  1. Wow! When you do an epiphany, you don't go soft. Talk about role reversals, I almost feel as if they've done a total mind switch since the last chapter. I am impressed that Coy has seen what Boone has gone through and what he needs. Maybe he's acting so hard towards Boone as a means of self survival/preservation. Coy knows that this is going to be so hard on him and he's got to toughen up to get through it, but he's so conflicted about Boone leaving that he is also playing "mother hen" and worrying about Boone and his journey. What a great chapter @Headstall. I can't wait for the next installment.
  2. I can't imagine. It has to be so difficult for you trying to figure out if it's depression or manipulation. But you gut is telling you that something isn't right, and moms always know--be it intuition or Momdar. You were right to call the therapist. Hopefully he can get to the bottom of it and get things back on track one way or another.
  3. Happy Monday DiCers! Hope you all have a great day. I feel like I should have today off because I basically worked all weekend long, but I got a lot accomplished.
  4. I've grown very frustrated at this point. I thing I'm going to give this one a pause.
  5. Good morning DiCers! I hope that every one has a terrific Friday! I know I can't wait for this week to be over. It's amazing how one simple deal can get so complex and stressful because of egos. I took a page from @mollyhousemouse and did some self care yesterday at my chiropractor. Wow what a difference he made! I feel so much better today. I owe @Wayne Gray my thanks for making light of @Mikiesboy's Instant Pot's potential jealousy issue. It reminded me to take a pot roast out of the freezer for dinner because it's supposed to get a bit nippy here over the weekend. Those of us with aged minds have to take our reminders wherever we can get them. 🤣 Take care and stay safe friends.
  6. Beach chair, sunscreen, sunglasses, and umbrella too?? LOL. Seriously, I hope the line moves quickly and you can get out of there with everything you need. 🤞
  7. Clone him please and send him to me! LOL. Pre-owned manufactured homes are a NIGHTMARE to sell in my county. If there's a way to screw it up, the dealers will find a way to do it here. 9 times out of 10 the title hasn't been cancelled even though they're being taxed as real property. Oh and don't get me started about the number of folks who think they've have a modular only to find out that data plate sticker in the kitchen cabinet means it's a doublewide.
  8. Bailey's also goes very nicely on top of ice cream.......so I've been told. 🤣 Sorry you've had so much trouble at the MVC. They're a beast during normal times. I can't imagine what it's like now.
  9. That sounds like a great plan. No point in beating your head up against that brick wall or letting the world annoy you. Also like @kbois suggested, chocolate or wine (or both) when all else fails. LOL.
  10. ^This^ I guess I'm in the minority with @Onim . While I do feel for Coy, Boone is hurting also. Boone has been a loyal friend to Coy and despite the fact that Coy can't or won't give him what he needs, he's stuck by him for years and put his own happiness and needs on the back burner. Why in the world shouldn't he seek happiness and do what he wants instead of worrying about Coy? I think the one "cutting off his nose" is Coy, but that's just my 2 cents worth. This is becoming be a really terrific story @Headstall, and I'm enjoying it! Next chapter please! 😁
  11. Good morning DiC'ers. @chris191070 I'm sorry you're going through that. Mine hits about 2-3 A.M. once or twice a week. It's very annoying. @kbois I was just at Aldi's yesterday morning and I bypassed the bread and baked goods. DRAT! LOL @mollyhousemouse Sounds like you've had a time with new recipes. Time for some comfort food---Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, and Green Beans. And pie with ice cream for dessert. Good old fashioned Mom or greasy spoon diner food! LOL Take care everyone and I hope you have a great day.
  12. Oh brownies.......YUM!! You've given me a most sinful idea. I believe I have a mix in the pantry and some butterscotch chips. 😁 It's rained almost the entire day here. Apparently it's the leftovers from Hurricane Delta. Other than a quick run to the grocery store all I've done is laundry today. It's hard to get motivated when it's grey and gloomy outside. I hope that everyone has a good evening.

I think that Jared is more heart hurt rather than butt hurt (if you know what I mean, LOL). Under ordinary circumstances, Shane's "confession" about owing the bar wouldn't have been such a big deal. But I think it opened up some fresh wounds about Chris' lying about being married and Jared transferred that hurt and mistrust onto Shane. Jared really was a jerk to him and Adrian and Mike were right in calling him out about his behavior. It was so out of character for him and he should have had that conversation with Shane in private. But I wouldn't count Shane out of the picture just yet. He's got a eye for Jared and I'm not imagining that cowboy giving up on roping his calf too easily. Well that's my 2 cents worth anyways.

Nope. Not where I was going with my speculation. " it goes into rather than onto...." I'll leave it at that rather than risk spoiling @Laura S. Fox's next chapter. Gotta love a mild cliffhanger. LOL.
  15. Check Goodwill or flea markets (if they're open in your area). They're usually a great source for things like that.

I don't think it's a ring at all. I'm going to do the 50 shades thing and say it goes into rather than onto another part of the anatomy and that's why Adrian grimaced. And Jared doesn't stand a chance right now. Shane's set his sight on him and he's not going to know what has happened until it's too late. Great chapter @Laura S. Fox
  17. That' wonderful Fae. Happy Birthday to him. Honk, Honk!!
  18. Good afternoon rick and everyone. I hope that everyone is having a good FriYay!. So along the lines of important things and priorities, my city has banned door to door trick or treating this year. Instead, they're going to do a drive through trunk or treat at the local park. I think that @Starrynight22's creativity must have rubbed off on my city's leaders. It's not often that they do the right thing, but this time they did. It does suck for the kiddies, but it's about keeping people as safe as possible and trying to minimize the spread. Priorities in proper order--check.
  19. I'm glad you dropped in tim. It's good to hear from you and I hope you have a good day as well.
  20. Exactly. This part in the story really bothers me. Nash has never struck me as a schemer, but this has put him in an unflattering light with me. His earlier actions of taking the family to task during the game should have stood on it's own merits.
  21. I'm not quite there yet, but a lot closer rather than further. LOL. It was just weird for me to have any sort of reaction. Guess it was a individual thing. Still, it was minor compared to doing nothing and risk getting the flu with this pandemic going on. The last time I got the flu, I was really sick. It took me a good 3 weeks to get back to my old self. After that experience, I've never missed getting a flu shot. I understand it's not 100% effective and that some years they miss the mark, but it's all we got at the moment. You should also ask your doctor about the pneumonia vaccine if you haven't taken it already.
  22. Doing good rick. Hope you are as well. I found out last night that a good friend of mine tested positive. I hate that for her and I hope that she recovers quickly. I cross bridges all the time before I come to them. I'm not so sure that's a 100% bad thing though. I try to foresee potential problems long before they become problems, and take action to correct the issues. I'm not one for enjoying surprises. October or not. 😎 I hope that everyone has a great day today.
  23. Had mine earlier this year. I was a bit surprised that I had some side effects from it--aches, chills, etc., because I normally don't feel anything afterwards. I just drank hot tea, bundled up, and went to bed early. I was all better the next day.
  24. So amazingly creative and kudos to you for thinking beyond the moment and placing your child's welfare first. 👏👏👏
  25. Glad to hear that you got through your challenges rick. I don't think that door to door trick or treat should happen this year. The churches do "Trunk or Treat" and now they're talking about how or if they can modify it to keep people safe. It stinks for the kids, but what can you do?
