First Post in the new Forum, so it has to be about what your favorite system is. For me, I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since JR. My first D&D character was a Halfling named Demetrious Greenleaf, and he was the Halfling Race Class from the Basic D&D Blue Box. From there, it was then Palladium book's ROBOTECH and RIFTS settings. However, I always stuck to D&D, and have played each edition they've put out. By far the 5th edition ruleset is my favorite. They've really gone a long way into streamlining the system and making it more for immersive storytelling. I've played in games Online via Skype, and in person. Each has their own pros and cons, but it's all fun.

We're getting closer, and closer to what people call the singularity. I don't find that prospect frightening like some do, but I think we're coming into a new golden age of mankind. Voice control is the next leap in that direction. Personally, I have Cortona disabled on my Laptop. She's a ram hog, on my ancient craptop.

The Half-Elven Warlock: An Urban Fantasy Tale

And I appreciate what you guys did for me a lot. -
Currently writing Chapter 5 of my Urban Fantasy story. Also doing a lot of worldbuilding for it as well.

I got one I'm working on, and posted a sneak peek of it in the Writer's Club. It's outside my confort zone, as it's being written in 1st person PoV, so it's taking a bit longer than normal. Also, I want to post it, after I finish it. I got too many on-going serial stories in my opinion. Here's the Linkage:

The Half-Elven Warlock: An Urban Fantasy Tale

Thanks, tim. I went a little off script, but so far the new direction is working a lot smoother. It was advice from my great Editor @Kitt, and fantastic fellow author @Mikiesboy, that pointed me in the new direction. I was looking for a way to bring in the Assassin from chapter 1, and you guys pointed me towards an answer. Also, been doing a lot of worldbuilding for the Fairie. -
I knew this guy once, that swore all he did was pot. But, it really messed him up. He couldn't remember his own name and had to look at his Driver's Lic. I swear he was smoking something that was laced with something else.

More often than not, that's why I write. To escape, and to help myself out. I'm happy that people like the stuff, I've chosen to share.

"The perception of Normality is what elevates us above the chaos that is actually the norm." - A random substitute teacher in my High School years ago. I'm not 100% sold on the idea that Chaos is the natural state of the universe, due to a lot of patterns of Order that can be found in all things. However, what I feel this person was trying to tell us, those many years ago, is that Humans have used Law/Order to define societal norms, in order to advance the human condition. Outside of that, Humans use a lot of orderly patterns in order to define their existence. While your day starts at 4:45 am, mine ends around 3:00 am, and then starts again sometime around 7:30 am, with the screaming of the baby coming from the other room. That's my current normal. Routines, order, normalcy, they are all words that describe the patterns we each settle into, in order to process how we handle our time.

I've always heard that Writer's block, is when the voices in your head, refuse to talk to you.

Same here. The ones I did post here, I asked GA to delete them months ago they were so bad. Aside from Poetry, I think writing Historical Pieces, FanFiction in some realms, and Erotica in general. I'm always self-conscious when writing two guys getting in on. I'm not into a lot of Fetish stuff, personally, so when I do write sex scenes, they tend to be fairly vanilla. Mainly, because I don't want to offend someone that might be into what I'm trying to write about. I've come to the conclusion, that Fade to Black is the best way to go.

@Timothy M. I thought I was the only one who was thinking, that sentence was a little off. Even saying it out loud sounds iffy. If I used that sentence, I would swap "what" for "where" as well.

Well, I'm glad you were able to capture them, while they were still there. -

I enjoyed the visuals, tim. Thank you for sharing them with us. -
I think you did. LOL. Your poems.

I wrote death as part of the recent Forbidden Love story for two reasons. 1. It was the only ending the fit the 1500 word limit. I tried to save them, but in the end, the story felt it needed it. 2. To remind people that Outside of most Western Countries (USA, Canada, most of the EU), Gay = Death. And that is as recent as TODAY 2/27/2018, that I read a story about it happening in the Middle East. Hopefully, it makes people think a bit more, and where our priorities should lay. I agree that to write the death of a Character, you need to be prepared for the backlash of it. I was but was surprised the opposite happened with No Regrets.

Might seem a little dark, but I kinda like: Retribution Vengeance Avenger

That it is. No lie. I went looking for a pic, just one, for armor for my DnD character. Three hours later, I had over 200 pics saved to Pinterest, and about a quarter of that, downloaded.

Yes. It's called "Backup and Sync from Google." I have it on my laptop. You just have to tweak what folders you want to save, and how it handles deletion of files.
-
I don't have Dropbox, but I use OneDrive and Google Drive. Cross-platform OneNote is a GODSEND!!! I can do notes at home, and access them on any computer.
-
This has happened to me. I had a file become corrupted, and when I went to the backup in the cloud, it was several days old. So, a story that was pushing the 6000-word mark, ended up with just a small piece of just under 700 words, or so. I was devastated. After a day or two, I went back and finished the work, and had some friends look it over, and it got posted. I have both physical and digital copies of my Notes Journal, and it works for me. Some of my best thinking happens, usually where I'm someplace away from my laptop. That's when the pen and paper come out. But, even being bit by the TechnoDemons, I still use the digital landscape for notes.

The Half-Elven Warlock: An Urban Fantasy Tale
Brayon replied to Brayon's topic in Stories Discussion Forum
RetConed Chapter 3 is off for an Author Review. Then, to the editing and beta team. Once that's done, I'll be back on track to finish this story. Still planning 2 final chapters and an Epilogue. -
The Half-Elven Warlock: An Urban Fantasy Tale
Brayon replied to Brayon's topic in Stories Discussion Forum
Very true, and I'll definitely be needing the help of the editing team, to make sure I get the parent parts right. LOL. I'm not a dad, though I helped raise a couple of other people's kids. I have no clue what to do as a dad. -
The Half-Elven Warlock: An Urban Fantasy Tale

He is misguided, somewhat with how he handles his two half-elven sons. Chapter 3 discusses it somewhat, and I'm revising that in RetCon.
