  1. lol...same back atcha Joe
  2. I'd love to, and I would even be happy to share a room or something, since I'm old enough to book rooms and stuff now. The bad part is that trip would cost me at least 500 dollars, and I don't know if I'll have to come back to exams the following monday. Hmmmmm..... *runs to check how much loan money I have left*
  3. lol....this post is great! That would be awesome, although I do see a huge amount of issues to overcome here....and reasonably this just wouldn't work out for everyone at the same time, same place. I'm surprised no one has said vegas.....what happens in vegas stays in vegas. Plus that way you can just say you are going to gamble!! Or see a show. Or vacation. Or a conference....cause everyone would rather gamble than actually have a real buisness conference/convention, thats why the go to vegas. Although....I really do like the idea of just using Joey's house hehehe! Plus I'm pretty much flying through dallas fort worth every 3 or 4 months now Greg
  4. How come I just noticed this thread now?!? Thats what I get for studying instead of looking through the lounge for the past 3 months!!! Anyway, nice pics guys (and gals)!!! I recently returned my profile pic so it is there if anyone wants to see, although my gallery is still down.....and I'm hesitant to put it back up still. Oh well enjoy the one I guess Greg And remember NO PORN!!!.....just do half naked and its allowed
  5. A real winner!! As for your questions.....I think you used the perfect amount of lingo. Something like 'green room' was good to explain, and the way you did it added lot to the story....great description! Other terms like 'bottom turn' were fairly logical, at least in my opinion....besides describing that might have slown the flow down a bit. As for character development more might have been nice but you are a bit restricted in a short story, and you had a good pace going. For me I think I identified enough with the character (probably mostly in my head) and thus everything he did made sense to me, at least from my perspective. Maybe by not developing his character more it allows the reader to use their imagination and bend his personality more to their own view point. I would have liked more but I don't expect that from a short like this. I really enjoyed this one.....THANKS!!!!! Greg
  6. Hope you get better soon luc!! Take it easy and just worry about getting better. We miss you already... Greg
  7. TOTALLY AGREED!!! Why must people attempt to peg down a single reason for why people turn out a certain way. It is just as relevant (or should I say irrelevant) to see what factors make someone decide to become a lawyer, or have kids, or even how they cut their hair!! Well, the first two there are probably more relevant but still....who cares!! *begin sarcasm* I just love it when people-who know nothing about something-try and rationally explain something so beyond all current science and understanding by breaking it down into two simple and very arbitrary groups! *end sarcasm* I will eternally be perplexed and annoyed with journalists who simply make news themselves....as if there wasn't enough crap going on in the world to write about....they have to invent something else to fill up the news page. That is perhaps the second worst thing they do....the first being thriving on people's suffering. (In the rare case you are a decent journalist, my appologies.....although I doubt it.) Sorry if this seems a big angry, I'm tired and this crap gives me a headache....guess its time for bed Later, Greg EDIT: I think that had more to do with political, religious and social motivations than the medical profession. There was no 'real science' to base that judgement on, and hopefully good people could realize that. Unfortunately it only takes a select few with power and a select group with a large mouth to be a royal pain in the ass!
  8. Thanks for the b-day wishes everyone!!!! You guys are AWESOME!!!! Thanks again Greg

    bye

Doing the right thing is not doing the easy thing for yourself, you should not be taking the 'easy' way out! The right thing to do is to hold your head high and be there for your son! If you have to struggle everyday to get out of bed to make it through the day then that is what you should do even if it is just to be there for him. In the end that will have been the right thing to do instead of the selfish thing, you must be strong for him. So I must totally agree with Sat. So you know what?...we are all here for you, just look at the replies to your blog and you can see that everyone here cares and is extremely concerned for you. So don't do anything rash! If you need anyone to talk to we are here, myself included and we are happy to talk to you about whatever. SO...Chin up, be strong and be there for those who care about you...even if you can't think of any other reason to keep going. We care about you and I KNOW you will do the right thing...for Sam! Greg
  10. Ok, I've never done it myself but I looked it up for you. You want to go to the eFiction link at the top and then click help...or just follow this link. I would reccomend that you read the submission rules first to avoid any issues and then after that the 4th or 5th question is about submitting, just follow along and your done! Good luck Greg

Hmmm, I've notice that too. I have a friend who will make a gay joke, like he always has (he is more into racist jokes...on a side note he thinks being brown gives him the right to tell racist jokes ) then he will quickly go 'but thats ok' or 'not that there is anything wrong with that' just because he knows I'm bi. I guess it is nice he is trying not to offend me but it is just weird. I also feel my sexuality doesn't have to define me thus I don't think it is a big deal and thus don't feel I should run out and tell everyone, it just is and its ok to me. For others I guess they arn't so comfortable with it and feel insecure without defining themselves as 'straight' or whatever, as if others assume they are gay because they know a gay person and hang out with them?! It is kinda weird and my mental response is like 'ok, whatever' as it seems so unecessary but it that is what they have to do I'm not gonna try and convince them otherwise. Greg
  12. Agreed!! lol, jk. Sadly I don't know that much about the original series, it was before my time Now I'm all curious about what the white light meant, damn!

  15. Wow that is a lofty goal Nick. It is a great thing to aim for and work towards but don't be too discouraged if it takes longer than that...you are young afterall. Anyway, just wanted to wish you lots of luck (or hard work ) Greg

  21. Yes Rick...you let the cat out of the bag!! There is a program being set up with a panel of experts on various things here at GA. Currently its purpose is to help authors with realism in their stories...for instance when they have a character with an illness or leagal matters and they need to make sure it is accurate/believeable. I currently know of no plans to expand this into a tutoring program. Frankly that would be a huge undertaking and I doubt it would happen. Although I know many members have been more than willing to help students here in the past and would continue to do so even without an organized forum for it. As for the program, it is brand new so it isn't in full swing yet. It is designed to help authors, not to eliminate their responsibility to do background research. If you are interested in volunteering your expertise, please feel free to contact any Writer Support Team (WST) member, we will be glad for your help. As for authors, the program is there, please feel free to use it if you have the need. Just be patient as things are setup. If you need more info you can contact a WST member or find the post in the writers forum. BTW...I didn't say anything...lol. Greg
  22. I have to be honest...there are some pretty crappy teachers out there. Unfortunately so many teachers are needed that you can't depend on having everyone of them be great...sometimes not even good. For the most part teachers at least try and even the best teacher is human and thus can easily make a mistake. As for students most of them are like a sponge. Even in some university classes the prof will walk in and introduce himself...do students pay attention....not really...they write down his name! As if it is too hard to remember. It is sad but for the most part class has been turned into a 'production line' of graduates as opposed to critical thinkers. As a student I can honestly say it is us, the student's fault. But it isn't any easier when you have to take class with 400 other people...stupid university For parents...and I find this applies to everyone in the western world about all kinds of problems. We are too lazy/busy to care. Everyone is running around trying to do all the little things and we just let some of the big life things fall through the cracks. The phrase 'ignorance is bliss' applies to a great many things! Greg
  23. Welcome hollaburoo, Cookie, Jo Stevens and Wingless. I hope you guys have a great time here at GA. If you have any questions...just ask somebody! Have a great day! Greg
