  1. i am an adoptive mom. and droughtquake is right. man it feels amazing when it happens. i hate the term "real mother", what the hell am I? a figment? a ghost? i sat with him through every childhood trail, every hospital/ER visit. yeah, i'm not real.
  2. Dear Universe, Help us to remember that pain is only temporary. It may last a minute, a day, a year or even decades. The tears that come with pain can blind us to the beauty that surrounds us. Bring us the courage and strength to face what tomorrow brings. Help us not to be scared to rely upon others. Help us to accept kindness and help, with grace. Give us wisdom to know when to say goodbye.

    we adopted our son. his life was not good before we got him. so bad that the doctors diagnosed PTSD when he was 6 months old even at 24 he has minor issues. believe or not, we got him at 3.5 months
  5. for me, it would depend on circumstances. is the place busy than i wouldn't stay long. empty, then i'd stay, but would buy something more than just coffee. i worked serving coffee. the one just sitting hour or more ate into my tips. quiet day, it was nice company.

  20. This was one of the first stories I've read on the site. It is a story that I have read and reread many times (i've lost track, 4+) and will again. It is not the usual shifter story and the love story. Great job, Gary!
