The Horse on the Iceberg
Reader1810 commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in The Horse on the Iceberg
tim, that was so good! I want to say a lot about what I've read, but it seems to be stuck in my head only coming out in disjointed thoughts. So, I'm just going to say this. tim, what you wrote is insightful and and profound. I see a lot of things here and I've just read it once. I think I'll have more things to ponder and appreciate as I read it again and again. Well done tim, really well done! PS: I'm really glad you dusted this off and allowed us to read it - hope it didn't make you sneeze. -

@BlindAmbition Congrats on doing a wonderful “first time” review, jp. I’ve read this story, but if I hadn’t, your review would have put it in my Read column quite quickly, I think. I look forward to reading more reviews from you. -

I really enjoyed reading this story. -
Your words bring back kodachrome memories for me as well, Mac. I really like this, especially because it’s so relatable. I wonder, who else remembers those little triangle corners we used to affix our memories to album pages? Oh, this came to mind as well...

Got the Notification for this and readied my tea to enjoy as I read chapter one. Guess what? I was so engrossed in reading this great start, I forgot all about the tea. Hope it’s not gone cold... 😛 Nope, not cold, and it just shows how good Promises is that I forgot about everything else but these words.

A bit mystical, a bit magical. Just what are Sam and his “kin”? Looking forward to hearing Sam’s “long story”. PS: I can’t say why exactly, but the MC’s name - Finn - drew me in like a moth to a flame the first time I read it. I really, really like it, and in turn, I feel very positive about him as a person. Fingers crossed my thought are on the right track. Excellent start, tim! Counting the days to the release of chapter two...

I haven't read this as yet, but having read all the wonderful reviews, I'm thinking this story is perfect for a binge read.

What a wonderful way to express Sunday as a feeling, AC it!

You speak of my world just as I see it. Perhaps our world is why I have an insatiable need to walk amongst Nature’s living things marvelling at a baby bunny never minding that I must alter my path so I dare not disturb it while it breakfasts... Very vivid and very well described, tim. I can see it all in my mind’s eye. As always, nicely done.

May CSR Feature: Lie of the Serpent by Craftingmom
Reader1810 commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
As it is with all of craftingmom’s stories - be they long or short - this story is exceptionally well written and has an engaging and engrossing plot. I haven’t reread it as yet, but then I still remember much of the story - that’s what happens when you read something really good... If you haven’t read this, then give it a go. I guarantee, you’ll be hooked in no time. Alternatively, try another of craftingmom’s stories, you won’t be disappointed.- 8 comments

Not a Pekin duck, but I think the Pekins excitement - that is easily felt when reading about their actions - is very well expressed here. https://m.imgur.com/cbDJ5yG?r

Okay, I’m back. And sorry @BHopper2 that’s me cutting the onions... Excellent story, tim, but I have to say I was starting to get a little mad at Derek for what would have been his abandonment of the little Pekins. Describing how they swam in earnest after seeing food land in their feeder really brought them and their dependence on Derek to life - live in technicolour. And strangely, I felt the abandonment for the pear trees, too. Yes, I know, that’s a little weird - the tree part that is. Anyway, I’m glad in the end that Derek was able to see the folly in his planned actions. Glad too that he reached out to their son. He has a lot to live for. Have to say, it’s come to me just this second that I’d like to see more of Derek and his world. That’s entirely up to you, though tim. I just had to put my musing out there. In not a lot of words you’ve brought a wonderful character with an interesting history to life. Well done on that score, well done!

Haven’t read the story as yet, but I just had to say, “what a hodgepodge that list of words is”. Now, I need to read this piece to see what tim made of this list. One thing I do know - it’s going to be good!
-
And I was right, tim. They are brilliant in their construct and for the message they impart.

I first heard about this book when I was a teenager - so many moons ago - but I never had the desire to read it. Mind you, I never knew what it was about either. Maybe I should give it a look...

Sorry, but this made me giggle. Having said that, I’ll be back later when I can read your words thoroughly and properly. I have no doubt they are brilliant.

I love oatmeal, so I do plan on trying it. Have to buy the ingredients first, which I will do this weekend. I have steel cut oats, but I think those oat flakes are too fine for this.- 26 comments

Oops, forgot about this. Thanks for the reminder , molly. And, for showing - though, really I know he does know what he’s talking about - through example that tim has latched onto something good, so I should give it a try.- 26 comments

When Pigs Fly, A Lich Dies
Reader1810 commented on comicfan's story chapter in When Pigs Fly, A Lich Dies
Great take on the idiom, comicfan. From ferocious beasts to itty bitty flies... Good characters and a good plot. Well done! -
Great story Puppi. Now for the next chapter....I mean, Eric has to get his comeuppance, doesn’t he?
