This is looking ghastly. Please don’t paint the heroes into a corner that they’ll never get out of. And I refuse to believe Chad’s dead. One thing I’m thinking is that the iPad is somehow bad news.

    Chapter 21

Parker Owens commented on Ronyx's story chapter in Chapter 21

This must have been a particularly difficult chapter to write. Getting inside such powerful fears and hurt cannot be anything but painful to write. But what will the future of family life hold for Woody? There is still much for him to fear.

This poem is filled with cautions, one after another. The title collective an unkindness of ravens is especially apt. I continue to be awed by your skill.

I loved some of the images you used here; grey coating the morning and sun kissing snow crystals. You set them next to reality in frosted windows and green cedars. The result is striking in its beauty.

    Chapter 1

Parker Owens commented on Geron Kees's story chapter in Chapter 1

Awesome story; I really enjoyed the way you constructed the world and its metaphysical workings. And then the exquisite increase in tension, followed by the most satisfying conclusion. Marvelous.

Aiden made this a happier chapter than Jordan anticipated. He turned out to be the friend he knew, and not the fearsome person of his imagination. Now if only Jenn and Aiden would fall for each other...

I believe GA’s content guidelines are sensible, considered and sufficient to allow a wide expression gay experience. True, not everything goes here. But enough warning and preliminary information allow writers to tackle some sensitive and highly charged issues and story lines. Moreover, the deep and abiding sense of community on GA is unique, and encourages writers to improve and grow. For what it’s worth, that’s my view.

This happens to me often. I appreciate the suggestions, as my usual ‘set it aside until later’ tactic turns into ‘oh dear, I’ve forgotten all about that,’ and later still into: ‘oh, jeez, I can’t write anything anymore and I haven’t got a clue.’

Your story hits home. If you never say anything, nobody can help. That will be plastered in huge letters on my classroom door, where I teach math, of all things.

    The Party

Parker Owens commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in The Party

Louis and Don are about to go visit the earthquake who will change their lives. But I cannot imagine them being anything other than compassionate, attentive and loving foster parents. Great new chapter to this story!

    GMA III

Parker Owens commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in GMA III

A terrific, well-paced chapter. I enjoyed reading about the different possibilities presenting themselves to CJ and Owen. Even more, I appreciated Ethan’s giving CJ some honest thoughts about generosity and control. You showed CJ growing. Thank you!

Hello everyone - happy Friday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Sunshine and 15F out today... snow squeaks under my boots.

I enjoyed this chapter. Paul is being given chance after chance to crawl out of the dark place he was living in. The gym, dancing, now the chance to be a musician again: light and life are seeping back, and Paul appears to be growing into a new existence. Very nice.

    Chapter 20

Parker Owens commented on Ronyx's story chapter in Chapter 20

School will be hard, very hard, for Woody and Lucas. But home life for Woody may be even more stressful. Woody’s mom may be supportive, but his father and siblings are huge question marks. That Woody knows he has to support Lucas is important, but will there be others to support the pair of them out in the world?

    To a Stranger

Wow. You make me feel the intensity of the stare that looks right through you, and the stirring of the interior self that causes. Terrific.

    Chapter Twenty-Two

Parker Owens commented on Ethan's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Two

Well, now is the time to come completely clean. Tell Aiden; it will be okay. There’s no smooth sailing here, so just get it over, and enjoy the eventual smiles.

    Chapter 19

Parker Owens commented on Ronyx's story chapter in Chapter 19

I’m with those who feel Woody has been lucky in the adult he and Lucas confided in. I’m also thinking that he’s in for a rough ride from his father and brother, no matter how his mother tries to mediate the reaction. Even so, it’s a good thing he and Lucas have decided to tell their stories. Predators need to be caged and kept from hurting people.

    Encounters

Parker Owens commented on MericCotton's story chapter in Encounters

I feel bad for Tommy and Paul. Too much going on in their heads, making assumptions, and not enough talking and exchange. But there’s plenty of time, right? But not before the next chapter.

These lines flow with sadness and hurt; but there is resolve and strength beneath. I’m so sorry you’re hurting.
