Gun carrying intruders--unable to reach the safe room---Essell does not stay close to be able to use the safe room as Garjah asked. Essell, Ases and Bouncer flee out a window into the jungle to avoid the intruders Who are the armed intruders ? Are they with the bad guys or are they part of Garjah's security forces? How did they get Garjah's transport and get in his home so easily? What are their intentions? The boys cannot really be safe in an unknown jungle with possible predators and criminals nearby. Bouncer and the mech are going to be busy. Garjah is going to return soon. He must have surveillance on his home and will be alerted about trouble.

After reading some comments and thinking about the actions of people in the town, I may or may not see described sometime-- How Matheus accepts sea life and his role with Captain Granger and Winkler. He is very young to even be a ships boy, I think. At least he will stay with Granger at home to be educated and not at sea as long as St Vincent keeps Granger confined. How Lord Daventry and Lt Fitzgerald react with each other after a night visiting the ladies of easy virtue and how possibly the relationship between Lt Fitzgerald and Lord Daventry and possibly Lord Granger modifies since the Lt went off with Daventry . Daventry likely briefly will tell Granger of their exploits. I expect Granger to not take notice, unless Fitzgerald acts like Lord Daventry is his new hero and mentor. It will be Fitzgerald's loss. Lt Fitzgerald is not going to England/London with him so his time to learn from Granger is limited on the ship. I do not think Lt Fitzgerald has been told this. Admiral Nelson has asked for Lt Fitzgerald back when the Calliope reaches his fleet since he felt he could better assure Lt Fitzgerald's promotion as an admiral. How will Midshipman Anson and Granger relate with each other--simply professionally or eventually more like Midshipman Granger acted with his first Captain? Granger will not push him. He admired Anson in the sauna and compared his lithe, fetching body to another bed mate--Lennox. I agree with others that it does seem that Granger's aunt left him something important. The lawyer needed to talk to him first. We will find out when he returns home. Either new land or money or both could help him and Caroline assist the transition of their Catholic tenants and would be free and not part of any past agreement/limitation. How will any other mail in the packet influence anyone on the ship ? Granger read Caroline's letter first. Possibly, Lord Daventry has some foreign office mail and news of his child which he might cover later with Granger. Caroline might have also written Daventry separately since she did not review his child's progress in her letter to her husband. Daventry would love news of his child, I bet. Will Granger try to find if any of his officers have musical talent, as he has done on his other commands, and begin the process for musical events?

Thanks for the three part update Cyrus with Kaplan's help worked out a good deal with the vampire chairman. This situation crossed lines but I think the vampires going it alone was always going to cause problems. The head bad guy who the vampire chairman wanted to put in jail belonged to the pack . Maybe through this investigation Cyrus can show that both sides can be trusted to do what is right and future cooperation is going to be accepted and needed. Vincent is learning his job and his trainer is open to his suggestions for improvementt which sound useful and a bit more work. He likes his job and has been going home to see Mason and have great sex. The EC will need Vincent since they are short staffed. His first assignment seems to have been to an easy pack with no problems so far. The alpha of the pack will talk to Vincent after the job is done. We did not gain any hints of what he will tell Vincent. Dirk and Ingle--bear and lycan--are getting along much better than they thought. Gay sex is even fun for them. A meth house explosion and fire took the attention of the police and fire departments. Dirk and Ingle raced to the scene and were able to spot the meth lab guys hidding in a car far away observing the fire. Our two heroes moved quickly and took action to see they were arrested. Question: The supernatural beings in the town have extra powerful senses. Whty did not someone smell or sense that drugs were being made earlier ? A neighbor was suspicious and might have given a clue about problems to the police. Could not a bear or lycan in a police car driving down a street smell drugs ?I would think with the type of beings in the police department that any drugs would in town would be found and the criminals arressted quickly.

Canuk said--...."how far do we think Graingers ( sic?) going to get with Anson" I think the shoe is on the other foot--I seem to remember a Midshipman Granger initiating sex in a very personal meeting with sexual undertones with his very appealing and powerful captain on his first ship. I think Granger might respond to Anson but not be the one first to suggest having sex. He would not be turned off by their age or rank differences since he had a precedent. As of now we know Anson is becoming more relaxed and thinks the world of his captain, but we do not know his sexual prefereces . We should find out if they find enough time to be in close proximity in non-formal situations and the right mood hits them.

Self-centered George cannot understand the concept of duty or honor or even love. He remains upset that Karl returned to his pilot training and did not flee the Air Force to stay wih him, Both really do exist in two different worlds. George is a hollow , cynical man. He knows physical love, but not romantic, caring, take the good with the bad love. Karl is trying to serve a higher purpose which could cost him his life.

