Chapter 11 Poetry Prompt 7- Michael's Ode to Kendall
Reader1810 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 Poetry Prompt 7- Michael's Ode to Kendall
Didn't know "Michael" had it in him to compose such a poem. But, then again, Kendall is quite the inspiration. As always, nicely done Gary. -
I'm surprised at you Drew. Surely a math aficionado like yourself would have the complete (6 seasons) set of Numbers on DVD. I would think a math genius using math to solve crimes for the FBI would be right up your alley. The "whiteboard" equations alone are something to behold.

It is obvious throughout the entire chapter that Kendall and Michael's love for one another is solid and will never waver. They have just too much love for each other for it to ever stop no matter what happens. Candy's having chosen Kendall as her birthing partner, could have put Michael’s nose out of joint, but it didn’t because of his love for Kendall and the child they consider know to be “their” son. The repeated viewing of the ultrasound video was endearing. The love scene was beautifully staged. Again, we were witness to the love and trust these two men share. It couldn’t have been sweeter. As always, thanks Gary for the wonderful images and memories

There are so many ways this could go right with the fingerprint discovery, but so many ways for...... Never mind, not going there. The anticipation of seeing MD's plan being blown to smithereens is building with each chapter. I can't wait to see how this all plays out.

That short piece being autobiographical magnifies the poignancy of the events. It was horrifyingly sad but at the same time, very powerful. Well done!

One day left before MD's nefarious plots reaches it gruesome climax. What or who will it take to put a stop to her hideous machinations? I can't see how it will go but I liked forward to watching all of her carefully laid plans are blown to smithereens and she is left knowing that Bryan hates her. Rather bloodthirsty, I know, but this is not a soap opera so her bad behaviour cannot be excused away by a brain tumour.

Wow. Loved the way the story was told. Would have really loved for Joel to have read further, but I guess he had had enough Aletheia for one day. As the saying goes "truth hurts". Really well done Prompt. Some more would good, if you've got the time

Lots of little disjointed clues from Eddie. Hoping there will be a conversation with Sarah regarding the visit. Maybe, she would be able to see the trees despite the forest...

Happy Birthday!

This chapter was perfect showcase of CJ's exemplary character, his sense of justice by doing the right thing and his loyalty to those he holds dear. Loved the injections of the "behind closed doors" with the dads - they are excellent sources of important tidbits of information regarding our boy CJ. I agree with Def, regarding CJ's being forced to leave Miami as likely being the best thing that ever happened to him. I think I can say with certainly that if he had stayed in Miami, he would be nowhere near the person he is today or who he will become in the future. As always, Carlos

Chapter 10 Prompt 13-Ghazal- Soaring
Reader1810 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 10 Prompt 13-Ghazal- Soaring
I tried something a little different this time, to see what would happen. What was that that tried? Well, I thought how would it sound read aloud? It amplified the meaning of the words, I think. The feelings and emotions were that much more profound. Powerful writing Gary. -
drp, I, for one, am glad that you brought this story back to the forefront. It is a wonderful tale. Not only because of the cat's heroics, but as a reminder to us all, how loyal our pets can be. You can bet that little boy and his parents will remember that event forever.
-
That was really really good. I'm torn. I would like to know more, but leaving it to our imagination adds to the spookiness of the tale. I think it would be good if you took on another Prompt.

I saw the video soon after this incident happened and it really is quite extraordinary. I'm glad there is a video as I'm not sure if anyone would believe it if they hadn't seen proof. PS Cats aren't lazy and aloof. Years ago, I had a cat that would wait on the front porch for me to come home from work. As soon as I pulled in the driveway, he would come down to greet me. Makes me just thinking about him and how affectionate he was.

I read the entire series and really enjoyed it. I only wish there was more... thank you you for your wonderful review.

Chapter 9- Prompt 13-Ghazal- Love In Spirit

No surprise So lucky are we, that you share your gift. -
Awesome video and awesome nurse too

MD - not going to waste keyboard strokes on that sorry excuse for a human being. Poor sweet Eddie. Being used by his mother to do terrible things. I'm glad it's been confirmed that he is only doing what his mother tells him because of his love for Bryan...yeah and the mother too. Though with her, I don't think he has forgotten what she did to him, so maybe its more like approval with her. Love triumphs over approval, doesn't it? My hope is that Sarah encourages Bryan to go see Eddie as a distraction for missing Wyatt at which time, there is an all important "conversation" between the brothers. The only thing is, I think I would have better luck wishing for unicorns to rescue Wyatt at this early stage in the story. I'm not sure what it's going to take to revive Wyatt's sense of survival as he seems quite resigned to his fate. Fingers crossed for something to come to pass. Excellent chapter CM!

Chapter 39 A Peek at the Cards
Reader1810 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 39 A Peek at the Cards
Kendall picked one of the roses out of the vase and held it to his nose, breathing in deeply before returning it to its eleven friends. Just have to say, I love that line Gary. Kendall and Michael are just perfect together. Their love and respect for each others needs knows no bounds. There is one thing that really hit me as I pondered what I was going to write in my review. My thoughts on this started in earlier chapters regarding Kendall's link to his future child. Sure, the child would be his, but only Michael would enjoy the added bonus of the biological connection. For Kendall, that is something he would never experience. My sadness over Kendall's loss was rectified in this chapter. Whether she intended to or not, Candy has given Kendall a great gift by asking him to be her birthing partner. That is a role for the father and by giving Kendall this opportunity, he will feel what its like to be a father; thereby, strengthening the already strong bond he feels now. I can just picture him in the delivery room cutting the umbilical cord. I'm relieved too that Michael does not appear to have any issues with this plan. I guess he will get his turn (with Kendall there too, of course) when Kendall's becomes a biological father by way of a surrogate mother. Just a little hopeful prediction for the future... As always, a wonderful chapter Gary! -
That was really beautiful Samuel. When you mentioned you had written a poem, it didn't occur to me that I would have the privilege of reading it. Thank you for sharing your words. They say so much.... I'm sure Mr. Bartlett would be pleased. 1810

I concur completely Drew, but you missed a few

Delightful chapter Carlos. It was really good to see how well the three boys got along. Love the typical teenage boy messing around – in actions and words. It bodes well for the future long term. I must say, the “adults” are as good as the kids when it comes to playful bantering. I’m a little disappointed that we (the other faithful readers) have to wait for so long before CJ and his “cousins” get to meet one another. But, I have faith that there will be lots of things in the interim to distract us while we wait patiently…. Interesting twist that Tom and JP might sell their home, not only would it be financially beneficial, I also had the thought that geographically, it would bring them closer to their friends. That is, it easier to “just pop in” on the spur of the moment. Or maybe not... Another thing that made me chuckle was Autumn’s (nice shout out) reaction to her new car – the American built green Ford Fiesta. My family is not from Michigan, but my dad did work for Ford, so my first car was a green (love that coincidence!) Ford Escort. I had that car for 17 years… Lots of foreshadowing of the good things to come as the story progresses – can’t wait!

Spot on Carlos. Oh, and I was the kid that ate mud - just once mind you
