  1. Actually is that off topic? Since the thread starter brought it up, and since this is a thread about what kind of person you would want to date, I think it is somewhat relative in this context. Also bisexuality isn't 'touchy' for me, although it seems to be with a few people who have had a 'bad experience' in the past. I don't even have a problem with anyone saying they don't want to date a bi guy/girl. It is totally their choice. What I do take acception to though is discrimination of any sort, and passing off negative, blanket stereotypes to others as 'advice'. I don't tolerate racism, sexism, ageism, etc etc. I would think that most gay people would learn it isn't nice to treat others so poorly, but it seems bi is even less acceptable than gay these days. Also if you want to share a bad experience and say be careful, by all means do that!! Just don't say in general bi guys do such and such. Its just not true. Personally I took the statement "i don't like bi though !!!" to be a directed statement of hate....and I would have commented just as harshly if someone had said 'I don't like black people' (just an example, not my feelings at all). Anyway if you still feel this topic doesn't belong in this thread feel free to remove this post, it wouldn't be a first for me...
  2. I wouldn't want to be with someone who felt this way...but your happiness is your own responsibility. You are allowed to be as racist, shallow, vain, money grubbing, biased and stupid as you want. (FYI this is a general statement saying anyone can limit their options however they want, it is not directed specifically at any one person)
  3. The perfect boyfriend (or girlfriend) is the one you fall in love with, not any preconceived visions you may have. Just be open to love or it may just pass you by. I fully understand no one wants to be with a 'jerk' or anything, but if I stuck by any hard rules, I wouldn't be so happy now

    I need a favor...

First off.... I'm not much of a prayer type either, I'm more into the medicine. If Donavan is getting some control of his leg back that is a good sign! It will be a long road though. I'll even wish on that star with you I love that song btw...have for a long time. 5 days might be a bit much tho Matthew....absolutely hilarious Your question.....I would say to be true to who you are, you may not be able to do what they ask, but you can do whatever is most appropriate and true to you. For instance, if you are asked to pray but don't pray....just keep positive thoughts in your head for them. Thats simply the best we can do Greg
  7. lol...awesomeness Canada rocks!!!...and not just because I'm in it Seriously I love Canada, and our quiet nature, generous tipping (not cows) and hell....even our dumbass PM! Greg
  8. Tiff, you're old!! Sadly I'm still older Hope you had a great day and a truely wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Greg

  10. I just want to stress one point before I add my opinion....not everyone with a certain sexual orientation is the same, its not like there is a 'gay' cookie cutter that makes gays with a little extra emotinal attachement, or a 'bi' cookie cutter that comes with something else. So please, speak of experience or individuality....I don't appreciate being boxed it. What I will say (as a bi guy), its my opinion that 'true bi' people are not closed off to love, but rather open to it from anywhere. That being said it soulds like your friend's interrests currently lie with his ex. I personally believe it is best if you give him some time to sort things out and start being open to love from someone other than her. When he does, you should talk to him. Letting these feelings fester will just make your friendship with him more awkward. At worst he tells you that he isn't attracted to you and you go on being friends. Anyway, thats just my opinion...do what is right for you. Greg Edit: Cross posted with Steve and Mark there...I don't mean anything by my remarks except I'm tired of being told 'what' I am by others...this stems from other recent threads, not this one in particular. No harm, no foul, just please be aware

  12. *wipes foam away from mouth* soooooooo.....I think I'm the guilty party here....but if you had an issue with my reply to your stereotypes you could have PM'd me about that...instead of saying its all cool in chat...then running off to your blog to post this about me... but thanks
  13. Now I'm usually in support of teachers since my mom is a recently retired teaher but, I think even my mom would help you beat the living snot out of this woman! Personally I like option B cause even though option C is pure genius, that is a huge amount of work!! sorry about your work friend, that sucks! lots of Greg
  14. Well....congrats!!!! I know you have worked reall hard for this
  15. Congrats on the upgrade Mark!!
  16. haha....soooo not true. Thats why the Caymans fell from 5th largest financial center in the world to somewhere in the 20s. The drugs....well that is sadly true.
  17. Please...there is what 2 ferraries on the whole island??
  18. lol, yeah umm...thats what happens when I don't proof read
  19. Any temperature.....I suppose technically that is true, but extremely unlikely. You would have to alter the pressure (atmospheric) a lot, and in some cases so much so it would no longer be called atmospheric pressure, cause the surounding material would need to be solid or absent to make extremes in pressure. Thats why when you say the boiling point of water is 100 C, that is referring to sea level, which is a standard 1 ATM of pressure. Ice converting directly into steam is called sublimation. It is natural for dry ice, which is frozen (I should say solid) CO2. Good point about the temp not changing during phase changes Robbie, tis very true, if not slightly complicated at times . G
  20. I'll see if I can try a different approach here. When you apply energy to a substance, that energy either goes to raising the temperature of that substance or to changing it's state (solid, liquid, gas) and that is called a phase change. So if your pot of water is at 100 C (the boiling point at sea level) it still takes more energy to convert the water to the gas phase. Water held at the boiling point without that extra 'kick' technically won't evaporate. What you (and most people) are referring to as boiling is more appropriately called bubbling. It's bubbles of water vapour that have formed at the bottom of the pot from nucleating reactions. That is also the hottest place the water is touching while on the burner. Now when you take it off the burner it is still boiling, you just don't have the bubbles rising from the bottom anymore because it is no longer hotter than the rest of the pot of water. Without more heat you are not able to make water change states from liquid to gas. However steam is still rising from the pot, that is your boiling, your evaporating of the water because it is still right at the boiling point and as the molecules collide at the right angle it is just enough to cause some I those molecules of water to convert into gas and fly away as steam. Pressure is a whole nother matter and bears nothing to do with why water stops bubbling when removed from the burner. As stated above it's atmosphereic pressure and it changes the boiling point. Pressure applied directly to a substance would prevent it from making the phase transition...for instance water at 150 C but still a liquid. Same idea behind making diamonds, lots of heat and especially pressure and it gets 'crushed' into a solid jewel. Hope that sort of makes more sense to ya. Greg
