Thanks I appreciate that. I was trying to go for one of those old noir narrations, mixed with a bit of how they did Dragnet, obviously with a snarky twist. Despite my full plate I think this is a good series to come back too and I already had some stuff mapped out. I really do enjoy police procedurals and getting the chance to write one was hard to pass up.

These two are actually related. I mean who just hooks up with a total stranger because his eyes glow right? Theres definitely more to that story.

I’ve actually given that first part a lot of thought but I think Morgan is pretty fluid (in more than one way lol) But I don’t think you see how much until the end.

I’m not sure what the hell I just read but I often have that feeling when I read anything @Lee Wilson does for an event. 😂 But. Rhinestone cowboy on a centaur? Someone has to have musical number for it right?

This is a totally new piece from a long time author as she steps out of her comfort zone with not only a new genre but a complete change in narrative style than what she’s known for. But don’t let that put you off from reading this story. The two main characters Nicholas and Noah really come off the page, as the author maintains her ability to weave words into one hell of a setting. While the tale may end here, I hope this is a first of many more great things from this Signature Author.

I honestly don’t know what to say. Im over here trying to spread my wings into third person narrative and see that my first person style is rubbing off on you and damn what an attempt. Im torn between believing Nick just died, or if your going to pull your MO of “using an event to start a new novel” but I can smell the definite end to this but wish it wasn’t so. Although if Nick didn’t die and there is another 300k masterpiece born of out of this I won’t be upset. 😂 This is one hell of a piece of writing and yeah I can tell it’s outside of your comfort zone but you grabbed onto it and went full throttle all the way to the end. If this is a glimmer into the alternative type of love stories you want to do I’m on board 100%, and it makes me wanna join in. Great job @Krista. Perfection as always. ❤️

That’s a good question as I just told someone in PM just now, I had this character on the back burner for a while now because I kinda wanted to do an episodic series with it, with an overall plot like, what happens to the almost disgraced Captain, new partner vibes. I don’t think I’ll end up doing any 20 chapter long mysteries with this guy but it’s a step in the water to figure out what I can do with him. So I’m thinking 1 to 5 chapter novellas maybe with that television show style pacing. Yeah the first episode is a little too neat but I was on a time crunch to get it done so there was some convenience there. I do love the character snark though and think there’s a lot of fun to be had with Danny’s work life his personal life and his boss. She is a monumental bitch after all 😂

A lot to unpack here… So Deborah has always been intended to be a little more complex than she seems. And while it may seem a little unrealistic that she flips like a switch but it’s intended as this whole story has been a weird little satire. There has always been a little bit of an odd love between mother and son, which is why they can argue with each other without either of them being nasty about it. What some people would call “trauma” id just call an interesting relationship dynamic since Sky doesn’t really seem to be affected by his mother’s antics, he’s used to them, expects them and probably would think something was truly wrong if they weren’t there. She chilled out a bit in this chapter and that chill is going to continue for a while. They will of course continue sniping at each other in their own ways, but it’s just how their relationship works. I actually do like Deborah and I like writing her mood swings, because it’s odd to have an accepting character, because at this point the only thing she’s accepting is “this is the way it is just go with it.” Plus I’m going to need her later and you’ll see why eventually. Yeah I missed a Chuck opportunity in this chapter and he’s missing from the next one as well but should appear in 9 onwards. I kinda focused on moving things along last chapter, this chapter and the next one. Gabriel has been my too-good-to-be-true chess piece in all of this and I’m playing the board with him. Sometimes in physics you need an outside force to perturb the gravitational balance of objects that just won’t move the way you want them too, or the way they need them too so yeah…. I do like him as a character even if half the readership thinks he’s secretly the villain in all of this lol. Then we get to Ryan. He is totally the unwilling participant in all of this, he’s friends with nobody in this little fellowship and getting through those walls isn’t going to be easy. But the thing about walls is if the foundation is weak enough they’ll come down on their own. Im more worried about what happens when Ryan finally cracks because he’s got a reputation, friends, and a football team that thinks he’s one thing when really he’s not.