George Granger is a man of substance and purpose who wears well on ship and shore. He keeps friends and returns to places and regains aquaintances. He finds and helps lost souls. His past actions at Visby is helping his ship and his men. I liked how he took Matheus who has a hard life without any family under his wing and intends to help him get to England and a life at sea. It seems to be a patern of sorts for him. Winkler will undoubtably dote on him too and Matheus probably will help him care for Granger. Daventry and Fitzgerald are going cavorting with ladies of ill repute. Granger did not seem bothered by Fitzgerald's decision and kept his libido in check as he admired a naked Mr. Anson. Granger was able to enjoy a sauna with Mr Anson who has started to be more relaxed around him. Caroline's letter kept him more up to date on court, political and family news. Her anquish over having to remove Catholic tenants showed clearly. She missed George's guidance' He was somewhat aided by her concern. He knows his wife will try her best to find them new homes. He lives in a family with different sides and while at sea he has not faced the battles within. George and Daventry apparently are being praised by high government officials for their service in Russia, Caroline has not mentioned Lord St Vincent nor has he received any correspondence from him. This lack of communication worries George. What will await him at the admiralty when he retruns home ? But before arriving in England, George must command a ship at war in unfriendly waters. Maybe, he can capture a privateer or two on the way back? He seems to need to return home to have a fulfilling love life. Mark, I join in thanking you for this holiday timed chapter. George is a man with a great sense of duty and honor and passion who takes on great challenges and succeeds for his country and King. Your two stories are true joys to read in their own unique ways. They make me think and dream up future chapters and scenarios of adventure , love and lust. But when your real stories arrive, they are always better than my efforts

Alec is going through so much pain and alternating numbness and drift. His mother finally died and he helped take care of necessary details, His dad was lost and uncertain. His wife was his only confidant . He had no other riends . Alec , however, did have good friends who helped him and took he and his dad get home. River and Finn were champs and very needed supporters in Alec's time of despair. Alec at first wanted to stay with his dad in his old bedroom in his old home, His dad seemed so out of it. He did not want him to be more alone. Alec needed sleep badly. River stepped in and said he would stay and give Henery, the dad, some company. Alec fell into Finn's arms and went home with him. It's done for now. He can almost put his his mother out of his mind, . He still does not know how to define his relationship, if any, with his dad, Alec will not let him defend his hateful mother. There must be some type of funeral and old issues must come up again as he talks to people. Seeing any of his mother's religious friends will be upsetting. He will need this process to end and heal himself. He might find closure with his parents after the funeral and burial. Finn and River can strengthen him and he will be able to see that Finn is his future. They are good for each other. It is not uncommon for couples who have lived together for a long time and are elderly to die within a few months of each other. The death of one partner hits the other too hard and they lose the will to live. Alec's father does seem lost .Alec needs to act in ways now that he will be in the town to not deepen any guilt if and when his father dies too soon.

Thangs move along and develop--the gallery, the club, the membership, Armand's paintings and works. Armand follows his own insights and takes on projects he likes. A good friend from Spain visits and is heartily welcomed. Even MaryLou and her mother have mellowed and are acting appropriately. What a pleasant evolution.

I don't have a vote--but I have a wish--that Kage and Elijah fall in love( mated or not) and both have lots of passionate fulfilling sex that strengthens their relationship which lasts no mater what cliffies or red herrings or misunderstandings take place. I do know no hints or answers are going to be given, but you might want to know what we think can really advance the story.

If this is a $2 billion foundation, it should be giving away $100 million a year on average. A $200m ( $ 200, 000 in shorthand) request might well be too small to get board attention.One way to get around a selective or filtered list is to send the grants committee a not too long list of completed declined formal requests ( not the many hundreds or thousands of inquiries) and let any board member ask about specific declined formal requests at he committee meeting. I doubt that the foundation is making many small grants maybe under $50m unless it has special programs. The appropriate staff member that handled the request can answer any questions and this is helpful from my experience. BTW, what Will did by funding a project is not unusual. He was being generous and helpful. I worked for a foundation where the donor's son helped projects that he liked and did not use the foundation to fund his charitable interests ( which could be illegal) . He especially aided projects which were in his denominational religious interests and not the foundation which was open to all faiths.

If the threat is because of pup data, the sooner the better the right person is notified to address and to remove the threat. He has been called two weeks in after Kage was present and did not report the laptop yet to anyone in Montana. If this is a red herring, it has served its purpose to distract us away from other issues.

