  1. Good story, progressing nicely. The people are wonderfully likable. George is one in a million. Billy and Chris asking George for 'permission' was sweet. That gives a stamp of approval to what they already know they have together. But George looking after their future the way he did, legally, was the nicest gesture of all. Don't want to give the show away, so will only say that the whole situation with Andrew and his dad is definitely worth a smile! Looking forward to more...
  2. Two beautiful pieces, Gary. I guess we all look ahead to the end of life at some point. The older we get, the more aware we become of the possibility. Or the certainty of it, even. End of life happens to us all at some point, and the fact that it's something we all share should serve to remind us that we are never alone in dealing with it. But it should remain an awareness of the future only, and not a burden. I choose to cherish what I have, while I have it, and not to worry about what comes next until I actually get there. Yes, our lives are composed of memories, and the idea of losing them would frighten anyone. But memories have two sides, and the best ones have others in them, who will remember for us even if we someday lose the ability to connect with them ourselves. I don't think that memories are ever really lost, even with these maladies of the mind that seem to steal them away. It's more like a book that loses its index, its page markers, its sense of order. Finding things, associating them, may become difficult. But while the pathways may become dark, the journey of life itself remains. I take some comfort in feeling that, wherever we go ultimately, those memories - that life - goes with us. Nothing - and no one - is ever truly lost.

    A Neko's Mark

Hmm. Things seem so nice just now. I'm afraid I feel it's a calm before the storm. You've dropped a couple of clues, but I'll let you be the one to fill them out. Hey. I'm enjoying the story a lot. What more can I say?
  4. Are the ambidextrous double wankers?🤑
  5. Ahhh! More mystery, and more to wonder about. And a fascinating look at a future lunar habitat, certainly. Money eventually winds up in every frontier, doesn't it? This is close enough to a cliffhanger to make me wish there were two of you writing these things! 😄
  6. It's always the small towns with the biggest secrets! And the biggest...um...shhh!
  7. It's a small world, isn't it? So Andrew has seen Chris before, and Billy has seen Andrew's dad before. And they say England is staid and boring!

    Chapter 1

Thank you for the kind words. I think we all have a face or two in memory like that, paired up with small, lingering regrets. It is what it is. If life didn't have those little 'what ifs' now and then, it really could get kind of boring.

The things you come up with! You should be a writer! 😁

Let's not get into the mistakes I have made. We don't have that much time! 🤓

Oh. Oh. Man, that conversation was some time back! How did we get back there?? Confess - you have a time machine! I knew it! 🤪

    Part 5

I never thought I'd see the day when a forum on fonts would spring up in the comment section to one of my stories. Whee!

Yeah, never get in DQ's way when he's on a roll! Life and limb, and all that!

    Part 5

Huh? How did Ivor's balls get into all this? Man! I must have missed a HELL of a party!
  17. It's interesting how events affect all of us differently. Your perspective in both of these poems seems to be on the loss of something, and change, and acceptance. I could feel that, and still be content at the end. Life goes on.

    The Howl

I agree with that. Characters develop an identity strong enough that you can actually run into problems presenting their stories, because to have them say or do some things would be...out of character.

    Ownership

It's good that these people are all together. Lysander should not have to handle his grief alone. Damien needs help with Dylan, and with accepting that his fur is not who he is. Jordan needs help with being a werewolf, and how he got to be that way. Dylan needs parents and a family. All four of these people need each other, and have found a nice arrangement to support and love each other. I like Blanche. She is a family member by proxy, and seems to be enjoying things as much as everyone else (on the good days, anyway). There are also enough hints laying about that the future is going to be interesting. I think you're doing an excellent job with this one!

    Chapter 1

Nice interpretation. Thank you. It is true that, no matter what we are looking for, we will always find it, because we expect to do so. One of the best things about life is the occasional realization that things are not as they seemed. Those little sudden intuitions that make us gasp, especially, are what makes it worthwhile getting up in the morning.
  21. Interesting, fascinating, and totally believable look into another existence. You put a lot into the spotlight with a minimum of words. Great piece, and thank you for sharing it with us!
  22. Very potent chapter. This was a confrontation and conversation that needed to happen, and it was great that Charles was able to bring it all together. I hadn't written Hank off, and I still believe his behavior was the result of some complicated issues in his thinking, rather than the fact that he was just an innate ass. He seems to have needed to show himself a few things, and maybe prove to himself a few things. Just now he seems ready to admit he hasn't been right in the way he's dealt with all of this. Chase has gotten stronger and clearer, and Dawson has been a great friend and helped put a few facts in front of Chase's eyes. Chase may now be able to make a proper decision on all this. The setting is now ripe for...but that's for you to present.

    Chapter 1

Interesting piece. A little Heinlein-style expression of personal thinking here. Not a bad thing.

    Chapter 3

Thank you! Sorry I missed your comment!
  25. Well, no life is ever perfect. The guys all had a nice holiday, but then Andrew comes along to take the shine off everything for Billy. Billy will worry about it far more than he needs to, I suspect. Good thing George and Chris are there for emotional support. I can't remember what happens next!
