Great story and each chapter has been very good. I look forward to many more chapters as more is revealed.
I hope we will learn more about David, Gabriel's stepfather. While Gabe's mother was dying, did Gabe step in and do more than is normal for someone his age (at that point in his life) with regard to David's company? You somewhat hint at that near the end of Chapter 3. Have David and the Captain ever met in person? Or talked on video calls? Or had indirect business dealings with each other?
Third, I started reading this story because of your story, "The Bard and the Prince." (I look forward to much more in that story, as well.) Since you like the stories of Craftingmom, I must somehow find time to look at those stories, as well.
Fourth, I request permission to quote from your stories from time to time. How would you like the quotes credited? "~ From a story by Fantasyboy69" or "From the story 'Starcutter'" or "From a story by John Simth (or name of your choice)"? I prefer to quote by permission, and prefer to give credit if I can track down the source.
Thank you for your consideration, and I ask you to continue the great stories. I hope to read more of your stories as my "real life" schedule eases up in a couple of months.
