  1. I really like chapter 4, CJ. I can see Jake gradually changing his opinion of Brett, but there's still one big complication...Jake's undeclared desire for Corey. Can he resolve his jealousy of Brett and Corey's relationship?
  2. I would say "Chey" sounds like "shy" since it's a diminutive form of "Cheyenne".

    Random Hugz

Hugs, who needs them? We need 4 hugs daily for survival; We need 8 hugs daily for maintenance; We need 12 hugs daily for growth! Hugs to all.
  4. The death toll has risen to 31.
  5. Happy Birthday, Patricky! Don't it make my brown eyes blue.
  6. Another look at what happened...and what did not happen...in Nashville:
  7. Among all the images of the flooding in Nashville, I thought this one from inside the Opryland Hotel was particularly ironic. The hotel will be closed for as long as six months for restoration.
  8. SOUTHERN CHARM Two informally dressed ladies happened to start up a conversation during an endless wait in the LAX airport. The first lady was an arrogant California woman married to a wealthy man. The second was a well mannered elderly woman from the South. When the conversation centered on whether they had any children, the California woman started by saying, "When my first child was born, my husband built a beautiful mansion for me." The lady from the South commented, "Well, isn't that precious?" The first woman continued, "When my second child was born, my husband bought me a beautiful Mercedes-Benz. Again, the lady from the South commented, "Well, isn't that precious?" The first woman continued boasting, "Then, when my third child was born, my husband bought me this exquisite diamond bracelet. Yet again, the Southern lady commented, "Well, isn't that precious?" The first woman then asked her companion, "What did your husband buy for you when you had your first child?" "My husband sent me to charm school," declared the Southern lady. "Charm school?" the first woman cried, "Oh, my God! What on earth for?" The Southern lady responded, "Well for example, instead of saying "Who gives a Crap?" I learned to say, "Well, isn't that precious"...
  9. Happy Birthday, Adrian!
  10. Not at all! Just ask Matt. Just because Yankees wear pinstripes doesn't make them bankers.
  11. Tennessee death toll now at 19. Pictures of flooded homes and landmarks are at http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Avis=DN&Dato=20100503&Kategori=NEWS01&Lopenr=5030808&Ref=PH
  12. Cliff James has released chapter 24 of Circumnavigation, "Strait of Messina".
  13. Twelve people have drowned in Tennessee (5 of them in Nashville) due to flooding following record rainfall. Nashville received 13 1/2 inches of rain in 48 hours. Several smaller cities west of the Tennessee River got more than 17 inches. The deaths all occurred when people were trapped in their automobiles. One of the deaths occurred on I-24 about 1 1/2 miles from our home. Many streets remain flooded as are many homes and businesses. Losses will total billions of dollars. I-40 is closed from Nashville to Waverly, a distance of nearly 100 miles. Here is a video of a small building eastbound on I-24: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2VPjgpsITo.
  14. I agree with the others...write in the way that is natural for you. Most readers will understand with no problem. I promise that, if there is something I do not understand, I will not hesitate to ask. Look forward to reading your work.

    A return to blogging

I appreciate your log, Ash. Good luck on landing a job in your field. More important, I hope you will be in a happy, lasting relationship soon. I understand that some degree of depression lasts for six moths or so for anyone who suffers a personal loss. A new relationship can do wonders for shortening that time. I say go for it...cautiously.
  17. Great first chapter, Dan. I didn't recognize it as a sequel to Waiting for the Sign until that unexpected phone call.
  18. A little nip and tuck is good for extending one's career. Consider Tina Turner at age 70:
  19. Take heart, Sky. I'm not a 70s guy either...not by James' definition.
  20. Thanks to Joe Smith for getting the new poem, Dystopia, up and available for everyone to read. I wasn't aware that there is an administration validation required before an e-fiction work could be read, so I jumped the gun with my announcement. I believe validation is a one time requirement per author. You may now read it at https://www.gayauthors.org/efiction/viewstory.php?sid=1329&chapter=6. Please make any comments you wish in this forum. Thanks.
  21. There's another potential problem with green tea...just like all other teas and red wine. It also contains tannin which causes muscle spasms in the back in some people.
  22. Cute kitty!
  23. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, Greg. Please try again; I have changed the link. I'm having another problem with the poem not being listed in the drop down box or table of contents and have requested assistance from Joe Smith.
  24. My new poem, Dystopia, is about the struggle for gay rights. Please comment in this forum if you are so inclined. Thank you.
  25. I think you will find Jake to be quite satisfying in the long run. Unusual, but satisfying.
