Hey tim Another terrific instalment of "Out of His Mind" Obviously, some time has passed and Tait is slowly improving in his recovery from the attack by Sean. With his growing confidence and restlessness to get on with this life, he goes to see his former employer and lover Leonardo. It was with trepidation that I followed Tait's journey to Leo's office. I wasn't sure if it was going to go well or cause a setback in Tait's recovery. Leo is not the prima donna I thought he might have been, but a warm and caring man. He knows he lost out with Tait, but rather than pushing away a reminder of his mistake, he embraces Tait's return. Downplaying the significance of his scar and creating a men's line that Tait will be the face of says a lot for his character. Leo and Phil have both expressed regret over not admitting to themselves or Tait how they really felt about him and both feel the guilt that staying silent put Tait in Sean's crosshairs. I think they will both do their utmost to assuage their guilt so Sean better watch out - Tait has some formidable allies in these two, I do believe. As always, nicely done tim

So this review has been a long time coming, but I just thought of something that I might otherwise have missed if I'd done the review earlier. This has has nothing to do with my revelation, but I just wanted to say that I really liked that Cesar offered to have Christina visit with them along with Chipper for Thanksgiving. I thought that was a very kind, considerate and caring gesture on his part. Now for the revelation. CJ When CJ came to town due to familial circumstances his introduction and inclusion into a new "family" was the work of his dads'. His school acclimation and friendships with his peers was thanks to Harley's paving the way. Not that he couldn't have managed on his own, Harley just made it that much easier. Chipper Initially, what I was going to remark on focussed on CJ and Chipper's time at the canal. They played like the teenagers they are, but they also had a serious heart-to-heart. That they could interact on both levels was really good in my opinion. Now I realize that when Chipper talked about missing his mom and sister as well as his school friends, it dawned on me that his life was paralleling CJ's to some extent. Only this time it's CJ in Harley's role. CJ, Matt and the dads are pitching in on the familial front. Who would have ever thought that CJ and Harley could be so similar? Great chapter Carlos! So wishing it was Friday already...

Jared reminds me of a shrub that grows in my parents garden called Pachysandra. Many years ago, while they were away I was left in charge of watching over the house and yard while they were away. Well didn't I just have an "Oh crap!!" moment when I found those shrubs flat as a pancake on the ground. I thought I had let them die. I watered them and hoped for the best. To my great relief, they were all standing tall and proud the next day. See what a little water can do? In that analogy, Jared is the plant and Craig is the water. Jared's spirit was withering away and Craig's love came to the rescue and made everything right again. Someone else might have been able to do it, but I think Craig possessed the necessary ingredients to make Jared truly come alive. On another note..loved the "proposal", the house plans (making it a home with Bailey's needs in mind) and Craig wearing Jared's shirt (the closenes it brought him). As always, nicely done Gary. Thank you.

It was a great idea that Nick had, wasn't it? tim, I really enjoyed your answer to Nick's question. It was sweet and funny. And so totally true to the Faris and James that we all know and love. The smurf references throughout were very amusing with the final one making this reader go "aww, that's so sweet". As always, nicely done.

I have to say I am very pleased that Patrick and Peter are both mature enough to be on the same page about where their relationship is headed and how it should get there. It bodes well for the staying power of their relationship in the future. Love the commentary and shenanigans courtesy of the angel and the imp. As for them coming to an agreement, how could they not? There is no denying Patrick and Peter are meant to be together. It will be interesting to see what becomes of the family members mentioned (and spoken to in this chapter) I have a good feeling about Fiona and the as yet unnamed nephew. Peter's sister may be excitable, but I have a good feeling about her too...I am sure she always means well. As for negative forces disguised as relatives, I'm thinking there will be one or two of those as well. Nicely done Tim. I just wish it was next Sunday already...

Love, love, loved it! Alright, I wasn't so keen about Stefan ( ) but that surprise ending was awesome! And a relief... Looks like Daniel has found his HEA with the perfect guy.

Hey tim It took me a while to to start reading this chapter because, frankly, I didn't want to read about Sean and how repugnant he is. Having read the chapter, I must say you have done an excellent job writing his character with just a subltle undertone of his true nature showing. If this had been in chapter one, I think I wouldn't have looked so deeply to find meanings or ulterior motives in his words or actions. Poor Phil, I now see how he came to feel guilt over what happened to Tait. If only, he had been more forcefull in his warnings... If only, he had told Tait how he really felt... He really isn't to blame, but his being a decent and caring man bring about these feelings. Not to mention being in love with Tait because it must be terrible to see the one you love hurt so much. As always, nicely done.

