Hey, Dugh. Fish-scale clouds have us bracing for winter storms here. Getting ready for supper now.

I loved to hear how you kicked yesterday's ass. And you took note of your own courage, and its effect on how you felt at the end of the day. I am enjoying this triumph, this victory over anxiety. Thank you for sharing your journey.

    Chapter 22

Parker Owens commented on Ronyx's story chapter in Chapter 22

The father needs a major brain rearrangement. He can be disappointed if he wants, but the stony silent treatment won’t make the situation go away. And the principal is completely unbelievable. How could he behave in such a way? The next school board meeting ought to have a motion to see that man dismissed or suspended. Need another chapter! Please?

Like you, I have an old edition of the RTP Field Guide, which rides in my car, just in case I see some interesting bird wherever I go. It’s a treasured and very useful book. I’ll think of you next time I open mine. Thank you for your really kind comments on these poems. They’re fun to write, especially given the pleasure watching these feathered neighbors give us all.

Some guides suggest our North American Nuthatches call: “Yank, yank...” but “snark, snark...” is almost as good. And the alarm call at my appearance in the yard certainly could sound that way, perhaps as a comment on my old worn-out boots. Thanks for reading these!

I’m very happy you found these enjoyable. The Rubayat rhyme scheme is wonderfully adaptable. It’s a great favorite. If you have a favorite bird that needs a poem, you could let me know.

I’m glad these brought you good memories and images. Identifying mystery birds is great fun, especially during spring migrations when so many birds are passing through. Thank you for reading!

I am inclined to believe this could be Mikiesboy too.

You might get Pygmy Nuthatches out your way. Their habits are fun, too - they cluster for warmth in the cold. Nuthatches are some of my favorites. Thanks for reading these little flights about the birds. Glad you liked them.

It’s a lovely chapter. You let us watch Noah and Jordan weave their lives together, learn to give and take and stretch themselves. What will make Noah ready enough so the two of them take the chance to openly be themselves? I’m looking forward to that.

Downy Woodpeckers Downy Woodpecker, black and white, rules the bird feeder’s morning light; they intimidate finches bold, pecking suet cakes left and right. Smallest Piciformes of the fold as taxonomists have us told; kin to Sapsucker’s yellow breast, braving northerly gales so cold. Drumming hollow trunks without rest, searching faithfully in his quest for the one who would be his mate, sharing cavities for the nest. Li

No, the longing wasn’t imagined. And how about that conversation? Can’t wait to read it, and hopefully some things will get resolved. Excellent chapter! Loved the surprises.

    Hypomanic

Parker Owens commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Hypomanic

This is a fantastic poem. It picks me up as the wind takes an Autumn leaf, whirls me about, and sets me down again at silence. Excellent.

Thank you, molly. They were definitely written as a set, as you could tell. I am glad you liked them.

I’m glad these brought a bit of heat to the cold days. And I’m happy you might find them worth celebrating. I shall raise my glass to the north with an answering smile. Thank you.

Yes, a nice warm comforter in January can be just the thing. Safe, warm and perfectly peaceful. Thank you for your help in making these just so.

Visit me while I in slumber hide and in my dreams make adventure reign that, every check or inhibition cast aside, we let bold liberty slip its chain; so I invite your tide, filled with thee. I'll admire how joy on your face spreads as I yield to let you make us one; hold me open wide, accepting your sweetest gift, help me sing that wordless, heedless song, reciting ageless threads of desire. I will lie face down beneath your kiss, baskin

Evil trash talking dickheads battle the Chosen. Not a good place to be, Earth. Any chance of emigration?
