You know, for as much hard luck that has come Eric's way, there is at least a few positive experiences. I think that has to be what keeps him going. Eventual hope maybe. If not that, I think he might have packed it in. His Amish friend left him with the most fitting send off. We all really hope he finds home too. I hope that barn isn't trouble but just a rest stop.. and llamas? Oh boy!

Week Six Monday, October 6, 2014: A Day of Warnings
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Six Monday, October 6, 2014: A Day of Warnings
I'm just going to take the easy way, and piggy back on Parkers's review. He pretty much said what I ended the chapter thinking. I think Ginny will definitely ask about the base of the skull. I just hope she presses it with the docs as she can't really tell them where she got the idea. I will add that I really hope David's dad finally grows a pair and grasps his son from the preacher's clutches. Sooner rather than later. He obviously sees something is not right. Okay, and Erik must really be feeling out of sorts. He is dealing with this sort of alone no? Congrats on making Varsity David.. You deserve something good. Another good one SkinnyD... Thank you! -
Ahh, Tim. There's no way I was holding back those tears, and for so many reasons. Gratitude for Isabella, who fed the part of you she knew was destined to be more than a street kid. I don't think she would have been inclined to nurture and encourage your learning, if she didn't see how you wanted it for yourself. After all you went back determined. So there were tears of pride, for the kid who didn't want to settle. Even at his worst, he wanted more. I am sure Isabella feels that pride. I am so happy she reached you and in a sense gave you to us. Even then Tim you were worth something to somebody, and to so many of us now. Don't ever stop gracing us with your talent.. Thank you so much for sharing..

I can't ever get enough Jacob, but this was an awesome enough chapter that I didn't mind too much. This chapter was filled with happiness, warmth and acceptance. The twins actually struck gold with their partners. Jacob and Chris are equally accepting of the bond the twins share, and Chris is so genuine in his affection for Russ. The effect it has on Russ is just heartwarming, and evidenced in Russ' little outburst. I am further loving the evolution of confident Russ. Your descriptions made me a part of their ring shopping afternoon. The teasing and the tender moments oh, I was just smiling right along with the guys. The time spent with the family was nice too. Everyone relaxed and happy. Now, if we could get Jacob and Russ to control that hair trigger in time for the big moment!!! Great chapter Tim, thank you.. I really hope the twins are still yelling at you...

It must have been sad chapter day today. Most of my fav stories made me teary eyed.. We hoped, but we knew it couldn't last. I think if Eustace found out first maybe it could've worked out. Toby was so nice too. Now he's on the run again. Eating bad food, getting sick and weak. If he's feeling like he is out of options, I hope every day he's out there, one small thing gives him hope until he runs into a streak of luck again.. At least he can buy more than just a box or cereal to tide him over...

Ahh, poor Jenson, his pain was wrenching. Even sadder that Kel felt he needed to do this. Will this now this keep Jenson mired in whatever the relationship with Kel was, or will he allow himself and Merrick a chance. I guess answers are coming... I'll be patient.

Week Five Sunday, October 5, 2014: Mike’s Dollar
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Sunday, October 5, 2014: Mike’s Dollar
This chapter wasn't really sad but it made me teary. The pain in Twoey's head won't go away and it's worse. That can't be good. Are those the same pains David is experiencing? Maybe through the connection he will find out what's wrong? I wonder how long it will take David to try and reach Twoey again, now that he's freaked about the I love you.. I really can't stand Tommy's mother. So consumed by her faith, and I use that loosely, she can't see past her nose. I'm glad David has Twoey's mom, but as indifferent as David is trying to be, or being, there really is no substitute. Because of that, I hurt for him too. If Kathy is playing the field and looking to trade in David, she will be doing him a favor, though he won't probably see it that way. Great stuff SkinnyD, I'm ready for more.. -
Well, Denise won't be that easy to shake. She's tapped in to all the parents. Poor Jason.. Viktor sound...scary. Suddenly, what Shane said about not being the same person Jason knew takes on a more dire meaning. Really curious now.

Wow! As soon as Noel digests one aspect of his new life it's 'oops', there's just this one other thing. Poor guy. The explanation comes after he has, or begun to experience whatever he's fated to. They should probably just sit him down and tell him everything. His head may explode, but at least he'd be prepared somewhat and less inclined to freak out. I think he can handle it, and he's starting to understand his effect on Diarmond, but this has got to be trying.

Oh, hey Lifeguard, good to hear from you... I too worry about the end of summer. Ambrose irritates me only because I don't want Eric to run just yet. I get it is his nature and he's probably thinking of his father's well being, but still. Now he has Eric self conscious about his food intake. It would be wise though for Eric to have an exit plan for when the time comes. I don't see how he could manage in the barn or cabin during the winter and not be found out. To be honest I'm hoping Eustace finds out for sure and takes him in, then Ambrose can be useful and make everything go away.

