  2. Hey tim The first one hits close to home for me because I remember that look and that day only too well. As for the second one, does the sparrow pity you, really? He just might if you're inside working while he's outside in the fresh air doing what he wants. The imagery these words invoke in both poems is vivid and strong in my mind's eye. As always, nicely done tim.
  3. Patrick was blessed to have the parent's he did. They gave him a wonderful childhood and kept it from being marred by not exposing him to his nasty relatives. Sometimes the best family is the one we make ourselves, be it on purpose or by circumstance. After a lonely five years Patrick has the love he received from his parent's back and then some. With all this happiness, I wonder if the mention of the less than loving relatives spells trouble for their future. I hope not, but even if one of them tries to do this family wrong, I think they will be able to weather the storm that comes. They are a strong family unit and with their growing circle of friends, I'd say they would be a force to be reckoned with. Oh, and Michael was his usual adorable self what with the early morning snuggle, the queries about the rings and his reactions to the kiss.
  4. Happy Birthday!!

    Wait and Blind

Hey tim You don't mince words, you don't seek to manipulate you just speak the truth. Your words tell an important story that everyone should both hear and listen to. I am constantly and forever impressed by your skill with words. To think what you produced these poems at 20 with little or no formal training is a testament to the inherent skill that is within you. As always, nicely done.
  6. Happy Birthday Graeme!!

    This Life

I really appreciated the way in which Dragon handled CJ's rant about the bad things he has experienced this past year as if they outweighed the good. It's amazing how receptive kids can be if you talk to them person-to-person rather than as adult to child. Kudos to Cesar and Brett for calling him in and letting him have that tough talk with CJ rather than dealing with it on their own. Felix was incredibly ignorant regarding his comments to CJ and he should have manned up and apologized himself rather than having Janelle do it for him. I do get that he was probably scared of CJ who is bigger and stronger and a few members of his posse are usually always around too, but he was wrong and he needs deal with the mess he made on his own. Lucky for him, I think the news that Bradley and Patrick are moving to D.C. is going to put CJ in a better frame of mind. As for Tom being nervous about the full time dad gig looming on the horizon (when is that going to happen btw? Hmm?) he has plenty of back up with JP, Cesar and Brett ready to talk him off the ledge if needed. Great chapter Carlos!

  11. Thanks Tim! I just bought it because of your post.
  12. I almost forgot about this because it got knocked off my Notifications list (sorry, my brain is kind of a out of sight out of mind kinda brain ) I do recall posting about the shenanigans during breakfast. It was an instant delight so I had to mention it right away as I recall. Anyhoo, just skimmed the chapter to remind myself about all the goodies it contained - the frolicking, the snowball fight, the frolicking, the headless snowman, the frolicking, the Cavanaugh sweaters, the frolicking... Oh, and the awesome gifts that Bodie and Nate gave to each other. Are you sure they're only in their teens? I have to say the only thing that leaves me wanting is that this amazing bunch of people aren't real. Life would be sweet with them in it, don't you think? As always Gary, nicely done.

    The Fuse

Despite of a lousy start to CJ's New York trip, I'm glad things settled down and he was able to enjoy himself with Chipper, Christina and Doc. Speaking of Doc, what a cool guy he is taking a six teenagers to lunch. Christina is a great too and I really like how she can hold her own with the boys. There's also that bit about her conversing with Bradley. I wonder where that is headed? Hmm. I've never been to New York and never really felt a need or desire to go there either. Not surprising, your descriptions of the place - as you have done for previous locales - has me changing my tune a bit. Maybe someday, I'll go... Great chapter Carlos. I am looking forward to is CJ's return to Walls and the ensuing fallout from the mess that was Jose-Maria and Bernardo. I wonder if a flak jacket or a reinforced bunker can save J-M from Harley's wrath - me thinks he is going to be one very pissed off BFF!
  14. I've been wanting to read this story for a while now. I think it's about time I did.
  15. Nothing really ominous in this chapter except maybe the boyfriend's having to work late. As soon as I read that passage, the warning bells started ringing. I really don't have a good feeling about that situation. As for Simon Peter, I'm curious as to what role he will play in this story.
  16. It's only just begun and I'm nervous already. Uh oh...
  17. Hey tim I'm having lots of different thoughts about this story, but what leaps out at me is the generosity of Bobby's heart. He had so little, but what he did have he shared with others. He took care of Damian without complaint putting his needs before his own. He picked up Mr. Behrman's 'medicine' without comment or censure. It was just the 'right thing to do'. I didn't read the prompt so I don't know if Bobby's attitude was a product of that, but I see it more as a product of your personal philosophy from the things you've said about what you see as being important and of value. As for the correlation between the last leaf and Mr. Behrman's passing, I see that but I'm just not sure if it's a coincidence or there is some deeper connection. I gather there was a connection as far as Mr. Behrman was concerned. As always, nicely done.
