  1. Like the Latin words it's derived from, content has different meanings when used as a noun, adjective, or verb. At least in Latin the words are all different, while we end up being content with the content of this website.
  2. Twenty two times and not just Watson.

    The Void Gate

Everyone is under the illusion they are in charge. When will Byron find out he's the real puppet here?
  4. From the Middle English overjoien, meaning to rejoice over or gloat.
  5. I'm aware. It didn't involve as many nations or cover as much territory.
  6. It was limited in scope to North America and had fewer players.
  7. I've been telling for years and Napoleon is still short. Poor guy has a complex about it.
  8. Well yeah, but he wasn't Napoleon.
  9. Well, Napoleon stirred up enough trouble to not exactly be loved. The Napoleonic Wars were the closest thing to a world war anyone had seen. It's natural to denigrate and make fun of what we don't like. And those 'facts' tend to endure.
  10. Glee is from the Old English gliu, gliw, gleow, meaning entertainment or mirth. Since its early meanings imply music, it's easy to see where glee club came from.
  11. Napoleon wasn't actually so short. At the time the French used a different measurement system with shorter inches, so the French 5 feet 2 inch was really 5 feet 7 inches. Pretty respectable height for early 1800's France.

    Chapter 25

"The Void and I are old friends. It's never mentioned you.” I loved this. I never thought about how traumatic Alec's leaving would be for River.
  13. Well, he didn't gift her the fabulous necklace he bought in Russia. I imagine he's saving it for his daughter.
  14. Not to overlook the dessert.
  15. From the Latin radiare, meaning to beam or shine.
  16. This chapter was amusing. I recall George was annoyed Eastwick left with Madame Bonaparte to 'look at a painting.' In this case, George and Napoleon have common cause as they were both being cheated on, though George can't say it. He can point out his wife put him in the same position and he wouldn't cause it to happen to another.

    Chapter 31 S2

We'll blame the late chapter on Louella.

    Chapter 31 S2

If you're ever assaulted or robbed, you want your assailant to be stupid enough to get his weapon into contact range. I've successfully used the one hand distraction method myself and it works. I wasn't impressed by Barry's other friends before. They come, make a mess, and leave.
  19. From the Old English mrygth, which is of Germanic origin.

    Chapter 14

I've read it twice so far.
  21. I believe @Myr has released The Four Horsemen of the Joypocalypse.
  22. From the Latin exultantem, meaning boastful.
