  1. You have a gift at making me love your characters. Dalton hurt Caleb, but came through for him in the end. I also like that Caleb didn’t immediately jump into things with Dalton. He had been hurt and his distrust was to be expected. Their path won’t always be smooth, but in the end I think they have what it takes and will put the work in to have a happy and successful relationship. Well done, Gary

    The Cat Crusades

Aww I just want to hug Sam and make him feel better. Bullying can cause some terrible repercussions, and I admit I was worried about about he was planning too, but his attack kittens were unexpected

    A Weed

I’ve heard that too. We usually find it easier to believe the bad rather than the good, but any time you need a boost, we’re here

    A Weed

    This is beautiful, Leão

    A Weed

As others have said, there is such sadness in this, but know you are welcome here
  6. Thats the nice thing about slowing down... you see more
  7. A lovely ode to winter, pointing out the beauty that we sometimes miss as we pull up our hoods to try to ward off the chill. I loved the last line “As life slows down to cold molasses”

    Choices

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  9. Photographs.. capturing a moment that remind us of days gone by. They can either bring a smile or a tear, but will always bring a memory. Beautifully written, Gary
  10. Loved it! They finally get to move home, and every nuance and every description was about just that... home. I can see them creating a lifetime of memories there. Now they just need to bring home the girls tonight, and their little boy very soon. This chapter made me smile from beginning to end. Thank you. Oh and I adore Mrs B I was worried and sad for her when she described what happened, but she’s a tough bird. Nothing will keep her down for long. She makes a wonderful addition to the family of the heart our two boys have brought together.
  11. I finally finished my story outline today!! I know that doesn't mean I'm ready to post, but it does mean my mojo has come back and I'm actually ready to start writing actual chapters again!
  12. It’s great to see this feature back . Thank you for taking this on, Renee, and great responses @Hudson Bartholomew And @Timothy M. As one of the flock cheeping after Tim for more, I was thrilled to see him featured here. Hudson... your work is on my reading list. I’ve heard very good things
  13. When I look at this issue I have a different opinion as an author than I do as a reader. I read ravenously.. here and elsewhere, and as a reader I like to check reviews to see overall what was said about the writing and the viability of the plot, etc. An ‘I liked it’ isn’t particularly helpful except that I at least know the reader did like the book. The star ratings also help me, so I do appreciate those. Conversely, as author my opinion is that I appreciate any comment or review a reader might choose to leave, regardless of how long or short it is. I appreciate even a thumbs up emoji with no other words being said. Long story short... I see both sides of this issue, but I think the social nature of GA, and the interaction and friendships between authors and readers, means that most reviews will not be the same as you might find on Goodreads or other book/story sites.
  14. It’s difficult for me, as a parent, to think of releasing my kids into the world knowing how dark and cruel it can sometimes be. Like Dugh, I was relieved to know these weren’t quite that close to home for you. Both poems are hard to read, but they ring a sad truth out there. Sometimes all you can do is to be there to help someone pick up the broken pieces as best you can
  15. This is one of my favourites and I’ve read it several times. There are things that made me angry about the characters’ behaviour and actions (any good story will evoke some sort of emotion, right?), but overall it very well written and will continue to be a standing ‘read again’ for me Great job, Tim!
  16. I remember reading this story with a smile on my face from beginning to end. It was a sweet tale that I would recommend to anyone who wants to bring a little whimsy and fun into their day.
  17. This was a great and informatative blog. Thank you for this. Like with tim’s story link, I know of businesses in my area that hire people with Down syndrome. The Wendy’s and one of the grocery stores in town come immediately to mind. I’ve always found that if you give people a chance they will rise to the challenge and may even surprise you.

    Epilogue

Thank you! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the story. I really appreciate your comments and your support.
  19. This is despairing and angry and perfectly expresses how I feel when I read and see what’s going on in the world today.
  20. This is one of my favourite shifter stories out there. It’s so easy to get trapped in the cliche with shifter storylines, but @Headstall did a fine job of writing a tale that was unique and interesting. Gary also managed to create another two men who were completely swoon worthy a wonderful review of a great story. Excellent job @Wicked Witch
  21. The first leaves me feeling sad, but with a feeling of resolve and strength. The person will survive, and be stronger in the end Hahahaha aww poor Falkor. Veranda dragons and skunks don’t mix. Are you sure don’t want to give him a snuggle?
  22. The absolute best news I've heard today!!! Congratulations, Gary. I am beyond thrilled for you!!

    No Brakes

Excellent second chapter. I’m liking the colonel more and more. I like a guy who wouldn’t order someone to do something he’s not willing to do himself. Now the question is, who was being the accident?
  24. These made me chilly and wanting a sweater and slippers. I also want to get out and walk the forest looking at the changing leaves. Beautiful images, my friend