Kage does not have to manipulate Elijah, I think. He has him emotionally and otherwise. If they find the laptop, Elijah will want to check out if it has any pup data or at least make a copy and send to Sebastian, He will want to be done with the reviewed laptop and let Kage take it and the threat of being shot away

Does not Elijah owe Sebastian a call no matter his own risky situation? He and Kage think one possibility is that the laptop might be connected to information on the missing hybrid pups? Sebastian should be informed of the possible connection with the pups and laptop and and that it is owned by a powerful, criminal lion shifter, Kasar Huntington. Sebastian can send some one to help Elijah ( especially if the boss calls Kage away) and can conduct his own high level research on Kasar.

Yes, it is time for full disclosure with Tyler. He is fully trusted by Elijah and knows he is a shifter. They have now both been subject to gunfire. Some shouted and pushed them down. Tyler went through hell at the funeral. His thoughts ranged from sad to sadder. He cried as he had to cry. He was finally comforted by Kage, Tyler and Tyler;s family. Having recently attended the funeral of a dear friend who was killed and died too young, I can relate to what was written and know it is too painfully realistic. What a shocking ending though. Shots were fired. I bet Kage saved them. The criminals could have nbeen the same ones who killed Elijah's parents. They still want the laptop. Is it time for Elijah to ask for help from his shifter friends in Montana?

This was a powerful and defining chapter. Will was able to help Claire she why her and her husband's refusal to let their son follow his dream with a band was counterproductive. Will told her it was very important to her son ( it was the first time he rebeled) and he might get into a more destructive environment if his dream was crushed. Will was clear and gave well reasoned points and new information to Claire. They ended pleased with each other. Will saved their parent-son relationship, it seems. Will opened a can of worms with his information on a declined applicant.He thought the project and the staff response could be studied. Grand gave him context and a plan for his investigation and board report. Contacting staff will send off red flags. Will said he was not making the case for reform just to give the group money. He already sent them a check for the full project, Grand said the staff had to be trusted unless other information was available and . Will suggested the board needed firmer control over grantmaking and Grand verbally outlined some ideas in response and will later draft up something in writing. Well,any suggestion that a decision by staff was in error will upset staff. A plan for actual board control of grantmaking is long overdue and uncharacteristic of large staffed foundations. What Grand suggested for a tiered approach for staff and actual board decisions based on the size of the request ( for example -- grants up to x amount can be approved by a program officer, grants of up to a larger y amount and can be approved by a vice presdent, grants up to Z amount can be approvded by the president and the largest sized grants require a full board vote and presentation }Also the board could have a committee or subcommitte on grantmaking These are all common practices. among the largest foundations That they are not more in control is a sign of board weakness . They are still legally resposible for the grants but they did not have the right knowledge or have not made specific decisions allocating authority . This grantmaking change has the potential to shake up the staff. Some who don't want to lose the power they had in grantmaking might leave. Finally, Brads' letter left Will speechless. Brad fully appologized, acknowleged his faults and errors in dealing with Will. Brad was very contrite by what he said and how he said it. Brad immmediated transferred $150 million to Will's control and would do the rest if Will asked. He wanted to show Will he trusted him. Wow, now what Will say to his dad? Is this a start of a better relationship?

Ok--Jonathan better call Maddox and Rusty can give him the number. He should get ahead of any gossip plus give thanks to Maddox at this time for him being a wonderful BF?

Ok--if the author wants to be a downer or trouble maker then Rusty and Jonathan connecting and becoming happier over a meal at the place Rusty shares regardless of their shitty families, then the Xpress will poison the well and Maddox will hear the wrong things when he returns. This will cast a pale over the three at first. Jonathan, especially, needs a supportive boyfriend and campus friends group to compensate for his terrible father and family. It would be cruel to hurt him when he is down and any attack by Maddox would be unfairly based on lies. Maddox will regret anything nasty comments when he finds out the truth Maddox if he becomes worried should ask the boys directly and not rely on heresay or gossip. I hope Maddox returns with a stronger desire to be a great boyfriend and is happy to find Rusty and Jinathan are bonding. He should be confident in his ties to Jonathan.This could be a real test for Maddox. I hope he should not be threatened by Rusty or fail to trust Jonathan. We will find out in a chapter or two.

Jonathan has a horrible, miserable family who does not even know what Thaksgiving is about. Jonathan called home and has found out he has to make his life elsewhere to maintain his sanity and dignity. He is stuck on campus Rusty is a wonderful more complex person and he should reveal himself more as they share Thanksgiving They can become real friends with shitty families. Jonathan will cook and Rusty will supply the turkey and the two will share the Thanksgiving meal. They can create the welcoming spirit of the season together. It is a marvel that Rusty could hide from Maddox and others that he was very good singer of opera who impressed Jonathan. I am looking forward to their conversation. They both deserve a break and better moods.

BTW--if there is a poster of Jay Petermyer-was not another poster missing? Could not Elijah have had a poster of Loren the influencer and human shape shifter of lifestyles and tastes?
