Thank you! Your compliment makes me very happy.
  2. Provided. Some, anyway. I'll try to think of more.
  3. Adi Best wishes for your birthday, but more importantly perhaps, best wishes for your recovery. May you be well again, sooner rather than later.

What an asshole pretty much describes Tony's feelings for Stuart. As for what happens next ... You'll just have to keep on reading.

You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment.

  8. @Arpeggio Thanks for your kind thoughts!
  9. “What the hell are you watching?” The tone was one of amused disbelief. Tony turned from watching the TV to see Geoff standing in the doorway. “Food porn.” “What?” Tony sniggered. “It's kinda like the name suggests. Watching some media chef or another preparing something you'd never dream of trying yourself in a month of Sundays. Or eating, for that matter. Fantasy food.” Geoff came and sat down next to his boyfriend on the sofa. Together, they watched the next few minut
  10. @droughtquake Thanks, drought! No, my birthday's far enough from Christmas to avoid that ... just.
  11. A response to prompt 392 forms the next chapter about Tony and Geoff. I'm also writing a response to 628 which is working up to be one of my dystopian tales.
  12. @Parker Owens thank you so much, dear friend. 💜💛💚💙
  13. @Drew Espinosa Thanks, Drew. Mind you don't eat too much 🦃 or 🎃 pie ...
  14. @AC Benus Thanks, AC, for the birthday song. Of course it had to be musical, my friend.
  15. @Ashi Thank you!

  18. @Valkyrie What a cake! Don't forget I already have a crown, so I can eat that one with impunity.
  19. @MrM Thanks! He looks to come from rather further north ...
  20. Thanks, BOP. I'm enjoying having the . Not sure I'll give it back, though ... I mean, it is really mine anyway.
  21. Just looking at my profile, and they've gone again. Maybe there's some other work underway?

    Fall Sightings

Such succulent, brightly hued word paintings. They ping off the page, each and every one. Bright orange treasure is my favourite, it's vibrancy enhanced wonderfully by the withered, bent greyness of the next. Perfect.
  23. A number of times, people have commented on how the lack of a good editor has made them skip or completely ignore stories. I include myself amongst those people. Yet a story can be well-written from that point of view, good English, coherent sentences, and be almost completely lacking in narrative drive. Two stories (from the same non-GA author) suffer from this. I don't quite know why I'm still reading them. The plot trundles along, nearly every day accounted for. The characters do things, but there's no sense of movement, tension, release, anticipation. When something finally happens, and it's an important something, I feel no engagement, no emotional connection, because of this lack of drive. The characters are not cardboard cutouts, but the author does very little to make me care about them. So, unsurprisingly, I find myself skipping through, trying to find something of note, anything which will make me realise why I started reading them in the first place.

    Dialogue

A heated discussion ... ? Wonderful. So natural with the progression and flow. I love open fires, except when the wind's in the wrong direction, or they need cleaning out.
