I am glad it is not yet gnat/blackfly season yet. Splat, indeed! And the last one expresses some of my frustration in having to correspond and "zoom meet" for everything instead of sharing life with living, breathing students and friends. Thank so much for reading and for your comments!

Chapter 16 Moral Support

The roller coaster ride continues. Hank and Chase ride back up to a beautiful high spot, with vistas of reconciliation and mended hearts, only to plummet into the depths at the coffee shop. Hank’s mother has no idea what an emotional vortex she’s stepping into. -
It would be difficult for Troy to turn Grant down in the midst of a trip like that. But they’re so deeply in love, ‘hell yes’ seems like the only answer possible. This chapter seems so suffused with their love. Thank you.

The couple it Sonnet 34 spoke to me the first time I read it, and again in considering this new poem. You probably also noticed the modified skyscraper form for this poem. So many gifts you give us. I’m very glad these first seven connected with you.

I feel so very sad at the end of this chapter. To know this happens too often each and every day makes me sadder still. You have made clear how important it is to make the problem of depression in veterans widely known. Thanks for this.

You are so good to share your experiences in this emergency with everyone. I can feel the effects of isolation in so many ways. I loved the yoga program you linked. Yoga was something I had to give up when I hurt my shoulder. Maybe it’s worth another try, as I’ve missed it for the peace and strength it brought. Peace, love, blessings and hugs.- 13 comments

It’s hard to fight battles as chaotic and fraught as this one. Isolation is a very hard thing, yet it’s what we seem to have to do in order to keep one another safe. Like you, I wish our leaders would fight as if they were all on the same side. Thanks for this.

I had to catch up by a couple of chapters. Sandra bows to the inevitable, yet does so on her own terms. In doing so, she helped more firmly reconnect Grant to his family, and repair the hurts that existed between them. And now Beth. I’m definitely interested in learning more about her. Thanks for another absorbing chapter.

Chapter 15 Girls' Night

Hank gave Chase a huge gift in helping to reconnect him to their mutual friend group. Chase may be right that he and Hank can move on, but at least there is a part of him that has been restored. Great chapter.
