But yeah there is obviously some kind of information disconnect here. Someone's issuing orders that no one else knows about.

Josh is probably the only person who can do same day service, get kidnapped then drive himself home the same afternoon. And Claire is a professional, with law enforcement staked out at the house she's probably going to wait until they're gone before chewing into her mother.

The CIA Operations Center (OC) – Watch Desk Original Headquarters Building (OHB), 2nd Floor North, Langley, Virginia The room was quiet. This close to the holidays, it was damn near empty, the kind of empty where the hum of servers became the loudest thing in the world. The overhead fluorescents were dimmed to the night configuration, leaving the walls of monitors glowing like a small constellation trapped in a bunker. No windows. No sunlight. Just recycled air, stale coffee, and

November Signature Feature: When Opportunity Knocks by kbois
Jeff Burton commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I can always use a distraction read when I'm supposed to be writing. So here we go. -
I'm working on mine right now I think I might blow through 10k lol

Yeah go ahead and throw me into this. Genre may have to be negotiated. If I can’t make the genre work then I’m going to satire it into another I’m Gay : A <insert genre> Story and totally make fun of it. So far warning.

Self-Hatred....Yes Please
Jeff Burton commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Self-Hatred....Yes Please
Not gonna lie, if I was Devin and Dylan told me about this incident, I’d accidentally hit Ryan with my car. Several times. This whole town seems to be wrapped in crazy secrets, hopefully the right people get hit by cars. -
I’m guessing everyone now sees why I made Elenore the way she is lol

I’ve literally been trying to find a way to get Josh in a situation where something like this could happen and finally found a way. Let’s see if Josh can get out of this one.

Christmas was literally around the corner. Two days. Two more days and the whirlwind of baking, shopping, wrapping, decorating, smiling, mingling, and pretending-I-wasn’t-dying-inside would finally wind down. Whether it would end in a bang or a whimper was anyone’s guess. Personally, I was rooting hard for a whimper. A quiet, uneventful collapse sounded heavenly. The holidays were wearing me out in ways I didn’t even know I could be worn out. We’d gone to a neighborhood Christmas party th

Celia is such a treasure. I get old school Sally Field vibes in my head when I read her dialog. It's comforting and soothing. Then here comes Davin being the Temton's Temptation lol. I know Joel is all hung up about the baseball team, but I really do wish he was able to resolve that conflict and play since it's something that probably brings him great joy. But I get it. I guess I got lucky in the fact when shit hit the fan when I was a teenager, I ended up going back to my original school district that I had been removed from for 3 years. Instead of strangers I ended up back with everyone I knew and it helped immensely.

The Dumpster in the Driveway
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in The Dumpster in the Driveway
Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. If anything the story is meant to show that yes, you can come back from this. If it helps one person then my job was done well. -
It seriously makes me look at my own health, and my stack of unfinished projects, I’m mostly healthy now but that could change without warning so. Yeah. “ I can’t wait to see what the 2027 events bring and hopefully by then I’ve got some more “completed” tags attributed to my works.

Faith, Forgiveness and The Kiss of Eternal Drama
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Faith, Forgiveness and The Kiss of Eternal Drama
Switching from chaos to real is going to be total trick more than anything. Ryan is probably the only normal person in the entire story. He hasn’t said a damn word of dialog in forever. This is going to start crashing on everyone’s heads here in the next 3 chapters when shit gets real. This isn’t a long story it wasn’t meant to be. But it still has some chapters to go. Why? Because your right I can’t maintain this forever and there’s another in progress story that a good chunk of the site reeeeeally wants out of limbo. -

Faith, Forgiveness and The Kiss of Eternal Drama
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Faith, Forgiveness and The Kiss of Eternal Drama
I had to breakdown this reply into multiple bits lol. Let's start off with his friends. They're fluffy on purpose, they mean well but they're young and dumb and really lack the wisdom needed to navigate through some of this. I mean they mean well but their advise needs to be fact checked, Kenzi at least said "you need to talk to him" and while Lex is my favorite happy go lucky sidekick gone wrong, he really is helpless lol Let's talk about Gabriel, we don't know much about him yet, except he's bi and had his own issues. You're totally correct. He did mean that kiss. But he went into it knowing that Sky had eyes on someone else. Yes he could set himself to be the backup if Sky and Ryan blow up, but really he likes Sky, and sometimes being a friend is more important than other personal motivations. More of his past will probably come later in the story and maybe that'll explain some of his motivations. And you are right that no one is that puppy but wouldn't it be great if someone actually was? lol Onto Sky's family dynamic. If you notice that every individual in this family is so vastly different than each other that if they weren't a family they wouldn't even know each other. I did that on purpose. It's like nuclear family but in reverse without it being devastatingly painful. There is love in that house but it's chaotic without it being borderline abusive. They thrive on their chaos, dad's just in the background making sure the bills get paid. The quiet voice of reason the few times he looks up from the paper. Mom is just... I actually do love her. She's so clear in her convictions even if they're wrong. But she is a mom who loves her family. Sloane who we don't see much of is the bad bitch of the story. I always have one of those because I had one around me during difficult times once that's why there is always this character in everything I write. When I started this story and made mention of "Father Matthew" I always knew this conversation that happens in this chapter was going to be a thing, I just didn't know when. I make no secret that I have my own faith and have kept it with me since I was little. I'm not a preachy guy because I believe that faith, much like your sexual identity is a personal journey that only you can make. People can tell you about both, you can read about both but at the end of the day it's a decision you yourself have to come to terms with. There can be good with religion. It doesn't happen a lot but it truly does warm me on the inside when it does happen. Just so everyone knows though, I'm not Catholic. I've had this interest in Catholic Church though since I was young, maybe it's because it's been around as long as it has. It was around to see the fall of Rome (and probably had a hand in it) but I'm a history nerd and I lock into stuff like that sometimes. Sometimes that particular religion has a shade of grace I can't identify even if it does the wrong things half the time. Maybe I just like the church architecture who knows. As for my writing style, you mentioned to me either in a comment or in a PM when we were talking about that other thing that my style seems to make the characters feel like they are living in the "now." I have not been formally educated in writing aside from the AP english/litcomp classes I was in during highschool before I had to drop out. I wish I was the kind of writer that could be as literary descriptive of things like you are, sometimes it feels like my style is more like a TV series or something like that in the pacing and movement and sometimes lack of description. I am continually working on it though. But one thing I am sure of after reading the hundreds of thousands of words people have written here is that my style does seem to be unique. And all I can do is just continue to make it a better as I go along. And lastly, Skylar and Ryan. The whole thing could crash and burn. It could work out. It could work out while everything else crashes and burns. I started this story as a joke, pure satire, total trash. But I think this story going to turn into one of the ones I'm going to be remembered by more than any other lol.- 23 comments

At one brief time in my life I had hoarded enough of Delta's skymiles to qualify for lounge access. And really I wasn't trying to be snooty, it was just about 3 years of flying first class non-stop because I liked the seats If anything my experience was like the Beverly Hillbillies first exposure to LA, at least everyone was nice about it. lol
