  1. Someone will get this really fast.
  2. Does anyone find Bridget's death familiar in any way? If so, you may find her death more satisfactory.
  3. Congratulations, Paya. You are absolutely correct. In fact, the Smithsonian article was my source for the picture. Everyone should read the article for an interesting story about the Masters golf tournament.
  4. We need more guesses. Who are the guys in the high-waisted trousers?

  6. It's up...The Belly of the Beast.

    Health Update!

Sounds like good news, Reneee. If you have a chance to avoid becoming diabetic, I know you will want to follow the doctor's instructions. Best wishes.
  8. TEACHER ARRESTED A public school teacher was arrested today at John F. Kennedy International airport as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a compass, a slide-rule and a calculator. At a morning press conference, Attorney General Eric Holder said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction. "Al-Gebra is a problem for us," the Attorney General said. "They derive solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in search of absolute values. They use secret code names like "X" and "Y" and refer to themselves as "unknowns" but we have determined that they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country." As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
  9. Don't judge American geographical knowledge on the basis of five tweets. They are not typical people and tweets are frequently uninformed social commentary. They are often repeated (retweeted as all five of these were).

    Chapter 33

    Beautiful chapter, beautiful music.
  11. OK. There are five twits in America.
  12. Pavel, the picture you linked is a collection from the Czech Republic intended to show American ignorance. It could show more about Czech gullibility if your countrymen find it believable. It is not news. It is a collection of tweets by people who are not journalists and are not listening very closely to the news. There is a reason these people are known as twits. The Chechen Republic or Chechnya very clearly is not the same place as the Czech Republic. I have traveled to the Czech Republic and know the difference. I also know that there are no kangaroos in Austria. The curriculum in US schools reflects centuries of isolationism and intentional lack of involvement in European politics and wars.

  14. Michael9344's The Game series are very well written modern day military stories...no world war, but plenty of special operations action, intrigue and personal battles. I recommend you try them.

  16. Bobby Jones is not in the picture.
  17. Sorry it's a black and white picture. At least my response is green. You and Red are on the right track. Paya is in the deep rough.
  18. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years. And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so.
  19. Who are these people? A timely picture. We need three names and a location and no cheating.
  20. What do kids do for fun in school? Are any physical exercises strenuous enough to burn off the high fat school lunches? I do think rugby would be a bit intense for 7 - 10 year olds, but there is probably a "touch" version as there is for American football. My first touch football injury at school occurred at age six...a dislocated finger. After school was over, I went home and my mom gave me aspirin. When my dad got home, he yanked my finger back into place. I didn't miss any school, wasn't rushed to the ER, and did not have to testify in court. We also got a few bruises from dodgeball and red rover. "Red rover, red rover, send Andy right over." Youths playing red rover
