    This must have been a particularly difficult chapter to write. Getting inside such powerful fears and hurt cannot be anything but painful to write. But what will the future of family life hold for Woody? There is still much for him to fear.

    I loved some of the images you used here; grey coating the morning and sun kissing snow crystals. You set them next to reality in frosted windows and green cedars. The result is striking in its beauty.

    Awesome story; I really enjoyed the way you constructed the world and its metaphysical workings. And then the exquisite increase in tension, followed by the most satisfying conclusion. Marvelous.

    Aiden made this a happier chapter than Jordan anticipated. He turned out to be the friend he knew, and not the fearsome person of his imagination. Now if only Jenn and Aiden would fall for each other...

    I believe GA’s content guidelines are sensible, considered and sufficient to allow a wide expression gay experience. True, not everything goes here. But enough warning and preliminary information allow writers to tackle some sensitive and highly charged issues and story lines. Moreover, the deep and abiding sense of community on GA is unique, and encourages writers to improve and grow. For what it’s worth, that’s my view.

    This happens to me often. I appreciate the suggestions, as my usual ‘set it aside until later’ tactic turns into ‘oh dear, I’ve forgotten all about that,’ and later still into: ‘oh, jeez, I can’t write anything anymore and I haven’t got a clue.’

    I enjoyed this chapter. Paul is being given chance after chance to crawl out of the dark place he was living in. The gym, dancing, now the chance to be a musician again: light and life are seeping back, and Paul appears to be growing into a new existence. Very nice.

    School will be hard, very hard, for Woody and Lucas. But home life for Woody may be even more stressful. Woody’s mom may be supportive, but his father and siblings are huge question marks. That Woody knows he has to support Lucas is important, but will there be others to support the pair of them out in the world?
