I’m glad you liked this, and that you found it worth the reading. The world 400 years hence is a really hard place to love, as it was drawn in this story. I suspect there are/will be millions of Loys and Kees then, all trying to avoid the eye of the Authority. That dark Orwellian world makes 2018 shine by comparison, doesn’t it? I really appreciate your comments, and am grateful you read this.

History may not have been Loy’s best subject. And how often do we really think about the attitudes of 400 years ago? Lots to think about - your question about what Loy changed, or what the consequences might have been - I left these ponderables unanswered. Something has to keep me awake at night, after all. Love this word. I remember Rudyard Kipling using it in Just So Stories in the “Elephant’s Child,” as spoken by the Bi-Colored-Python-Rock-Snake. Euphony and alliteration made an impression on me as a boy of four or five... -

Thanks, Carlos - for reading this and for your really nice comments (which made me blush). This was not an easy story to write, as SciFi isn't something I normally imagine stories in. Funny about that - I used to read tons of SciFi when I was a teenager.

Thank you for reading this, tim. I was drawn to this by a friend who showed me how we are being erased from history. I wondered what a future would be like if they started erasing us directly. And what might happen if someone found a way to erase them back...

That world is a cruel and dystopian one. Loy and Kee found their way back to ours; maybe they can show us the way to something better. Thanks a million for reading.

I am very grateful you took time to read this. Yes, it’s dystopian, but much of the current future vision looks this way. I fear for what we may do to ourselves. However Loy did it, he managed to restore Kee to himself, and change the future stream of that multiverse. I have no doubt Loy could become immensely wealthy and powerful, if he wanted. But maybe he’ll just be content with Kee.

Thank you very much for reading this story. I agree that the vision is kind of grim. Sometimes the world feels that way. I think your reflection on the evolutionary purpose to our sexuality is interesting. Regardless of its selective uses (or lack thereof), it seems some are anxious to hasten our demise and erase us from history.
