    Forgiveness

Yep I’m on the edge of my seat… is that what @PrivateTim meant? 😜

Love it, love it, love it. Thank you @lomax61, you never disappoint!

    Chapter 1

Yes, I had read that English isn’t your first language but your comment of it is such that it is hard to believe. Impressive stuff!

    Chapter 1

Try that world in Spain where “marketing experts” insist that adding a word in English is better marketing. Thus we had the delights in my educational partnerships of “las schools”, pronounced “eschools” as in España, “las Nights” etc etc.

    Chapter 1

Totally agree. I’m hooked. Also, any writer who knows their countable/non countable adjectives gets a bonus in my view: Three words or fewer. how many would have put “less”?
  6. Thanks @Valkyrie, I was about to write to the Penguin Protection Agency (PPA).
  7. Had never heard of this animal until this morning when I had the misfortune (hee hee) to read a short story from the twisted mind of @wildone which will cause me nightmares. They look kind of cool and superior. Pets for the leader of the free world, perhaps? Sorry, in a naughty mood.
  8. A poignant tale of the schoolboy crush turning into friendship and agony. The final parts of their adult connections left me wondering why did Cooper maintain the contacts? A very nicely written piece of writing full of emotional resonances - at least for this reader.
  9. The human mind is a weird place, sometimes. Or perhaps always.. and yes, why do the penguins come into play? “unfortunately penguins were unaffected by the toxin” an intriguing and mercifully short read!
  10. Another solid installment of the interconnecting lives of heroes from one of the first of the series. it is beautifully written with strong characterisations of even the minor players. A very enjoyable read.

    Family stuff

Wonderful summer reading here in sweltering Valencia. 22.30 and 29°C/ 84°F in my bedroom, despite air con, fans etc. Robert’s universe makes you forget your problems. another great, read @Robert Hugill, thank you 😊
  12. Another slice of musical education for me from my friend @Summerabbacat. I didn’t even get to the chorus, sorry! Loved the hair, though!!
  13. Watching this video was an experience! I’ll stick with Wagner but the song was v well done 👍 thank you, @Summerabbacat
  14. A month away from these guys and much to catch up on! Another excellent chp, though I might call for a take-away if Gray is doing the cooking!

There’s nothing wrong with @lomax61’s imagination! His love of antisocial/cold/none cuddly “heroes” is not unknown to his dedicated followers! The intrigue continues… Great stuff.
  16. Well, if I may say so as a newer, but keen reader here, I’m thoroughly enjoying the Carter series. Great news for your fans that new material is arriving! I’m on vol 3 of the series and totally hooked. Thank you, @Topher Lydon

    Chapter 2

    I’m lovin’ it……
  18. A great follow up which whilst set in only a couple of weeks allows our characters to show how they have developed during the intervening year. Cleverly written. Not much seems to happen and yet the story is densely packed. Lots of humour, lots of love, but with sadness interwoven. V enjoyable.
  19. I loved this book when I read it pre joining GA. I have just re-read it and it stands the test of time. I love the characters, especially Andrew’s mother. Church groups need more like her to cut through the pious crap. thank you Cia for recommending this story d well done Topher.
  20. This reads as good second time around. I highly recommend the book, and the series. Characters are well-rounded, the storyline is great and it’s very well-written. A perfect bing read.
  21. We had dinner for her last night. It was tough but she just shone. An amazing woman who is so positive. Thank you xxxx
  22. Exactly. Last week my best friend in Spain called us to say she was popping around. She entered and said, “Bad news, I’ve got inoperable pancreatic cancer.” Previously healthy as ….., non smoker, hardly drinks wine, exercises daily, excellent diet, a year until she was due to retire……. My conclusion, live each day as well as you can live it. Pressure, be it from outside or from within can sometimes be toxic. Hugs

    Flame

A short chp but densely packed. An intriguing start. I, nervously, await chp 2!
