  1. Lyn was so skittish and tightly wound up. If only he could loosen up around Brad. But I get it. He was so young amd scared and hiding on so many levels. Alexander remains the rock.
  2. There is a very tense dynamic developing and Lyn, to his surprise, is the prize. What exactly is going on with Brad?

    Chapter 4

Those years were so full of angst. Trying to come to terms with who we were in a world that didn't quite allow for it. I'm about 10 years ahead of you, with university being in the late 80s. God, I was naive. Your story brings back so many memories and to some extent regret for experiences not lived. Nevertheless, we cannot walk 2 paths at once, so we try to appreciate what we have and what we did rather than regret the wrong choices we made. What to do, as the Egyptians say.
  10. Eastbourne Tales is a collection of glimpses into the life and soul of the author. The little slices of life that are revealed, speak to anyone who has been young, uncertain and scrabbling to keep his nose above water. A must read.

    Chapter 5

On a river bank in Africa, and in the back of a car at the drive in. But not on top of a muddy cliff in a rainstorm at 4am. This was a very poignant chapter for me. I could feel the anxiety and trauma of that 17 year old. I never got that close to topping myself, but the thought of being gay and not wanting to be, consumed me like a relentless bush fire at that age.

It sounds like you had amazing friends. 👏 Having only finally emerged from the closet later in life and living in the Middle East, those kinds of friendships have eluded me.
