And now Chad has Ryan, someone to share kick-ass superheroism with. And did I detect a flicker of something else? Naaah. Way to trash a B&N, by the way. Excellent chapter.
This poem is quite powerful and thought provoking.
These lines:
But who is to say that the butterfly is superior to the moth
Denying the break is to deny the transformation
To stop healing
To stop learning
made me re-read, rethink and ponder. One cannot deny brokenness without denying the power and change in healing. While this speaks of hurt and shattered hearts, it also tells me of a stubborn kind of hope.
Thank you you for sharing this.
Your comment is indeed truly awesome. You made my day. Thank you so much for reading these; the heirloom tomatoes are some of the best treats this time of year has to offer - and the moon on moving water is hypnotic. Again, my thanks.
Calc 2 is one of my favorites. Sounds like PHYS 2425 is going to be interesting, as would ENGR 1201, if I could only be there. Is public speaking a core course? Wish you all the best...
Scott’s got some real problems, and needs help; but Bobby and Mark have to protect themselves until he gets it. But Scott is likely to implode if word about him and Ryan spreads. Will Bobby and Mark do that?
Scott’s got a thing for Mark, that’s for sure. But now he’s seriously passed off Mark’s mom, and worse, gotten Bobby mad. And something tells me Bobby hasn’t finished with Scott.
Mark and Bobby have adults who will fight for them. But the two boys are still targets, for Scott and his posse are unlikely to lay off. It doesn't seem as if Scott's uncle will do much to rein his nephew in. Mark and Bobby may have a very lovely idyll at Aunt Janice's - but their return will still involve fear and watchfulness. Bobby's plan had better be good.
These two boys have parents and relatives who love and support them. These are essential parts of being whole and grounded. Bobby and Mark may have no idea about whether they are in love, or if they are somehow meant for each other - but those who love them will take care of them as they figure it out. Great chapter.
Thank you, Gary, for walking this summer day in poetry with me. Spooking the deer in the pre dawn light never fails to startle me as much as it does them. Glad you liked these.
You’re so kind to read and comment on these. I could not choose a favorite either. Rather, they represent one favorite sort of day. Thank you for spending it with me.
That heron surprised the socks off me; in flight, it was both enormous and silent as it passed just feet over my head. And the feel of a sun-warmed heirloom tomato in the hand is like holding a handful of sunshine...
You're so kind with your reading, Val. Hummingbirds always seem so indignant as they get territorial around the feeder. And now they are fleeing for the south. Distant, towering clouds are another summer joy - their colors are often unusual and vivid. I am glad you liked these.