Chapter 49 The Big Reveal
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 49 The Big Reveal
We got a puppy! There wasn't a doubt that we wouldn't.. Excellent advice from Uncle Michael.. With the new knowledge that Bodie also bears a scar, these two boys have a few emotional hurdles to cross. Michael's advice is timely and I think they will be more inclined to follow it the best they can. The boys affection for each other is so pure and palpable. Ahh, to be young and innocently in love.. I really hope Mark does the right thing, and proves to Nate that he doesn't have to fear him. It sucks for your nightmare to be your father. On top of that he's missing his family. That's not easy, but at least he has his Uncles to comfort him.. I think I've said it before, but every time you write scenes with the Acetos, especially like this one, it makes me feel like I'm part of it. They are just so real.. Excellent chapter Gary.. -
SkinnyD, writes Poetry? Amazing expression, simple and sweet! Love it..

Week Five Saturday, October 4, 2014: Homecoming Dance
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Saturday, October 4, 2014: Homecoming Dance
My concerns are exactly what Parker and CG brought up in their reviews... I wonder if Twoey will remember Danny said to fight for love? I am so anxious to get to at least their first meeting, just so we maybe get an idea of what is going to happen. If I could turn the page, I would've probably skipped ahead and then come back to this point. I know, but I would be breathing fine.. Really nice chapter SkinnyD.. -
For This Remembrance Day
Defiance19 commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in For This Remembrance Day
Thank you Tim This is a beautiful and poignant tribute to fallen heroes. May we never forget the sacrifice. -
This was a nice chapter, but I almost felt like there was a shake up coming any minute. Things are going so well. Eustace is so good at thwarting Eric's expectations of verbal abuse and put downs. You can almost always feel his surprise when Eustace shows tolerance and concern. He needs more of that, and more dreams of loving arms...

Week Five Friday October 3, 2014: Homecoming Game
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Friday October 3, 2014: Homecoming Game
This connection between Twoey and David will not be denied. It will be sad when Twoey is completely aware, and he realises that David is still with Kathy. Twoey is holding on to those feelings of love, and that's great if it helps him get better. David is not going to give in to his feelings just yet and how that affects their future time together is anyone's guess. This is assuming Twoey remembers any of their transcendental meetings right away. Which btw is a most interesting concept. Grief is sneaking up on David at weird times, Erik poor guy is missing school. I forgot that he would be affected by this too. I can't imagine how daunting those emotions are for these guys. Keeping it together is going to be tough.. -
And now, I need to know about Kel. Jenson will have the choice of telling Merrick about Kel made for him if he can't figure out a good time. They are after all going to be locked in together, so there will be lots of time for conversation and all he's been avoiding. Nothing like having the realization of love sprung on you and it the same breath, the possibility of losing it before you even gave it a chance. Audra gave Jenson something to think about and I hope it shakes him up a little.. Love Merrick's persistence/insistence... Lovely chapter Lit.

I was just marveling in the fact that temp wise it doesn't feel like Nov. But it is grey and drizzling.. If your friend never finds the strength to come out, at least he knows he has you in his corner! As always, Tim very articulate...

I remember starting this, and I'm glad to see it continued! This was an awesome chapter can't wait to see what's next...

Demonstration of Strength
Defiance19 commented on Aditus's story chapter in Demonstration of Strength
I suppose, once you realise that the two souls operating within you aren't going anywhere, you need to learn how to coexist... Accepting that they know things about the King which cause him to act instinctively, and in his favor will take some time. I hope he doesn't go mad before then, or lose it on someone. On top of that, he's trying to fight a building attraction to Diarmond. Poor Noel... That was pretty intense with McGill. And Noel, a show of strength indeed.. Treason, offending powers, threats of being banned from earth! Can't wait to know what is behind it all! -
He went home! To the barn, where it's safe. Then he woke up and Eustace took care of him even though he thought he was out causing trouble. Eric tried to be 'normal', to have fun and Red messed that all up. I wonder how that setback is going to affect him. Will he start to trust Eustace now that he's feeling safe there? Will he foster a friendship with Toby, who checked up on him btw. Or will he retreat into himself again. I couldn't stop reading and I caught up, but... Now what!
-
So Andersons are real and not just a herd of cows in a pasture somewhere. Phew! While I don't think the sheep would mind, I think Eric should keep his feelings for Toby in check. There's much he doesn't know about Toby. I am happy that he is allowing himself to go out and maybe have fun. What are the odds that Ambrose is a cop. I wonder if his questions were instigated by his father's concern. Great Chapter....

Mistakes and Surprises
Defiance19 commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Mistakes and Surprises
Andersons, the way Eustace says it, is a euphemism right? He clearly is waiting for Eric to crack and tell him on his own. If that keeps Eric fed and sheltered, I'm ok. The parts where he's expecting the worst and surprised to be treated normally just break my heart. It is so good to have Eric feel pride. I really liked this chapter. -
Does Mr Whitley just not letting on that he knows something is off. Maybe he just can't put his finger on it.. In any case, I hope Stefan/Eric gets to stay a while. It was great to see him getting praise for his work he needs that positivity.
