  1. Thank you @northie for keeping us informed, this is sad news. Although my interactions with ancientrichard were only occasional they were always cheerful and full of warmth and friendship. When I first joined GA he was welcoming, when I started posting stories he was supportive, when I have had my down times he was a friend. I will miss him, as I'm sure many will. GA has lost a valuable member who valued all that GA stands for. We have all lost a humble and valuable friend. May you rest in peace with your loved ones and those friends from GA who have gone before you.
  2. One of the most beautiful stories I've read, well thought out, well written and well worth reading. I challenge others to read and not reach for the tissues, a recommended read.

    Downhearted

This has got to be one of the most beautiful stories that I've read. Thank you for reminding us all that love is there for everyone regardless of physical or intellectual ability, Downs Syndrome people are often overlooked by society and not deemed capable, this attitude is wrong and very outdated. Many Downs Syndrome people are very capable and are as entitled to love and be loved as we all are. Thank you for a well thought out and well written story.
  4. A well crafted short story that is complete but leaves you wanting more. @Headstall is a skilled author worth following, read and enjoy I recommend it.

    Chapter 1

I loved it, but I'm left wanting more. Only a skilled writer leaves readers satisfied with a story but still wanting more. Thank you.
  6. I've been enjoying going through the archives from the oldest building up to the newest, I've still got plenty of reading before I get to current stories. The best part of reading the archives is finding some really good older stories like this one and when I do I have leave a comment or two, they deserve it as does this one. I hope you do revisit this story and write a follow up, Blake deserves to have his story told. BTW I'm about to start reading Finding Refuge and looking forward to it.
  7. There is only one thing to say, this story definitely deserves a follow up, I'm hoping that there is one and I'll be looking.
  8. I'll bet Fanning's behaviour will be a topic brought up in many conversations over the weekend and for a long time to come, serves him right for behaving like a prat. What are they thinking, 'piracy', do they think they are auditioning for a new Pirates of The Caribbean lol. I'll bet they would be a much sexier looking crew that Johnny Depp'e crew pmsl.
  9. The story has only just started and already you have CJ 'mixing it up', but then what's a wedding without a bit of excitement lol. I'm already rubbing my hands with glee and loving it.
  10. How did I miss this on New Years Day? I must have been busy, lol. Nice start to this CJ story, now I gotta catch up!
  11. This has to be my favourite interview to read, @Mrsgnomie and @kbois make a great team and have produced more than a few great stories to read. The comment sections are as enjoyable as the stories and help to draw you into their stories making the experience so much more enjoyable. I think this interview proves the uniqueness and the attraction.
  12. I wish everyone peace, happiness, good health and good dreams that come true for the coming year, may your celebrations be full of joy and hope for the future.

    Aunt May's Magic

Thank you @Simon41 for the welcome comments, I really happy that you enjoyed this short story. I agree that this is a bit on the short side, but there are reasons for that. I wanted readers to know that The Boot had not been forgotten and there are stories yet to come from The Old Shoe Factory. It's also a way to tell a little of developments since The Old Shoe Factory opened it's doors and introduce a few new characters. There will be more to come at point after the new year.
  14. And there was me, thinking, well it doesn't matter what I was thinking I don't remember anyway. I'm just glad I'm not on my own. 😛

    Aunt May's Magic

Thank you for the valuable comment it means a lot, there are a few stories in The Boot series and The lost Souls Series which is part of The Boot world, I hope that you enjoy more of them, more stories to both series will be coming in the new year. Merry christmas to you too and to all readers.
  16. Happy Christmas to you all, I hope it's the Christmas that you want wether it's a nice quiet and peaceful one or full of fun and action with family and friends. Mine has been busy as expected, served over sixty Christmas lunches, met people I haven't met before and made more new friends, I'm shattered but it's it's been great.
  17. My wish is for everyone to have a peaceful, happy and joyous time over the festive period, regardless of your faith or belief. I especially wish it for all people in war torn countries caught up in combat of any kind wherever you may be.
  18. I recently came across this short from @Carlos Hazday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend that others also read this great 'feel good' offering, I'm sure it will lift anyone's spirits.
  19. A great heartwarming short story that is sure to bring a smile to your face. This is about a car that becomes more than a family heirloom, it almost becomes part of the family. You need to read it to discover the important role that the Ford Model A Tudor, Melvin Ford, plays in this families development. A recommended 'feel good' read.

  20. It feels like everyone is on strike here, the postmen, the nurses, train drivers and guards and god knows who's going to be next.
  21. Complete with the lecherous old man in the background I see, lol. 🤣
  22. I've really enjoyed the read and getting to know the family more, it's been a pleasant voyage. I'm a bit sad that it's come to and end, but as we've all come to know the end of one story is just the beginning of the next story which is yet to be told so we have something to look forward to in the new year. Have a happy holiday @Carlos Hazday and try to relax and chill a while, you deserve it. Thank you for this latest episode in the CJverse, we've all enjoyed it.
  23. @Luca E if it helps you can message me in confidence and I'll happily register your preference for you, I've listed the choices below. I give you my word and promise to register your choice. Too Soon A Second Glance Hidden Leap Of Faith Star Crossed
  24. I've cast my vote, but they are all good and promising themes. Which ever one is chosen I'm looking forward to it and coming with a story to fit, but most of all I'll be looking forward to reading the stories that everyone comes up with.

    The Engineer

Another great chapter, I loved the proposal and news of the upcoming wedding. It's a shame it's the last chapter as we always want more, but hey all good things must come to an end, although this isn't really the end as there is the epilogue and new stories in the new year which I look forward to. Thanks again @Carlos Hazday for sharing your talent as a great writer.
