A one chapter story I found today. It is a good mix of reality and fantasy. The writing is thoughtful and thought-provoking. The longing of a young man's heart comes through as he copes with his future and past.

Jeffery, placements end for any number of reasons:
the child placed, ages out--they turn 18 and must leave the home. if they don't, the foster home can be shut down.
the courts move them--maybe for the child's protection.
they are reunited with parents.
their parents rights have been terminated and the child is placed with relatives.
the child is adopted.
the child dies.
