do things. Just made sure we thought about things. I wonder what happened to Donny...? On one hand, I don't want him to be hurt by his best friend, but the thought of him injuring himself is worse somehow. That level of self hate is so sad.

Oh, Daniel... So used to being alone he doesn't know what to do when someone reaches out for him. I hope he manages to thank Michael in school eventually.
