  1. So true - how did I escape when school and college friends went so fast or so slowly? My students today think Covid doesn’t exist for them, AIDS is ancient history and of no relevance to their life. Sadly, a fair few will find is us still a reality. thanks for your comment- Gary L
  2. I think this chp really gets the balance right. Yes, loads of tech info which is usually way above my understanding, but placed in the context of the new relationships it really worked and made the chapter accessible and so enjoyable for me. For me, it’sthe best “technology” chapter by far but also one of the most thought-provoking about the social skills our hero will need to develop asap. 5***** chp. THANKS 🙏

    Chapter 5

Agree with Will. It will be a tough ride, I fear. The Major…. Um 😶
  6. Log this oldie to read on Valentine’s Day. It’s a nice tale and highlights the author’s skills very well. Good job.
  7. A message from the heart. An inspirational read. From a mancunian reader to Mancunian the great writer. Keep going. Your work validated your struggles to others. Read this guy - he is bloody good.

  8. As the man says…. I only got to mrs g by chance and I love her work. And as for new stories - YES!! G x
  9. I read this at university in London in the 70’s. Homosexual acts had been “decriminalized”, note not legalised, when I was in High School, but only for over 21 yrs, in private (student residences were not such) etc. not a hopeful world. And then I read Maurice, the long unpublished masterpiece which had been shared like a holy text amongst Forster’s close-knit circle. as you say it gave one hope that there could be that one friend there. I wonder how it reads decades later. The film is lovely but you inspire me to dig out the battered paperback. Thank you so much 😊
  10. A lovely, lovely tale. You don’t have to be a cowboy to enjoy this feelgood story. Beautifully written.
  11. Looking back at another anthology I feel I missed out in my early yrs of GA reading. There are real jewels here. And this by comicfan is a treasure. A heart lifting read. God knows we need some at this time. 🤗

  12. A good, solid review of a timely novel in an age when fact and fiction seen evermore blurred. And scarily so 😱 I, for one, think it’s great to see reviewers thinking outside the box in what to recommend us thanks

  20. Ace chp, again. So many hormones running wild it feels like being back in the rugby changing room at school. 😎or do I mean 😱?
  21. Crunch time. Shame I gave up physics in 1973 and maths a yr later. 😱😱😱 great work. A good distraction whilst I’m hooked up on a drip
  22. The last part of the Tristan tales is as good as the rest. These are cameos richly jewelled with great characters and wonderful language. A shame there is no more.
  23. This is the sequel to a tough anthology story. Link is attached. You must read FIRST. The author writes really well and although we get just a couple of tapas-sized chapters we are left wanting more. this guy can seriously write ✍️
  24. A very moving tale. Miguel’s gradual awareness and Tristan’s emotional journey are brought together exquisitely. So very good.
