I will be thinking of you in the upheaval that is changing your world. I hope for things unexpectedly good and bright; I wish for peace and joy unlooked for; in your van you will carry my thoughts and encouragement.
I am deeply sorry you have been affected so much by someone you love who has this illness. It hurts so much; that comes through in every word you wrote. I send you my warmest hugs.
Well - nothing like a bit of excitement at work! But what was November really thinking? Doubt he was thinking at all. I can’t wait to see what he is feeling and how he is coping with his own actions.
You wrote s party scene really well. I could have been in the restaurant. You also wrote a child’s part with great success - that’s really tricky. Loved this chapter.
Now it’s Ember who needs to wrap his mind around change. Will he continue to believe in what he sees and senses? It will he look for reasons to hate Brady for the past indefinitely?
And so you lead us deeper into the forest of secrets and mysteries. Mother may have had the land valued, but her efforts hardly went very far. How did Sam and his kin know what was going on? And what will Finn discover as the new resident? Love how this is developing.
Welcome! It’s s great community here, for readers and writers alike. Lots of people here will support authors with questions or in need of a bit outside reflection. I’m very glad you’re here.
I am in full agreement with @dughlas. These are wonderful sapphic studies of flowers. I can hear the buzzing of bees and see the colored sunshine on the petals.
Thank you for reading these snapshots of their lives. I keep telling myself I will write some more one day, but I have been distracted by life. I am glad these spoke to you.
Very hard to let go, and photos will not suffice. But life changes physical circumstances, even as love and laughter remain. These need no boxes or moving vans. But what will the new buyer make of the dreams that echo in my old room beneath the eaves?
Thank you for your patience with my silence. It is good to be busy, but my writing has suffered, I fear. I am glad you read these, and that they spoke to you.
Whew! I have sooooo much to catch up
on. As part owner of an old house, remind me not to sell to our boys - They’d take me to the cleaners. But you have given me a chapter to make me smile.
Thank you so much for your comment! I am glad you have been so engaged in the story. Andy is definitely in for a real change in his life - no more hiding is possible.
The old house was made for joy and hospitality. The silence and cold must have been oppressive to its lovely aged bones. Writing these lines helped me channel the hurts and reclaim the love. Thanks for reading them with me.
Thank you, Dugh. It is bittersweet, yet it must be done. The love in that house will linger long after everything is moved out, as will the cherished memories.
These lines were all I could write in a week. Too many things I must leave behind, too many tasks to do, and a whole lot of chores to accomplish. Yet if they help me and you carry the weight, then I am glad they found you.
Thank you, Mac. This hasn’t been easy, and there is more to do. Yet sharing the experience eases the burden, lessens the weight. How glad I am that you liked “pink pregnant peonies.” I left them just waiting to pop open.
