    I am indebted to you for skyscrapers. These are becoming a frequent form in my sketchbook. You see I’ve made some progress with them in the past year. I blushed at your kind words. April 3 was my first attempt to use them in stanzas. April 4 had wonderful inspiration from a lovely old man I knew. I miss him. And I am glad April 7 worked, too, though it took a long time to come together. Thank you for your most generous words and kindnesses.

    Thank you for zeroing in on the Yellow Room. It haunts me still, and it was not an easy one to write. I am glad it was hard to pick a favorite here. Many different scenes and senses come to mind, some bright, others dark. Thank you for reading these, not once but twice.

    But now the whole family is set against itself. This can’t end well, no matter how much Cameron and Kevin and Mr. Williams bonded over fishing. And whatever Paul and Gordon are up to will end in tears, for sure. Kevin and his brother have to work things out before their world explodes around them.

Andy and Zander love each other still; it is how I shall always hold them in my mind. And they are ready to open their lives and love for another who needs them.     You capture the ease with which we might encounter the Evidence Room, strolling in from one interesting exhibit to this. But we are captured, caught in the Evidence Room as easily as the victims you write about. This is a magnificent poem; @MacGreg highlighted two standout lines, and I will point out two others: It is quiet; ghostly Yet I want to cover my ears Block out their voices For it seems they still need to be heard And after the screaming stopped, all in the time most of us have breaks at our jobs, 15 minutes This poem is powerful and important. Thank you for posting it.

    In some ways, it hurts to read this through the lens of Eric’s experience. You show that beautifully and well. Yet seeing Andy and Adam as a loving couple does good not only for Eric, but for me, too. Thank you.

    I apologize for missing this comment. I’m so very sorry. The characters introduced here are caught in a web of unmaking - a place, a set of expectations, a culture - all set on dismantling their own true selves. It succeeded. But can unmaking be undone? I am glad you feel an affinity for these characters. I do, too.Thanks very much for your thoughts and reaction.

    And now I am doubly in your debt for this amazing commentary and review. I am humbled, yet delighted these engaged you. Of the four, number one, with its insistent 3/4 beat, sang to me the most. Numbers two and three lent themselves to the joy of hunting for the right images. Your thoughts on number four struck a deep chord with me; you made me recall how I often conjure my errors and faults to exorcise them. Thank you so much for this!
