Yep! And the not so wealthy too. From a Notting Hill friend: “He wants to do pears in red wine for Xmas eve, lovely but I’m not using my 90$ a bottle claret. I suppose I will have to get a bottle of red from the supermarket”…… How the other half lives

I totally agree with you. It ain’t hard to click a like/love button or even “a thank you, great chapter”. Mark, Carlos H and others have ready played an important role for me, not just as entertainment but rather helping me, and I suspect others, feel better about themselves. Well said @sandrewn
  11. A heartwarming tale, told in Chris’ punchy style. A sweet tale to start the year.

Thanks and a v happy new year to you and your feline companions. 🤗
  16. Carlos Hazday had a great sense of humour. Hopefully, he will forgive this black comedy submitted in homage. He groaned inwardly, not daring to disturb the giant of a man spilling over the armrest. Surreptitiously, he tried to reclaim at least part of the rest for himself. It was to no avail. The guy just grunted in his sleep and se

We have a few hours to wait in Spain (currently 15.25), which is a good thing given dinner I’m preparing later. i totally endorse your comments re our esteemed author, @Mark Arbour. He is a champion. 🏆
  22. I’m trying to work out how I missed this amazing tale of what? Grief, guilt, anger, redemption, perhaps. It is exquisitely written, not a word is wasted and it flows seamlessly to its powerful conclusion. A powerful piece of writing which, literally, had me wiping a tear away at the end. Congratulations

Ace work but the best for me was the interaction between Jeremy and Jake. The world could be ending but we can’t be rude! Love it! 😍
  24. Many thanks! Let’s see where the muse ( and limited skills) take me. Next is a take of Carlos H in the anthology and I half-way through prompt #260 which about a holiday nightmare with two weiner dogs. Then perhaps Juan and Pepe…. best wishes for 2025!
