lmfao... i found that image a few weeks ago Hilarious.
  3. Neither the movies nor the books are technically good, but I find it ironic that there is so much negativity especially on this forum towards this franchise (As everyone seems oddly unaware of what the fandom is sponsoring). What do you think those straight girls would say about all the coming-out gay fiction on the internet? The merit of the 'Twilight' franchise isn't that the books are well-written, that the subject matter is groundbreaking, nor that the acting in the movies is great. The amazing thing about it all is its mass appeal. Just like coming out stories are particularly popular among gay teenagers (I'm not excluding the odd geriatric or the awesome straight girl/mom, so please don't flame me!), so is Twilight with the female audience. The various reasons for this appeal are what make 'Twilight' such a phenomenon. Also, I don't think anything in twilight is homoerotic. In fact, if it ever got to that point, Stephenie Meyer would probably have production stop. She is Mormon. The fact that there is absolutely no allusion to homosexuality in her books supports what many believe is a homophobic sentiment that stems from her religious beliefs. (Just an FYI, if you bought the books, you're pretty much sponsoring the LDS church ) Maddy (:

    x factor

I watch a live feed from the US ;P. I love the X factor, but Simon Cowell is losing a lot of credibility with his unerring support of Danyl. I have perfect pitch, and I can tell you right now that Danyl has had tremendous pitch problems since bootcamp-- the twins can maintain a better pitch throughout their performances than Danyl has shown the ability to do. It's not that he can't sing, because he's a very good singer... but he has a lot of bad habits, the worst being the key change at the end of his phrases. He does this every single time. It didn't bother me so much at first, I thought perhaps he needed an earset to be able to hear himself, or that perhaps he didn't have enough time to practice. The turning point for me was rock week, when he sang that Aerosmith song. He changed keys a few times but never really found the right one, and he knew it. And STILL, Simon Cowell gave him a standing ovation. Simon Cowell is a manipulative bastard. He knows that the average person has horrible pitch, so he hypes up his contestants even when they deserve to go. He kicked out Lucy and went to deadlock on Rachel because he wanted to eliminate the competition. I bet you that if Joe ends up in the bottom 2 he'll give his vote to whoever else is against him (regardless of who it is). Anyway, IMO there isn't really anyone worthwhile left in the competition. Danyl is absolutely overhyped (sorry if you're a fan, but from a technical standpoint, I'm right). Joe's vocal range spans only about 1 and a half octaves, and even though Stacy has a good voice, she's extremely boring. My favorites right now are Jamie, Stacey, and Olly. I had high hopes for Rachel and Lucy, but now that they're out I don't know if XF is worth watching. I wanted Miss Frank to go to the finale .

    An update

It's an interesting book. Much like "The Fountainhead" is to "Anthem", "Atlas Shrugged" goes deeper into her whole philosophy (an expansion of what she tried to communicate in TFH). Though I liked it, I preferred TFH. I won't be reading it again. So... get the audio book . Maddy (:

    BULLSHIT

Drug addicted, Self-proclaimed artists are all full of shit. They have absolutely no talent or vision, so they take psychotropics and depressants to produce... bullshit. Even when the product is salvageable, it is truly art by the drug, and not the 'artist'. It is truly a testament to his lack of talent that even with the aid of drugs he produced utter bullshit.

    HOME!

That's great news! Just sit back and relax for the moment, and slowwwllyyy ease into your normal routine. Very, very slowly.
  8. Two things besides exercise: Eat right and eat often. The 'three meals a day' rule works for most people, but not for others. You can make 5 smaller meals, if you can spare the time, or you can eat healthy snacks in between meals. If you are overweight because of calorie intake, then you need to gradually decrease that intake... otherwise your metabolism slows down considerably and you'll have no energy to exercise. Other important aspects of dieting are supplements: if you're taking out certain foods, or if your previous diet consisted of unhealthy foods, then consider taking a multivitamin pill. This will keep all your processes in check, which will help you shed off even more weight (the healthy way) and will even help control your appetite. It is important that you season your food with spices... otherwise you'll be craving salty foods, and too much sodium=water retention. That doesn't mean you need to take sodium out of your diet, as your body needs it, just avoid salty/fatty foods and snacks like popcorn or chips. Another thing: not all vegetables are good diet food. Carrots and potatoes (I believe potatoes are no longer vegetables) are ridiculously rich in carbs. That being said, there is no miracle diet. Your eating habits should be based on your lifestyle. If you're going to start lifting weights in order to lose weight, you need lots of protein (preferably plant or fibrous; ie broccoli or lentils... or even as a whey supplement). If you're gonna do cardio then you need about as much protein as you need carbs. In both cases, you have to limit the amount of fat you consume. You have the rest of your life to lose weight. Being on a diet doesn't mean that you can't go out for fear of breaking it... it just means having more self control and being aware of the choices you make. Try to spend as much time outdoors as you possibly can, away from your refrigerator. Think of it as a long-term investment, or you will cave in. Maddy (:

    Awesome first two days

And I'm Watching Wibby... (mainly on youtube, by searching for 'cat vs raccoon) When I worked at the Scottsdale Fashion Square I got to do a lot of watching... but I don't think I could work in the same place for two years, folding clothes and waiting to get a loss prevention job. Kudos to you, it's hard to not get bored... but I guess not anymore . Maddy (:

    wow!

I'm kinda hoping you're referring to an actual elephant, otherwise it'd be... molestation. Maddy (:
  12. Lol. I was talking about body size and shape, not the size of my erection. I guess the en parentheses disambiguation wasn't much of a disambiguation. I mean, it's not like I'm the type to flaunt my genitals at a nightclub. Maddy (:
  13. Snip Snip! Maddy (:
  14. Huhuhu. Thank you so much! *kisses* It's a nifty mode, but only for certain things.
  15. I love firefox... but, while I may use it to visit GA, when I have to browse through a topic I HAVE to switch browsers. I don't know if it's only my settings, but whenever I browse through a topic with more than the opening post, FF makes tabs out of all responses (i.e. it looks like a f**kin outline). It pisses me off to no end, especially since I'm a skimmer... can't really do that if I can't see the entire chunk of text. If anybody knows how to fix this problem, please oh PLEASE tell me. Maddy (:
  16. The only Greek person I know IRL is my own personal stalker... otherwise I'd have him translate this for me . Maddy (:

    Evil, Fluffy Thing

hahahahahah Not really a cat person either. I do remember staying up all night when I was 9 trying to comfort my puppies, though. I actually enjoyed it. Maddy (:
  23. 49 here.
  24. I believe 'knowing it by heart' implies familiarity, not memorization . Maddy (:
  25. In Scottsdale it's a sin to even be within 100 feet of a Wal Mart. Everyone here acts like they own half the U.S. Your milk has to be f**kin' Gucci, and knowing the Menu at P.F. Chang's by heart is mandatory. Surprisingly enough, Scottsdale Fashion Square was bursting with people on Friday. It was crazy. Maddy (: Edit: Don't work at Macy's during Black Friday or the day after Christmas. It's seriously the stressful part of the year.
