  1. National Enquirer, here we come.
  2. I enjoyed this chapter. So much to get interviewed about: I really liked the part about VINS. But when does he debut on the covers of the tabloids?

    Cards #1 to #4

Thanks for the glimpses of isolation as you experience it. I have the feeling there is much we share.

    Visible

This is wonderful. Hear my applause.
  5. @AC Benus, @Mikiesboy, @Wayne Gray, Thank you for your responses to this question and insights into your writing. I especially appreciated @AC Benus’s allusions to physics, and @Mikiesboy’s words with texture. And @Wayne Gray’s connection to storms and the power of nature appeals to me too.
  6. I liked this detour to Whitehorse. Brent and Dawson have me smiling now, and good riddance to Perry. You painted him as slime green as any Halloween swamp critter. I suspect this pair will be very tired in the morning. Great chapter!

    Birthday

Sandra in control, yet not in control, must be just as unbalancing for her as her physical malady. That, and meeting a possible match in Troy. Gavin’s reunion with Grant was nice to see. But most important to me was how swiftly and certainly Grant’s relationship to Troy has been accepted as a matter of course. Can’t wait for more.
  8. Jeff making over Simon will be interesting. I’m looking forward to that. It seems doubtful that Simon will learn to chase men as Freddie dies, but maybe he’ll learn to flirt successfully. I remain wary and unhappy about Simon’s mum; her gloom and doom is going to cast a pall over Simon’s relationship with her, and it could even fracture her connection to Niki. Does she see this? Lots to look forward to.

    Never Be

Hugs from me. I feel darkness and anxiety in this, but also light and peace from him who loves you.

    The Visitors

This is a great snapshot of Brad’s life at Heroes Haven. It may seem odd, but the interaction around Henrik really got to me. Injuries we cannot see may be just as lasting and damaging as those we can. Thanks for writing this chapter.

    Examination

Wow. The grilling and interrogation has begun. What a good thing Sandra never worked for the Inquisition. Troy’s answers were perfect. I’m delighted for Rhett. Helping him see his own worth truly will be a long task, but Dr. Petrucci’s actions may help. Great chapter!
  12. I’m glad you enjoyed this ramble, and seeing new birds and woods. Our robins aren’t the same, but both bring us cheer. Can’t wait for for the small green shoots in the forest to bud and bloom. Thanks for reading and for your reactions.
  13. I’m very glad these spoke to you. If you enjoy these scenes and visits too, then I am doubly happy.
  14. How wonderful these birds visited you too! We seem to share a delight in their arrival, which gladdens me. I’m also happy you came along on my hikes. Thank you.
  15. Funny to think that those robins still have hundreds of miles more to fly to the north. Mergansers are my favorite duck, perhaps because of their coif, but also because their visitation means spring is arriving at last. Thanks so much for reading these!
  16. Not so lonely now that you’ve let me share it with you. Thanks for joining me. I’m so glad you came along.
  17. In the woods, carcasses of old trees lie strewn upon a thousand autumns, ancient oaks’ bones mixed up with newly downed beeches, their hymns to the west wind forgotten by new buds and the deep, silent moss. From the hill, the world’s frantic frenzy appears but a minor commotion; the maples’ first hot blush at bold spring’s advances sets scandalized robins atwitter, yet they yield to grassy temptation. Mergansers appear unann
  18. Dawson’s departure was as sad as I thought it would be. How hard it is to say farewell to a close friend. I’m more struck by the echoes and shadows of Hank in this chapter. Chase may never escape these reminders of the man, but maybe they will fade into the background as he builds something new. Maybe now Hank will concentrate on finding his own way more constructively. I enjoyed this chapter!

    Taking a Hit

And I had such high hopes for Robert. He may have to find some other way to earn his place in that world, for a shattered lance and dented shield will not win him a place of honor or the hope of security.

    Integration

And now we get to see the beauty of love flowing outwards, from Troy and Grant through the Quad Squad and now into Rhett. These people, through a simple chain of friendship, will change a whole community. For now, it’s great to see them lift Rhett into their warmth and light.
  21. No, no. Let’s call it creative re-use.
  22. What stands out to me in this chapter is just how much Brad appears able to serve as a stable center in his network of family and friends. This may be unusual for him, but it’s so good to see.
  23. Grant’s mom wants him home, and to meet Troy, too! Almost as momentous an event as learning what Troy wants to teach him. Blood may be thick, but perhaps love is stronger still, more enduring. And maybe Sandra’s habits of a lifetime might weaken. Great chapter!
  24. Congratulations! This is excellent news!
  25. Earthquakes and Reactions! I hope you’re okay Wayne. I’m thinking of you.
