OK, not a cliffie, but a curve ball. Maybe a last minute curve ball. We learn Loe has become really in love with Jay in a new, deeper way, He surprises Jay with a ring and proposal of marriage. Jay responds soon.... “I’m so glad we watched the kids last night because I’m going to run you into the ground tonight.” A shiver rolls down my spine like a straight shot of tequila. “Promises, promises.” Jay’s hands squeeze my ass and his lips trail neck feverishly. “Not a promise,” he says between kisses. “It’s a guarantee.” But later that night Jay backs off his guarantee and says they need to be celibate till they are married. His change surprises Loe. Loe takes this cold shower better than I expected and agrees to Jay's demand without putting up a fight. He hopes it is a short engagement. I hope Loe can really accept this change. I can see him try to seduce Jay,

I think the way Ken and River are clicking that Alec will not need to worry about disserting him or having to add Finn to their relationship with River feeling left out. Ken really is into River and is willing to pay big bucks to get him a last-minute plane ticket to Japan. The exact nature of how River and Ken relate is left as a mystery. River wears a small lock on a necklace. Ken having a regular sized key on his wrist suggests something or someone important to him is locked. Maybe the key is for an attaché case or...?

Garjah leads a serious investigation, and all people are being systematically interviewed. He is told the balls were guided by an outside source but the video of the identified area was corrupted. By coincidence or reasoning, Bouncer sniffs a ball and quickly takes off to the outside --maybe to find who sent it. Meanwhile, almost the whole room is in a panic trying to avoid a running Bouncer.

Alec stood his ground and opened up to Finn who was initially very hostile. Their discussion became a roller coaster of emotional outpourings--some very raw. Alec set the path with a simple question. “What if…what if I stay?” Finn’s head jerked up and snapped in Alec’s direction, “What are you talking about?” “Staying. If I do, do you think we could have something that worked?” Alec’s eyes dipped from maintaining eye contact and he struggled to make himself reestablish it. Then they really talked and laid bare their wishes, concerns. and fears. Finn finally bought into the possibility and became worried Alec would grow to hate living in his hometown and miss Washington. He realized staying was not enough. He offered that they might find a different option to both living together in Iowa or either one giving up the life they built. Finn spoke out loud as he began to think of a mutually beneficial new solution. He wants Alec to see a new choice and help define it. Alec became worried about the yet unknown new choice and Finn must be sensing how Alec is reacting. In the next chapter, Finn should flesh out with Alec's buy-in an alternative arrangement. Any path will need lots of support from Finn and ongoing talking with Alec. I am very interested to see what Finn proposes.

Good chapter full of false starts and ending with a go for broke solution by Loren --- Loren finally gets to the best and most generous offer he can make to Jay--move-in, marriage, no kids but lots of uncle time. He offers a major commitment to Jay. Their friends know Loren messed up. Jay left him and eventually agrees to see him in Seattle but Loren won't make a full commitment like Jay wants. He makes band-aid offers. Loren gets good advice from his friends and Matt and Seamus and Lars. Jay is tricked to come to Denver by Matt and Seamus. Loe walks into a room and sees him surprising both men. Loren has to make his pitch quickly. He has figured out what he can offer to bring them together and hopes jay will take him back. Will we hear of wedding bells in the next chapter?

Armand is really getting into the details. He covered a lot of ground with Collin and Mary his mother, in non-technical terms. I guess he is going to be the general contractor. His fee structure sounds like he is putting the club on solid footing. It looks like a great deal has to happen on time if the club will open on July 4.

Great, passionate, life affirming sex. Finn bottomed first but the made love many times. Finn said he knew they were going to be apart, and he wanted them both to have this joyous experience. He said he waited 10 years for this, Alec said he was spoiled, and nothing could or would compare to this time Alec discerned Finn was not ok with a one night stand. He wanted him to stay. Alec is looking up airline ticket prices. He is running away. The are at an impasse. Neither will give an inch. Having a mutual love fest in bed did not change their minds so they now wanted to be together in the same location. Are they ever going to be a couple? What could happen to push together or farther apart?

Garjah is proceeding to investigate the attack professionally with no assumptions about who was behind the attack. So much is not know yet. He is going to question the people inside and look at the video tape to see of the intended targets can be found. It seems the weapons were from his planet and were very cruel killers. Ases' mech surprisingly stopped the orbs. I bet any future attacks will be conducted without Ases and his mech present. The mech is Ases' Bouncer. I hope enough information can be found to identify who conducted the attack and why they did it? The threat has to be neutralized to keep Ases, Garjah and Essell safe.

I am not a psychologist, but I will wager an opinion on Loe's problems since his behavior fits a person I know. He is troubled by his past abandonment and worries he will be abandoned in future serious personal relationships like his parents abandoned him. This can be a very deep and overwhelming problem. Consequently, Loe is challenged to make a real commitment to a fundamental relationship for fear he will again be abandoned. Loe has grown up with good friends as a support group and has a strong internal compass that is undergirding him. Still, he cannot make a commitment as important as marriage to Jay as he seeks, fearing he will later be abandoned. We should find out as the story ends what has happened to Loe and Joy and how they have adjusted to each other.
