  1. I really enjoyed the chapter, and the story as a whole . You seem to have a very good grasp of the human condition Kevin (particularly obvious in the characters' peculiar sense of humor). I think it's a great cliffhanger, considering you've already told us there is more to come. One thing though: I think the title might have been a little out of place. I'm assuming it is either foreshadowing of events to come or an internal conflict that wasn't quite addressed. Maddy (:
  2. Well, his signature does say that the next comes out today :eyes: And we all know Kevin is a man of his word *big nudge* so I'm pretty sure we'll have another chapter to read by tonight. Maddy (:
  3. XD Thanks guys. As for cutting my hair or not, I recently got one, so it's actually not as long as in the last two pictures. It's a little longer than the first one, but I'm letting it grow the length of the second picture. My hairdresser wants to do some highlights... (I'm still planning how to say 'no' without it sounding too independent). And yeah... the ocean is definitely a factor preventing our union, Bob lol. Maddy (:
  4. hAHAHAHHAHHAHA!! Lard ass xD. Well, you definitely can't sue them for false presentation xD. Maddy (:
  5. Well this is me. The most recent one is the one in which I have short (though that's debatable) hair. The others are just... ew. Remind me to get a haircut pls. This last one was taken with a cell phone . That's why I look so red. I promise I'm not that scary xD. Maddy (:
  6. Some of us happen to like them in their 30's, tyvm ._. Maddy ._.
  7. I have to say that I had no idea this is where the story was heading O_O. It sort of reminds me of (and no, I'm not implying anything this is simple, harmless juxtaposition) Maguire's allusion to homosexual sex and breeding between the Animals and humans (in 'Wicked'). Very creative and quite well-written, Dan. Two thumbs way up. Maddy (:
  8. Happy B-Day . *frolic* Maddy (:
  9. I've only been acquainted with the definition of 'homosexual' for about 7 years; however, I've been one my entire life and it wasn't hard for me to put two and two together. I've always known what phobia is: as a small child I was diagnosed with lalophobia (though it was really only timidity), so I knew what -phobia was. As a psychology student, I like to confine words to their root and analyze on my own... I don't like dictionaries to lead me astray. I believe this 'new definition' is doing exactly that. We humans like definitions because they allow us to classify things effortlessly... but we have to remember that these often only harm clear perceptions. The problem with these definitions (the newly conceived homophobia and HOCD) is that they target idiosyncratic behavior. The more specific (or definitive) a definition is, the less reliable it becomes. So I guess my answer to your second question is NO... this definition does not in any way or form improve my understanding or change my perception of homophobia. And I'm not good with names, so I won't pretend to know or care about the third question. Maddy
  10. That is really truly evil, Kevin... ; ;. I want to know. I'll send you a Gucci Murse if you tell me xD. Maddy (:

  13. I don't exactly have time to write anything nowadays. I'll answer your questions one by one. I don't have a dream writing environment. The only requirement my muse poses is that I be able to write in a variety of locations. I don't feel comfortable staying in the same place for more than an hour, so I usually stand up and move my notebook wherever I go (though I don't recommend writing while you cook). Again, as my (and my muse's) mood changes, I like to hop from the most empty to the most crowded room in the house. There are five rooms here, not counting the living rooms and garage. Writing outside is out of bounds, as both I and my notebook would implode after being exposed to this season's temperatures. I usually don't listen to music, as I have this very annoying habit of singing even if there are no words (i.e. instrumental) to the melody. Once again, my surroundings depend much on sporadic taste than anything else, which can be a bit inconvenient at times. One thing I do recommend for you to keep in mind though, is that you should always make sure that you are writing for yourself. Don't let that pesky email from Frantic Reader #314 bother you if your life does not allow time for writing at the moment, as you'll most likely end up wearing out your own interest. Of course, there has to be a balance and you should keep your reasons for writing in mind (as self-absorbed, egotistical, or evil as they might be). Maddy (:
  14. I got a little dizzy thinking about it. There should be a society for people with our condition... something like Hypochondriacs anonymous.

  16. Three of my best friends have seen and read all of my work, and a couple of teachers (whom I still have contact with) as I've submitted poems to them that are on the internet (and I don't exactly like the idea of being kicked out of school for plagiarism). My stuff isn't generally erotic, so I wouldn't have a problem if those close to me found out on their own. If they don't like it, I don't want them in my life . Maddy (:

    Executed

Hmm, this is a difficult subject. Who are we to determine who deserves to live? As we certainly don't go around raising the inanimate bodies of those we consider died too young, neither should we have any say on whether or not the living should meet the kiss of death(HURRAY FOR LONG SENTENCES!). Sometimes, when our loved ones die in the hands of merciless murderers, we are quick to think of revenge. We shout "execution!", tossing the word in so many ways and in so many different places that the sound makes us not only deaf, but also blind and stupid. We forget that omniscience belongs only to deity, and we act; we connive, sue, slander, appeal, sympathize, hate, love, and pity, all without any genuine reason. We fail to see and comprehend the silliness of acting for those who have passed on to a possibly better life. Besides, who in the world knows what the dead really want? Perhaps the only thing they want is for their names to rest, so that existence no longer echoes through their bones. I believe execution should not be handled at all. We are certainly going far enough punishing those we merely know (even if it is for the 'betterment' of society). Maddy
  18. This is addictive. Your writing astonishes. It grabs your reader by the shoulders and slaps him/her senseless. Great job. Maddy.
  19. I saw this while on the threadmill at the Y today... it was so sad. I just got off and went home. The news totally killed my adrenaline rush. RIP, Chris Benoit. Birds
  20. I L.O.V.E. (sorry for the annoying dots) that song. God, I really do love it. Marry me. Birds
  21. Umm, I'm too lazy to read off the other two long (but I will bet money that they're awesome) posts, but I do have a short and simple solution to your malady: Ask your dad. Confront him about it, but do it calmly. Part of your anger rises from the fact that you don't know the answer. He probably has a really good reason for it. Or maybe he doesn't, and he needs to know how you feel about it. Birds
  22. ahaha. hilarious stuff (:. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Yeah... don't remember that either O:.
  24. AHAHAHAHA. This just made my day (:.