Hey tim I'd take self-deprecating humbleness over a braggart's shouts any day of the week. I read AC's review and agree with him 100 percent. I mean, you have me reading poetry for goodness sakes, so you must be doing something right.... As always, nicely done.

It's not always easy being the strong one. But, then again, the "reasons" you are the strong one make it worth the sacrifice, don't they? You let us see both sides of you...a gift we hold dear and will never take for granted... :hug:

Everything is falling into place so nicely. I guess the one change in Peter's plan is that he no longer has to find a place for him, Michael or is aunt to live. I foresee them all living happily in Patrick's home. I see the aunt becoming a parental figure something which Patrick misses dearly. It has been commented on already, but I just want to add my two cents about Patrick's new extended family. I had forgotten about his family...apart from his parents, that is...and how "not family" they were. It will be good for Patrick to have this new bunch in his life as I have a feeling they are all good people.

That was beautiful and amazingly right too. As for moving them slowly, this wasn't too fast I don't think. The feelings between Craig and Jared are strong enough to handle it. As always, nicely done Gary.

Yes, it's very nice. As for Mike, there are tall men out there, but his height isn't that common so he would get people looking even if was just surreptitiously.

Speaking of good news, I saw a gay couple in the drugstore yesterday with their two young kids. A beautiful sight and not one odd or unwelcome look from anyone...really nice that was.

Hey tim You had me going there for a bit thinking that a HEA was possible for Sam and Jason. In the end, it was obvious that they had travelled the same road too many times but never went anywhere. As Gary mentioned the loss of eight years is sad, but as the saying goes 'better late than never'. It's not the HEA I was looking but it was time for them to move on so that they can both find happiness - just like in the real world. This is the second story I have read using this Prompt and I liked your interpretation very much. As always, nicely done.

Hey tim The imagery of your words makes this poem come alive in my mind's eye. I can see it all...the details so vivid. This is a sad tale for the one who was lost but I love "listening" to the little girl with the indomitable spirit. In face of daunting odds, she keeps going and never gives up. Her reward at the end seems small but it is, in fact, beyond measure, isn't it? As always, nicely done.

Just took a peek at B's review and now I've got The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News looping in my brain...thank goodness I like the song especially since it explains Candy's new attitude (no "pun" intended though I did watch the Patti LaBelle video after I had that thought...ok focussing now, back to the review). It is good to see how something positive can change things for the better. Candy is happy now and that has grounded her and given her a stability and peace of mind that she didn't have before. She may not even have realized that's what she was looking for when she was pursuing Michael, but I think that was her goal. From what we know of her family, it doesn't seem like she had it growing up either what with a strict minister father, competitive sisters and I'm guessing a mom who followed dad's lead. Of course, I can't forget about Nodie because they always make me smile no matter if they're being silly or serious. I did have this thought though, I just hope that when Nate's family do move, they find a house within a stone's throw of Bodie and the uncles. As always, nicely done Gary.

It was nice to see that there is improvement on the homefront for Bradley and Patrick. Having their mom date a man who sees nothing wrong with being gay is a good positive influence for the boys. Loved the quiet early morning chat between CJ and Patrick. I'm not sure if Patrick would have felt comfortable asking that question around the other quys. He was looking for a serious answer and getting teased or kidded about asking something the others might think was silly and obvious would not have been helpful. As for his drink of coffee and cocoa (hot chocolate here in Canada), that's my favourite....had one while reading this chapter, in fact (already in progress before I got to that part ) CJ and Chipper was an interesting development. Is he just curious or is this the start of something? Time will tell.... Excellent chapter Carlos...I need (as my niece would say) more please

Hey tim Both Tait and Phil are hurting in the aftermath of the attack on Tait. Now that they are together I'm wondering if they will help each other with the healing process? I think that they will and it will only serve to bring them closer together. The flashback to what and how Sean came to be in North America was really well done. Sure, there may have been warning signs, but like all good manipulators, Sean was able to talk his way past them. This chapter has raised some questions, but instead of asking for answers now, I'm going to wait and see what happens as the story progresses ... and I think I might have just answered one as I sit here thinking about. I wonder if I am correct in my assumption? As always, nicely done.
